I think we have 7.5 million in international money , I saw it posted last week when a member posted that amount for a trade with the Dodgers ... the trade was , give some of the Dodgers the international money to boost dodgers chances better at getting Sasaki and we get back a good minor league catcher without giving up prospects ... I do like that idea , but I think the twins should put all there chips in acquiring sasaki first ...

We need to do something to strengthen our lineups offense , every player should be considered tradeable , find a decent player with good defense and can hit , but they better get it right on a choice in a trade , they haven't been all that good in getting players back from a trade ... I would talk to the orioles and rays , westburg and mead , rafaela has a contract already and I would be surprised I'd they would consider it , Yankees player I know nothing about ... It's hard to trade away prospect pitching but if we have a surplus ( which we haven't for many years ) , to better the team you have to be creative as falvey would say ..

Kitty had an amazing career and is a wonderful human being , very approachable just like Harmon , Rod and Tony too ... Today's game and players are alot different ... I remember when Calvin released him , I was maybe 10 , I cried but followed his whole career with joy ... Thanks kitty for the memories ... I definitely will watch the documentary , but have to go back to work now ...

Twins Trade Candidate Breakdown: Jhoan Duran
Blyleven2011 replied to Eric Blonigen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'd hate to trade him as well , but I could see the twins listening to offers ... Duran had a tremendous first year , the next year the league adjusted to him and started to surrender homeruns , he still had a decent second year , this past season he started the year on injured list and started his year with less velocity , he still averaged 100 mph but never could get the 104 or 105 velocity back , if the twins evaluators think he might be in for a major injury than I can see a reason for trading him , otherwise you keep him until the trade deadline and if we are not contending you trade him ... In my opinion his arm does bothers me a bit with last years injury and the loss of velocity , but what also bothers me is Rocco not using him strictly as the closer , his stats and my eye test shows he's better as a closer than a set up man .... -
Twins Trade Candidate Breakdown: Willi Castro
Blyleven2011 replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Finally a reasonable trade to examine ... Castro's salary already has opened the door to a trade , good player and very versatile , many teams should be interested in him and the return might be better than you think if alot of teams covet Castro ... I'd definitely trade him and I wouldn't miss him , we should have internal options to replace him , maybe not as much versatility but a replacement none the less ( let the prospects have a chance , they keep getting older the longer there in the minors )... Trade a player that has high value and doesn't fit into our long term future ... -
Twins Trade Candidate Breakdown: Griffin Jax
Blyleven2011 replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Let's examine a Jax trade ... Let's not ... We had on paper a very good bullpen in spring training , Jax was the only real solid reliever for the season , sands and Duran were good , what happened to the rest of the bullpen story ... We've been clamoring for the team to have a quality bullpen for years and haven't put one together that can stay healthy .... If Jax becomes a starter , varland better be as gpod as jax as a replacement ... Jax has the makeup in mentality and physical capabilities to continue doing what he has done for the past 3 seasons , he isn't done yet and who knows he could have his career year next season ... Let's please look at examining other players that don't fit into our long term future , not our best ... -
Right , since I heard he was partially to blame for blylevens dismissal , I haven't had much time for him ,,, Dick and Bert were good for tv fans , entertaining , my dog was named Blyleven and he was smart enough to circle people to ...

Twins Trade Candidate Breakdown: Royce Lewis
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
( Lewis ) A françhise player to build around only comes around once in à great while ... All players should be considered tradeable but to trade Lewis would be hard to swallow ... What messed with lewis's approach at the plate in the second half of 2024 . Was it injuries , was it the mental approach to moving to second base or was it , he just doesn't like the game plan of the FO and Rocco .... Lewis is an intelligent baseball player , we have to figure out what went wrong and get it corrected ... Is he tradedable , sure , but he's to important to the twins going forward , his play is exciting and draws fans to the stands ... -
Twins Trade Candidate Breakdown: Chris Paddack
Blyleven2011 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
No team is going to trade for paddack straight away , he would have to be packaged with other players ( see desclafini trade for Polanco , we wanted bullpen help and got topa and prospects , and we also got desclafini , and Seattle and giant's paid down his injuty plague salary ) , if another team wants to trade for 1 of our 40 man roster players , they would have to take paddack in the same deal , if we have to send money to the trading team , I say we keep paddack for the bullpen or as depth to fill an injury ... -
We have a lot of surplus infield players ... Lewis at third , Correa at shortstop , Lee at second , ( martin can spell at second ) , keashal is up and coming ... Castro makes alot of sense to trade due to money constraints and high trade value for his versatility , I like him but wouldn't miss him and it would give us the opportunity to retain Santana's defense at first bsse and his bat was alittle more productive than castro ... Twins need to give these players a stable position to play regularly and let them either keep it or play out of it ( why don't they train a player in the minor leagues to be a utility player instead of making position changes at the MLB level , keep a player in situations to succeed ) .... IMHO it's a train wreck shuffling these players around unless they are groomed for it in the minors ...

I don't care how old he is , since the injuries derailed his professional career he has been a under appreciated prospect ... Since he has been healthy he has proved he can play baseball and the results in minor leagues the past 2 plus seasons since healthy has proved it ... Since drafted I have watched this kid play , he earned his spot on the roster last year more than some others ... Now the brains of the twins need to let him play big league baseball to see if he can produce at this level , he can add speed to our game , play good Defense and maybe hit for power and a decent average ... Starts with adding him to the roster out of spring training , one player prospect that i want on the 26 man roster to prove others wrong that are down on him ...

As always , I still think the catcher is the leader on the field ( or used to be ) , from a catcher you need defense , blocking pitches , throwing out runners , if he hits , it's a plus ... Years ago you also had shortstops with great defense but couldn't hit , now you have plus defenders and alot of them are plus hitters ... If you trade jeffers and keep Vazquez , you have a problem for 2026 , I do prefer Vazquez defense and savvy behind the plate ... Jeffers trade would get value back but you might have to offer alittle more in trade to get that value , the value we need back is a solid defensive catcher that can hit 260 or better ... There out there , but very few ...

Rocco is not a major league manager or his coaches , I will cut them no slack ... Offense , He has players to his disposal and he can not get that talent to be complete professionals in the game of baseball .. he doesn't teach them to bunt , steal bases , run the bases , hit behind the runners to advance runner into scoring position , hit to opposite field ( the good hitters do ) , no adjustments are made with 2 strikes , no discipline at identifying a strike or a ball off the plate , they continue to swing away and fail miserably at driving runners in scoring position in ( runs do matter , its called rbi's ) , ( they don't have to take batting or infield practice , his quote not mine , the players need to come ready to play but he doesn't emphasize mentioned above ) , he continues to constructs poor lineups , the players don't know if they are batting lead off or number 9 in the order ... Defense , poor , lots of mistakes throwing to the wrong base or missing cutoff man , a professional doesnt make mistakes , yes he may make an error but mistakes are lack of mental preparations that the game plan doesn't emphasize ... In ending , the plan that the FO , manager and coaches has , THEY HOLD NO ONE ACCOUNTABLE and the manager has no strategy ( if the manager continues to bundle things , the players will too ) ... The people with the plan are here for another season , if we can't afford to acquire good players because of payroll , then we need to take the talent we have and teach that talent to be a better talent ...

When and where have I posted Hoffman , never and I'm not sore !!! Hoffman was released from the twins and found success is all I was stating and we let him go for nothing , now he's going to get his payday of 5 million a year , good for him , another strikeout for the FO ... FO always seem to let the wrong player go , it's been their MO for years to let them go for zilch in return and you have to accept it is all i stated He had good seasons and it worked out for him after the twins , all it takes is someone not liking him to stick with a team and he moves on to another team ... You have to much time on your hands with your spread sheets ...

I have to agree with this , we've seen him play for really only 2 seasons , with 2022 on IL list almost the entire season ... Yes it is hard to evaluate Miranda on what type of player he is going to be , so faŕ we can evaluate his defense as average at best , but what type of hitter is he going to be exactly , to many injuries so far , 1 more season to figure out if healthy , does he have the stamina to play an everyday role , I have seen many players over the years , some are just a first half player and tire the second half ... Coomer Was a first half player , he barely hit a homerun in the second half of any season ...

Brooks Lee got a taste of MLB baseball , was injured yes , played right around average defense but under performed to his standards of hitting I'm sure ... he struggled at the plate , I would think he starts in AAA St Paul and then be brought up , sometimes a small taste in MLB will give a player some more confidence going into his second year even though he struggled his first year ... He just has to figure out what went wrong and make the adjustments ( could have been the injuries that zapped his hitting ) , from what I hear , he has better knowledge of the game than most ....
