    The big difference between Farmer and Gasper is that Farmer had spent 6 years in the majors being a below average hitter and Gasper has spent 6 years in the minors being a slightly above average hitter for his age. Completely agree with your last paragraph, they have to compete for and get a playoff spot, or the new owners might (absolutely 100% should) fire this FO. If they miss the playoffs in 2025 what below makes people believe? 2017 – lost wild card game 2018 – 78-84 2019 – 101-64 – swept by Yankees 2020- 36-24 – swept by Astros 2021 – 73-89 2022 – 78-84 2023 – Won 2 game wild card, lost 3 -1 by Astros 2024 – 82-80 2025 - ?

    My ranking of top WR's goes Chase, Puka, JJ, St. Brown and Lamb, I am not going to argue that my list is correct because all these guys are amazing. I just like a WR that on 4th and short you know absolutely with out a doubt is going to get open and when you do a WR screen I think Chase and Puka are the best at doing that, JJ can do things further down the field that nobody else in the league can do. This year Player A - average 7.18 catches , 90 yards and .27 TD's per game and 42 yards rushing an a TD on the year Player B - averaged 6.06 catches, 90.18 yards and .59 TD's per game and 3 yards rushing. on the year Career Player A - average 6.57 catches, 88.42 yards, .32 TD's per game and 135 yards rushing and a TD total. Player B - average 6.42 catches, 96.52 yards, .52 TD's per game and 31 yards rushing and a TD total. IMO, those stats are close enough that somebody could say either is better., depending on the type of WR you like. A-Puka, B- JJ So after all is said and done we agree this team was never to be taken seriously as a Super Bowl contender, but just for different reasons?

    That is super funny, having the ability to run up the score on the dreds of the league and barely being able to win the game is the big difference. It wasn't like the Vikings shut it down against these bad teams and coasted. And FYI I am a huge Viking fan actually the whole NFL, but I have lived though the Vikings for the last 50 plus years and I know to look deeper into how things are going before buying into them making noise in the playoffs. I always think (and hope) hey, with a few breaks here and there maybe they can do some damage (just like 2 years ago, they record was a mirage more than reality. But heck yes I enjoyed the season. Finally going into the Rams game, I would argue the Rams had the best coach, best QB, best RB, best WR (JJ is amazing but he can't do some of things Puka can do) , and the best OL. Defense was a toss up. Those are games you generally don't win.

    If people watched this Vikings season from start to finish the last two weeks it should not have came to much of a surprise. (Didn't to me, made over 1K betting pie in the sky friends that bought into this team) They had 14 wins, 3 against playoff teams (Texans and Packers), so basically went 3 - 3 against playoff teams. Got 6 wins against teams drafting in the top 10 and the other 5 wins against the non-playoff teams. They played a 3 place schedule and the NFC West and AFC South and took advantage of this big time, I get you play the teams on the schedule and Kudos for them for doing that. But watching the games it was fairly obvious this team wasn't anywhere near as good as the top teams in the league. Compare that to the Lions who blew out the teams drafting at the top of the draft, Titans, Jags, Colts, Cowboys, The Chiefs kind of did what the Vikings did (winning relatively close games) so don't be surprised of an upset this week, the big difference Mahomes won't be taking 9 sacks and turning the ball over twice.     I wish the best for Keirsey, but I am a realist, he was 14th in OPS in the international league and he was one of he oldest in the list, same with his AA numbers in 2023. He has done nothing that hundreds of other players older than 25 have done in AA and AAA players. You know who has minor league numbers similar (minus the stolen bases) to him Jake Cave and Cave put up a 1.113 OPS last year in AAA and Andrew Stevenson. I understand what Aces in the Hole means, and again Keirsey doesn't fit that definition. The best Keirsey can hope for is start in AAA and tear up the league and somebody gets hurt (Which hurts the Twins) and come up with an actual starting spot. Or he sits on the bench in the majors and plays left field against right handed pitcherd and holds his own and forces the Twins to a bigger role. If he gets either of those two things and doesn't take advantage he will probably end up playing ball with Stevenson over seas. The Twins don't like Wallner or Larnach to hit against left handed pitchers does anybody think they will let Keirsey? So being left handed behind Wallner, Larnach, maybe EROD makes Keirsey a long shot to be anything more than a defensive/runner sub.

    If anybody is arguing Wallner isn't one of the best hitters in the American league against right handed pitchers (especially mediocre right handed pitchers) they are flat out wrong. I think the concern is that he or at least the Twins believe he can't hit lefties and just is a platoon guy, that makes him less valuable and really costs two spots on the roster. Or the concern could be the Twins send him out there everyday and it goes the way of the beginning of last season. Wallner is the same as almost the rest of the roster, we/they really don't know what they have - guys older than 25 that haven't established if they are regulars, platoon players, back ups or minor league guys.

    28 year old career minor league player is the Twins Ace in the Hole? He is more like an off suit 5 or 6, but we can dream of him and Helman taking the league by storm this year. IMO the Twins have the best outfield in the division, or the worst (if Buxton goes down, Wallner plays like the first month and Larnach plays like ever he has in the odd years) or if the Twins decide they have to platoon the lefties with lighter hitting righties.

    If Helman can hit just as well as Castro why is he a 28 year old with 10 major league at bats and Castro has been in majors since he was 22 was 4th in the ROY voting and has played in an all star game? Is it you are wrong or is it the Twins FO is too dumb to realize this?

    I think this article is kind of silly, Both of these players have been two of the better performing top prospects in 20 years (not that they have a lot in the last 12 or so years), Sano has/had a career OPS+ of 115 and Kepler has a career WAR over 20, if the Twins got this type of production from even half of their top 5 type prospects it would be amazing. It does suck they didn't turn into HOF type players but other top 5 guys like Hicks, Revere, Arcia, Rosario, Benson, Gordon, Larnach, AK, Javier, Martin, Julien, and even Lewis and Miranda make these two look Amazing. The only top hitting prospect since 2011 that can give these two a run for their money is Buxton.

    As a 26 year old minor league player he put up numbers required to continue his quest for the a sniff in the majors and that is about all. If the Twins solution to problems is 25 year old rookies or older they are in worse shape than I thought. With that said I hope McCusker and Eeles make the majors, help the Twins (or really any team) and make fulfill their dream of making it and making themselves some money.

    MiLB has Eeles as the Twins 30th best prospect, so I am guessing if the Twins were to trade him they wouldn't get much in return, thus the he isn't a great asset at the time of this writing. Doesn't mean he won't turn into a MLB player. ON a different note, Having two relief pitchers in the top 11 is kind of strange to me and if they are truly that high and with the Twins payroll issues I am trading one of them for sure because a top 10 asset in any system should return multiple pieces.

    As is, is this a playoff team? iffy at best, pitching wise they could be one of the top staffs in the American league, or with an injury or three they could be at the bottom. Same thing in on the offensive side with a little less upside, I don't see any improvement on defensive (except health from CC and BB). Next season I will more than likely do exactly what the team did this off season. Watch the games but keep my checkbook in my back pocket, hope for the best but never fully invest in the team because well why would I when the owners won't? So go Twins!

    My point was somebody compared a guy that didn't debut until age 28 to a guy that played in the majors every year from age 21 though age 35. That is is disservice to Harper. Good luck to Mickey, but even talking about him starting the year in majors is just another Joke the Twins are becoming.

    IMO, he turns 22 in about 5 days, and most likely will be in high A next year, at 23 in AA, at 24 in AAA and maybe the majors, that is why he is rated where he is on top of that he doesn't really project to much of a hitter. With that said I hope he really hits this year and will move very quickly up the prospect lists. Good Luck Kid!

    Joe Ryan doesn't become a UFA until 2028 at age 32. Logan Webb doesn't become a UFA until 2029 at age 32 after signing his extension. Mitch Keller doesn't become a UFA until 2029 at age 33 after signing his extension. These two really aren't a comparison to Joe Ryan, it took those teams doing an extension to keep then though their "prime years" the Twins already have Ryan for those years. Luis Castillo was going to be a UFA last year (2024) at age 31 a little bit similar but I think it is probably fairly obvious Castillo was a better/more established pitcher than Ryan. Then there is the fact that almost every article talks about dumpster diving because the Twins are limited by payroll and yet are going to spend 20 million plus a year on a starting pitcher on the wrong side of 30? I mean if the Twins were going to do something like this, why didn't they just sign Gray to the deal he got? he got three 3 years 25 million locking him up to age 36, basically what you are asking them to do with Ryan. IMO mid market teams shouldn't be extending guys on the wrong side of 30, the real article should be when do the Twins trade Ryan (2025), Ober (2026) and Pablo (2027)? You don't need to extend guys isn't that what the amazing Twins pitching pipeline is for?
