  1. Alright lets just repeat the entire last inning again
  2. Anyone else notice that Ricky is flying open a lot less tonight? Landing more balanced on his plant foot? edit: And it looks like he is going right back to falling into first base. Me and my big mouth
  3. PC Load letter? What the &*^%$ does that mean?
  4. Ahhhh Strikeouts are so overrated
  5. Come on lets trash their BP!
  6. Was anyones else terrified Joe was going to GIDP? Way to go Joe!
  7. I don't understand the no Rosario. He has short time left up here. He shouldn't be sitting, Ever.
  8. Exactly MWM. We are arguing about things that might not even come to pass. There is no logjam yet, and we don't know nearly enough yet to make any long term decisions. Arcia could turn into a monster, or he could be a big flop, way to early to tell. As far as trading any of Vargas, Pinto, or Arcia. We would be selling low. Massively stupid. That is the same thinking that says we should DFA Schafer instead of DLing him. I think Schafer is a waste of a 25 man slot, but he is better than having no other options, so you don't cut him. The fact that we might have to trade away a potential solid hitter because we have no space for them drives me nuts, when I think about Mauer not being worth his pay at first base. A lot of these discussions are based on the fact that Buxton doesn't need to be sent down after he comes up. What if he struggles? We are a long ways from having to much talent on the ML roster. I think we also need to be careful when making statements about peoples attitudes and work ethics. We don't actually know much about any of these guys attitudes or work ethics, or coach ability. Hicks is a perfect example. I have seen way more posters here talking about his poor attitude, what are we actually basing that on? A few Gardy comments (I stopped trusting his assessments a long time ago)? Our perceptions of situations we don't completely understand? Bert's grumbling and Judegements? It is amazing how our own (other peoples) comments become the basis for our assessments. I want to hear from TR or Paul what they think, if we are going to make judgements about attitude or character. Just a thought.
  9. “That’s all I’ve ever really known is to go out there and pitch,” Pelfrey said. “Whether I’m right or not, I want to pitch.” I appreciate his honesty, but that scares me. The team has to come first. It gets frustrating hearing about guys not disclosing injuries and not wanting to miss starts, but the keeping going out there to get shelled. i.e. Ricky N.
  10. Silly. Don't you know that Aaron Hicks was promoted? We can't be wasting time reading and discussing anything else! Hope the Sarcasm comes through.
  11. And maybe ONLY 2-3 bad contracts blocking anyone. Hughes?
  12. No. They wouldn't be pulling Hicks up for a short stint. They know they can't mess around like that with him... Right?
  13. I hope people can have patience with him. In reality this should be only his second season of coming up. He would probably still be going through growing pains. Hopefully people look at him through the lenses they are seeing Santana through right now. They have things to work on. You could argue that Santana is having a worse year (offensivley and defensively) than Hicks had last year. No one is shouting for Santana to go down. Most are preaching patience, as they should.
  14. And all of the discussion is now moot. Good luck Aaron we are all rooting for you.
  15. In case no one mentioned it. Price has been bumped to Saturday instead of Thursday. Hick wouldn't have to face him. Just a thought. Of course we haven't exactly figured out Sanchez.
  16. I think hitches are fine for some people, but he doesn't seem very fluid in his windup. he is moving a lot perpendicular to the plate. He steps back towards third and then when he starts moving forward he looks like he is still moving towards first base. seems like he is creating a moving base. I actually like some of the rest that I saw in that clip. Just wondering if all of the movement off of plane could hurt his mechanics.
  17. Not a fan of the beginning of his windup. He seems to be placing himself out of balance or something. Sideways motion before moving to the plate. Anyone else see what I am seeing there? I think that could be fixed if it is a problem.
  18. I think he is for real. He doesn't have dominate stuff, but he sure is hard to hit solidly. Last night was a rough start for him. He seemed to really have to work to get outs, and he was missing his spots fairly often. Seemed like he was nibbling around the perimeter and was just off the plate, or he wasn't getting the calls. He definitely didn't have the control he had in his last start, but he still had six scoreless. I think we saw what he is capable of on a great night, his last start, and an ok night, last night. The key is going to be can he keep that movement on his pitches. If he has a night were he can't get sink, he might get roughed up a bit. Then the key will be for Allen to get him out before the score blows up. I think he is going to be capable of a high 3 ERA. When he is on, people get themselves out quickly. Not as worried about lack of strikeouts. When he has really needed one in the last few starts, it seems like he has gotten one or a short pop fly. I am sure he is a bit lucky, but I also see something that is repeatable for him, even on a bit of an off night.
  19. Anyone see the redwing game? I watched on game cast and it seems like there is more of a trend for Hicks in putting the ball in play with two strikes. They pitched him away and he hit it away for an infield hit. I think that is as impressive as the triple or double. Hicks often looked overmatched with two strikes in the past. Has anyone else noticed that he is having more of a gameplay with his at bats?
  20. Duensing... Bleck I know he has stranded some runners, but I still don't have confidence in him. He hasn't done much since 2010. Why do we keep him around? May must have spiked his blood pressure when Brian gave up his runner in two quick hits.
  21. I actually like this, if it is a temporary thing. Hicks doesn't need jerked around right now. Rosario is a good temp replacement, and we get to see what he can do in SSS. Maybe Hicks sees that he still has work to do. Actually as I write this, I am starting to hate the move. Hicks should be coming for a temporary spot, as it will have lower pressure and the understanding is that he would be going back unless he lit it up. But going back down wouldn't be a deflating failure. I am so confused. I should have my opinion privileges revoked.
  22. I see what you are saying and I can agree. I wish I could see video of the last couple weeks worth of hits. Seems like he is putting the ball in play a lot vs striking out. So I imagine is BABIP isn't too out of whack. His GO/AO is much more slanted toward ground, 2.0 GA/AO. I know what that means, but what does it "mean" ? I saw his homerun. I loved the stride, and the swing seemed pretty effortless. No hesitation, met the ball out front.
  23. That would put him on pace for like 25-30 homeruns from the left side. Nobody is doing that from their weak side. I get the flukyness of small samples, but what you suggest would be more fluky and way less sustainable. Hicks is going to be an OBP guy, who hopefully is learning to drive the ball. If his current stats are at all transferable, even 80%, than I would take that.
