I was worried when we put Tonkin in yesterday. Yes Ryan had just walked someone, but he was cruising. I feel like thew switched allowed them to retake momentum. I think that was an unnecessary pitching change and it ended up leading to a lose, whether Tonkin is responsible or not.

What is odd about this is that all of our "professional' hitters were talking about being ready at the end of spring training. Apparently the entire team needs to take March more seriously. Maybe Mollie should have tried to get more at bats against better pitchers for our starting lineup. So many unprofessional at-bats to this point. And not just by Rosario, Buxton, and Sano.

Sick of Professional Athletes Using the "It's Business" argument for why they want huge contracts that will outlast their ability to perform. Looking at Bryce not wanting to by under sold at $500,000,000.00 on his next contract or Bautista demanding huge money through 40 years old. Harper just came out and said, "Good for you Roche! Nothing like father and son in the clubhouse..It's a FAMILY game #FamilyFirst" So which is it? Business or Family? Are you just playing a game? I get that some/most owners are making a ton and the player should share in that. But what all of these people forget, is that we, the fans are why they even get to do any of this. We pay obscene amounts for tickets and concessions, for jerseys and premium sports packages. If they want to go "full business" than a lot of people like me really will stop seeing this as a family game and start looking at MLB like I do the NBA. A bunch of unloyal, spoiled children making more than anyone reading this will make in their lives, combined. This could all be about a back handed way of cutting salary, and if it is, than that is low. But. If Laroche really is quitting over being limited on how often his son can come to the club house then that is pathetic. Even limited, his son is getting an amazing experience and his father is still making a ton of money. And these guys are paid to win games for us, the fans, ultimately. Williams, made some very flattering statements about Drake, he also said he wants the Sox to take their jobs seriously. Is there anyone here who can quit their job because their boss won't let them bring their child everyday? Most of us don't have that luxury, so I don't want to hear about the millionaire "Hero" fighting against the evils of having to focus on his job. Hero's are people who have a rough day, or year working a job that barely pays a living wage, and then go home and treat their family as if work didn't suck the life out of them. Those are the ones I look up to. Don't get my wrong, I still love sports, Just wish those people I used to look up to would actually have some perspective on how blessed they are.

Here's my two cents. I think May is a good reliever, but I think his ceiling as a starter is higher than guys like Nolasco and Milone. I am OK with him in the pen, but if the FO is making a judgement on him from the small sample sizes he has had as a starter, that is frustrating. He still has not had a whole year to be in the rotation and learn how to work through his "issues" as they come up. A lot of guys take a year or two, and we haven't given him any sort of long term chance. I think Milone is a solide 4, probably 5. My issue with all of this is if Nolasco stays up without absolutely earning his spot. It sets a very bad precedent to send a kid to the pen, who might be part of the future rotation if he can learn his craft, for a guy who is not a team player and is holding a gun to the FO's collective heads. We are still in a rebuild. May needs to work through his kinks now, because he will never get the chance if we are in a playoff race. If Nolasco ends up throwing a fit and refusing assignments, then I would let that go very public. He will only be burning any chances he has to earn and be part of a quality club in the future.

I usually watch the game a bit behind live. When its archived it is better. But on the laptop when you click the inning it tends to jump to live or sometimes back to beginning. On appletv it can do the same thing.

I have used MLB.TV for years. Roku, AppleTv and Iphone app. Most of the time it is a pretty good service. Sometimes the innings jump around and that can be super annoying. Anyone know how to fix that? What drives me nuts though is Fox Sports North seems to take a lot of time off in spring training. Some teams have every game televised, FSN seems to do about half. Weak. They need to step it up. Shoot yesterday on on the Twins network, you had to watch the Cardinals playbyplay and color.

Super bummed that we might have just given Hicks away to the freakin Yankees. I really really don't want this to come back and bite us. Chances are that Hicks crumbles under the pressure there. Or he buckles down being surrounded by a professional organization, and turns into what I always hoped he would be. Murphy. I am going to be cautiously optimistic. But if it turns out he is a miss and we just traded away yet another starting CF for nothing, then Ryan needs to go. Murphy needs to pan out, so the "scout" Terry Ryan, can keep up appearances as a talent evaluator.

Well I bet the Yankees would be pissed if they had signed him for big money and all he did was lead them to the post season. They have much bigger goals than that. Our Twins meanwhile rarely talk seriously about being WS contenders, they talk in terms of making the playoffs.

No. And while we are at it, no on Robinson too. He would be our 4th best defensive outfielder. Would rather give Arcia a shot until Kepler or Walker make it. Our defensive everyday outfield will be so solid that it would be ok to plug Arcia into a corner occasionally. Robinson will just end up blocking one of Walker or Kepler or Arcia from coming up and maybe working into the rotation with the 3 starters.

Thanks to the players, coaches , and Twins for a fun season. Hard to get up for a chance at the playoffs and then miss out, but it sure beats watching games only to see the young guys. I also have high hopes for this offseason, but not necessarily for a season of adding through free agency. I think we gain by subtraction. Or at least subtraction from the starting lineup and rotation. Kurt needs to be a backup, Hunter as well. Pelfrey needs to be removed from the starting rotation and maybe Nolasco and Milone. Seems like the only outside adds will be catcher and maybe another bullpen arm.

I am watching on DVR. In the 5th inning. Suzuki is a crappy receiver, he lost Duffey at least 2 strikes.

I choose to believe he is focusing on GB and learning how to get efficient outs and at some point we will see the whole repertoire return and the K rate will go up. In my mind a high K rate is useless if your pitch count is crazy high.

I like giving him one or two days off. Moving Plouffe to first and Sano to third on those days. Either Vargas or arcia if he starts hitting, play DH . Robinson down. I think Mauer's affinity for GIDPs and weak slugging make his slight lead in OBP irrelevant. He should be batting just ahead of Suzuki or behind. I have seen a few comments about if he accepts less PT or an altered role. Since when does he have anything to do with the decision ? I would think what is best for the team is priority. I would like nothing better than for Plouffe to be full time 1st and see if Sano can hang at 3rd for the rest of the year. I want to see if arcia and Vargas can hit during September well enough to factor next year. Kepler up for sure. Mauer and to an extent hunter are in the way. We are stuck with Mauer's Millions but that doesn't mean he needs to remain one of the faces of the franchise.

I think some of our guys mght be too worried about hitting someone and they don't go inside enough (either in frequency or distance). Shoot, if you can't totally control how far you throw inside and still show a willingness to do so, that is a great deterrent to diving a cross. Encarnacion should have gotten plunked for the D-Bag act. Not up high or anything, just a stinging reminder. Loved Sano' s response to his dinger.

If a player under contract refuses assignment to the minors does that void their contract? I am guessing no, but I can hope right:)

We have our new "Ramos for Capps". I honestly thought that TR had to be able to make better trades than Smith. This was exactly the kind of thing I didn't want us to do.
