Twins Rookie of the year maybe , but we will have to see what they can accomplish at the MLB level .. Keaschall and Rodriguez are talented players , if I had to pick one with a chance at rookie of the year , I would pick Keaschall , he's been consistent with the offense and his defense at second base would be welcomed ... Keaschall seems the most likely player to be on a mission . .

Baseball is getting to be a comical game of errors starting with the owners and manfredball ... Strategy has been taken away and replaced by sabermetrics , is another comical of errors ... The twins have had no strategy in playing the game since Rocco has been manager , except the homerun and they are mostly solo's ... The strategy should be to make contact and hit it where they ain't , get on base and then hit the game changing homerun ... The way the game is played today I see less and less players that deserve to be in Cooperstown HOF ...

Did I read that right , buck showalter is managing the Mets , no way is Kepler a good fit with either new York teams , he would fold under the pressure the fans expect ... Kepler would be a good fit with Oakland playing in a minor leagʻue stadium , if he's a late spring signing for 5 million ... Toronto has needed left handed hitters for quite sometime , we should have traded some of our lefties for some of their righties , we still can ... Colorado would work for Kepler ... Tampa Bay is another possibility as a cheap late spring signing , playing in a spring training facility ... We'll just have to wait and see ...

How to build a roster cheap ... Develop within and let the prospects play , can't be any worse than a collection of dumpster diving players ... Where are all these drafted shortstops that are very athletic and bat right handed , if the twins could be alittle more instrumental with these players in the minors and find a position they are comfortable playing instead of making them uncomfortable when they get to MLB and then moving them to a position they have no experience at ... Develop your players in the minors to a different position if they are blocked at the major league level , we just seem to lack creativity in that department , we shouldn't have a lack of righthanded bats ...

I'm in agreement with mikelink45 that its all about making him happy ... Even though its worth a try in spring training at least , I'm concerned that if he fails as a starter once again , he might never be the same bullpen arm he once was ... He's durable , has the mentality and has worked very hard to be a great bullpen arm , and I'm sure he'll work hard to be a starting pitcher ... But I have stated my concerns above , plus I'd have to include injury risks and running out of gas due to the amount of innings , I've never viewed Jax as a 2 inning pitcher , he's been more effective as a 1 inning pitcher of 15 to 20 pitches and more effective not pitching consecutive days ...

No mention of kirby puckett in the top 20 prospects ... What a crock , not even an honorable mention ... You have rose colored glasses when evaluating talent ....

I've been advocating for a lefthander in the rotation for quite sometime ... If he pitches this year at all I agree it most likely will be in bullpen at an inning or maybe 3 innings at a time ... He definitely isn't a dumpster diving player so there is some upside on signing him like we did Pineda , he wouldn't take a roster spot right away as he would be added to the 60 day IL list , but I think we'd have to wait until spring training to do that , if we signed him now he would have to sign a minor league contract off the 40 man roster , if now or before spring training or the season started if signed he would be added to the 40 man ... You catch my drift doc ???

I'm on board with just allowing Jenkins to hit , hit to all fields and doubles into the gaps , Jenkins needs to develop into a hitter not a Homerun hitter , the homeruns will come without even trying ... Players that are productive is what we need , n̈ot strikeout kings ... Don't fix what isn't broken and let Jenkins play his game ...

If the twins are going to trade paddack , WHAT the heck is taking them so long ... Free up salary and get to work filling some position holes , the longer they wait , the good talent will be playing for someone else ... falvey said he is going to be creative , let's see some action , can't get anything done sitting on your hands ... Everyone is looking for pitching so make a trade , I wouldn't be surprised that they are also listening to trade offers for SWR ... Ìm fine with our young pitchers to fill out the rotation and im sure they will find some depth in pitching with minor league signings with sn invite to spring training..

You asked the question , should any honorable mentioned players be on the top ten .... My answer is YES , Michael cuddyer over Mccarthy ... Cuddyer was a solid player and seemed to get better as the years went on , not a superstar but very talented , solid player ... Mccarthy I'm not even sure he should be an honorable mention as he contributed very little to the twins ... He has sadly passed away at 54 this year ...

Players Who Went Right To The Major Leagues

It was Eddie's best pitched game in his short playing career ... Big crowd for the debut of Bane against Clyde ... fourth of July 1973 ... -
The key words are " should they " ... The way they have operated in the past off seasons and deadlines tells me there going to rely on what we have and add minor league contracts with invites to spring training ... We can only hope for a difference maker ...

With the roster at 37 , and all players tendered contracts ii don't think there will be much trading , alot of minor league signings and invites to spring training for players to fill out the roster ... The FO currently likes this team going forward and seems to be going the cheap route once again , will the holes be filled ? ... Castro to me is tradeable with his contract to high for the twins , could return a left handed reliever or righted bat or even a first basemen ... Like i said earlier , they like and have confidence in the current team , WHY , because the 2023 deadline , no trades , 2023-24 they didn't fill all the holes on the roster and 2024 deadline they made no trades , that there tells me it's not going to be an active offseason ... What will they do this off season ? , not much they can do with the budget restraints but roll with the same players for 2025 with no key acquisitions ... Please prove me wrong ...

Are Trevor Larnach And Matt Wallner Redundent?
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
So Google is not smarter than a fifth grader ... Thanks for clearing this up and I enjoyed watching his improvement this past season .... -
Castro should be tendered and then most likely traded for a return of something ... Stewart because of injuries I'm on the fence of not tendering ... Tonkin most likely is non tendered ... topa will be tendered because he was involved with the Polanco trade that hasn't rewarded the twins yet , FO wants aleast another year to redeem themselves on that trade ... The rest will be tendered , who do we have to replace them at a lower price , there could be some trades from the tendered players ... Then again , they could tender all of them and roll the same as 2024 , who knows what the FO is thinking , We'll be right here again tomorrow on the decisions ...

Are Trevor Larnach And Matt Wallner Redundent?
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Larnach went to driveline last off season and showed significant better results , he should be back there again this off season and hone his skill even more , 2024 could have been his last season in a twins uniform if he didn't show production , he did and he stays another year ... Wallner had a horrid start to the season and was sent to AAA to find himself , he needs to go to driveline this off season to hone his batting eye ... As far as defense they are both adequate at the corners , if they work hard they can be better , the FO and Rocco should also try both of them at first base in spring training to give them versatility , see in spring training if it is possible one of them could be a decent first basemen ... The only thing redundant on the roster is the injuries ... -
You nailed this except , if we were fortunate to land Sasaki I would much rather have the experience of Vazquez and trade jeffers , if jeffers defense was better with his bat , I'd keep him , but after 3 or 4 seasons jeffers is who is is , nothing personal but jeffers is just around average on defense with a streaky bat ... If we are out on Sasaki , I like the idea of buying a catcher from the Dodgers system that can hit and play above average defense with the international money , the reports are that the Dodgers have 3 catchers close to MLB ready .... Catching used to be the most important position on the field and if they hit it was a plus ... Let's give a toast to a successful offseason , if the front office doesn't get creative , I will continue to NOT cut them any slack ...
-
I personally think Vasquez has earned his contract in 2024 , 2023 his defense was good , but hitting wasn't,, I'll take Vazquez defense and leadership over jeffers any day , hitting is a plus for a catcher and there are not that many good hitting catchers , both have been streaky in hitting with jeffers being alittle better .... Me ,personally I would trade jeffers with our AAA catcher as backup ĥ

Prospects ::: the front office likes to keep prospects , never trading them away and always losing them for nothing if they don't make the MLB team ... 1 . yes they have some room on the 40 man roster for the better players , our fringe players they need to make trades for younger players that dont need to be protected and they wouldn't have this problem every year ... 2 . They have to learn to evaluate our talent that is not going to be part of the future and package them in a trade for a player that's somewhat established in MLB and can play on the 26 man roster ... falvey is using the word creative more freely lately , it's time for him to act on his words ... keep the good ones like Raya ...
