  1. Hughes needs to be done. He needed one pitch and instead threw meat. He can't be trusted at all. Game wasn't lost until he put the finishing touches on. Cut him and be done.
  2. That was the most fun I have had watching a Twins pitching performance in a long time. Most unhitable mix since Lirianos slider (on a good day) or Johans change. Most times watching a Twins pitcher lately I am hoping our defense is in the right place.
  3. I can agree with your qualification of the statement. But that community isn't the only one that matters, in this country, all communities are supposed to matter.
  4. Why do we care???? He said something mean, but because of the special interest group involved it is news??
  5. Gimenez? Does Paul just want to go home?
  6. Why not start Rosario to provide the best possible defense behind Berrios? It makes zero sense to want him to clean some stuff up and then ask him to make his debut with one of the worst OF in baseball covering LF. Seems like you would want to stack the deck to try for a successful start. Is Paul thinking about this at all?
  7. They should expect more of the same. Listen. People have been shifting Joe for a while now and that chart proves that they are smart for doing so. Robby and anyone else who thinks like he does needs to read his own words. " if they don't shift or don't catch it". ???? Isn't that the point of defense? To put your people in position to make plays? Joe is probably unable to change his approach, because anyone in their right mind would have changed their approach by this point. It is actually pretty embarrassing that such an expensive and formerly highly thought of player has to face such aggressive and, in my opinion, disrespectful shifts. They are daring him to beat them and he hasn't been able to. If he is actually capable of changing, that is another story. Then, why is he taking so long to do it? We are watching guys like Sano, Buxton, and Rosario change their approaches and where they try to go to with certain pitches. Why can't the $23,000,000 man? And his BABIP isn't going to go up until he starts hitting with more power. I never expect his hits to be anything other than bloopers or dribblers any more. To listen to Dick and Bert refer to some of his balls in play, as line drives, is ridiculous. Even his homer was weakly hit. I have watched many of our players put time into their bodies, training and lifting, trying to get stronger, and you see the physical results. Joe's body hasn't changed much in a decade, and right now he could use some bulk behind his swings, because he doesn't have the eye to square up as much anymore.
  8. I'm thinking Nick Gordon for an overrated NL reliever we could make our closer.
  9. What are the odds Joe hits into a double play out of the four hole today?
  10. I hate the idea of Joe "GIDP" Mauer batting cleanup. With the weak hitting he is always going to be in the upper echelon of gidp and that is not good for run production. He should be at the top or the bottom of the lineup, not the middle.
  11. bye-bye Neil. Hopefully.
  12. No. No. No. The Twins have taken like 4 years to commit to a rebuild. Sano stays up and learns 3rd base here. Every day he doesn't play 3rd, other than rest, shows the ignorance of the coaching staff. If you watch games, his mistakes aren't usually lack of range or throwing, they are either mental mistakes or something dumb like messing up a pop fly. I can pretty clearly recall several errors, and for the most part they didn't cost us runs. He has also saved some runs and made some great plays. He needs to play everyday and settle in. He needs to learn, and even if we lose a couple more with him, I don't care. I want him to know the team supports him at third, because that is what will give us the most value over the next several years.
  13. Duffy is an example of how the twins have screwed things up in the past. Nearly everyone struggles at some point even in their sophomore year. Guys need the long leash to be able to play without the hook over their shoulder. The Twins have had a tendency to not commit to a rebuild and give kids the quick ride down after a few rough games. This season is shot because several veterans played well below replacement level for a couple months and were allowed to keep their spots. The rest of this season should be for the kids. We say this every year, but we need to see what we have. The mlb coaching staff needs to show they are worth their paychecks and help the struggling youngsters turn it around.
  14. Great. Now go out and find an assistant to a real GM and make him ours. Maybe an Epstein disciple or something. Do like the Wolves did. Do Not keep Antony.
  15. Who ever is playing the Twins. I want the Placeholders on the roster to sit down, because they have lost us enough games. Hughes is a perfect example. Every game he gives up a lead, and I know sometimes, like yesterday it is only a couple, but that changes your players mentality. I want to see the young guys up with a long leash. I want them to learn from their mistakes. I want a real GM and a real coaching staff, Like the Cubs have. There is no reason we shouldn't be the Cubs, as far as talent use and development. We are not the Cubs due to organizational ineptitude and arrogance. Don't get me wrong, I don't want the Twins to lose, but the problem with winning just enough, is that there will never be major changes. If you doubt what I say, ask yourself this. Do I have ANY confidence that this current FO/coaching staff can get us to the World Series in the next ten years? PS. Rockies and Royals I want the blueprint that the Royals are working with to be something we can do.
  16. Maybe we can get a two for one on flights and send Kevin away as well.
  17. Watching on delay. Kurt just popped up on a bunt. So are we going to send him down? Pathetic. Guy had no defense and is horrible on offense. Sick of veterans who suck but "play the right way". I don't care that Suzuki is "tough". He is bad at baseball. Centeno should be starting majority right now.
  18. It was an easy steal. I thought it was a smart play. The scoring chances were improved, and Eddie only had to not trip to get the base. I thought it was Bush League to pull him mid game. So the next time Joe strikes out after watching 2 down the middle or the next time Brian tries to pull a low and away strike, or the next time Kurt lets a ball get by that he should easily stop, are we going to see them pulled mid game??? This team has a long and distinguished history of holding young players to a higher standard than veterans, has beens, and never will be's.
  19. You are ALL missing the point. Albers is the New "old" prospect. He's the IL pitcher of the week for gosh sakes! We can't have him missing starts, even if Meyer is healthy.
  20. International kids, get to skip the draft and sign for the best they can get. They don't have to compete with other players in the draft and have draft slot basically control the offers most clubs give them. If this is true, the Boston Red Sox needs to pay a serious price. I hate how Koreans, Japanese, Cuban, or Dominican players get to have a bidding war for their services, but US or Puerto Ricans have to deal with one team. Everyone should have to go through the draft.
  21. I hope this doesn't mean Graham stays. It's like they want us to see that their year long decision to keep him on the roster was right and we will all witness it damn it. Murphy needs to play everyday, either up here or down in Rochester. Hughes better recover fast, his leash should be short.
  22. I agree with what was written, and I don't think we make a snap decision and hope firing the GM and/or Manager gets us to the playoffs. But I am not hoping for the playoffs anymore. I am hoping to see young guys grow and make strides. I want Rosario to get consistent time at the plate to start making better decisions on when to swing. I want Sano to play 3rd, as he will eventually have to be paid some serious cash and playing there will mean another solid hitter can play right, probably with better defense. Berrios, Duffy, and Meyer all need to be starting by mid-season, with long leashes. 2-3 of the young Bull pen arms we hear so much about need to be up. Arcia needs to play more regularly to see if he can be part of the future. Mauer and Park need to learn a secondary position. This list could go on and on. What scares me is how differently the Twins are treating this influx of youth and hope, than the Wolves are treating theirs. It is crazy how similar all of this is. The Wolves just a dumped hometown hero who just did a great job developing guys. They did this, because they wanted the best possible Coach and they wanted more experience in the GM spot. Taylor is obviously serious about making the best possible run in the next few years, and he didn't let sentimentality get in the way. Look at the Cubs in the last few years. They brought in a real GM and a real manager and said rebuild us into WS contenders. And they are. The Wolves made hard decisions, but I think they were right, time will tell. The Twins on the other hand, didn't make any decisions. There seems to be no plan. And in reality the influx of talent that may be coming and is here for the Twins, should be even greater than what the Wolves have. My 2 cents.
  23. Does this mean Fien gets sent down? Yet another inning with runs scored for him. Seems like the needs to be some equity. Meyer gets treated like crap and his confidence dinged. But good forbid Hughes or Fien or any of the other underperforming veterans gets held accountable.
  24. So does this mean Hughes gets sent down? He didn't even make it to the third before letting up 3 runs. Definitely looks waaaaay more hitable than Meyer.
  25. I have had it for years. I live in Colorado and MLB.TV is great for me. You can watch live or use the DVR function to start at the beginning if it has already started. Sometime the DVR jumps around on a computer, so definately have spoilers toggled so you don't see the score. The Apple TV app is pretty good and has good quality picture. If you have decent internet, that will make a huge difference. I typically get stuck with 7-8 GB per sec. This works, but faster is better. Overall a good deal, but every year I tell myself that if Ryan/Pohlads don't put some more money into the team, I am going to dump the package. Why am I spending money when they won't give me a decent product to watch.
