Sad state of affairs. Should get everything they can for anyone on the roster. Duran throws a stinker inning last night and lowers his trade value.

You fanatics go ahead and keep dreaming. I went to my first Twins game in 1967. I know a little bit about baseball and this organization. Has he ever had a WAR this high? My guess would be no and likely won’t be replicated for the reasons I gave earlier.
  3. 1991
You’re assuming he wouldn’t want to get traded out of this cluster.
  4. 1991
He's 31, injury prone and bound to regress next year. You trade him for a max return value because he's having a career year. See ya!

At this point, I'd say anyone above the "not going anywhere" line is fair game. It's too bad we cant dump the Correa and Buxton contracts. Do a major reset and go young and homegrown.
  6. 1991
They can make noise... be a seller and try to get someone to take correa and buxton. Go young with the roster.
  7. 1991
I just looked at an article on ESPN about their top 100 players in MLB. While I don't take a ton of stock in these rankings, I honestly don't believe Correa belongs on the list anymore. He was the only Twins player...

Best comment in here. The organization isn't committed to winning a championship. They are interested in not losing money. A bad combination for us longtime Twins fans.

I feel the Twins should be a seller and get rid of big contracts for youth. Build this roster like the Orioles and other teams like them. Hell, look at the Nationals record. The Twins can likely stay in the last wildcard spot without them. And then get pounded in the first round. The Twins are 0 and forever this year against the Yankees, Guardians and Orioles. This is not a year to chase them with rent-a-player.
  10. 1991
If you can get them cheap fine. Otherwise pass. Twins need to add youth and not guys that hit below .250 (like most of our current lineup).
  11. 1991
Wrong - they're the next Orioles. Bucs have tons of very good young talent. I believe the Twins should follow the same model. No more high dollar losers like Correa. I would be a seller at the deadline and bank tons of good young talent. This version of the Twins is going nowhere.

    Reminds me of spring training...
  13. 1991
It only takes a series against the Yankees to slow the Twins down.

One of my favorite sets as well. Probably one of the first years I started collecting cards as I was born in 1961. Love the Carew card! '69 set is my favorite set from my days of collecting. Look forward to your post on that one.

The Twins should have done the same with Gray as the Guardians did with Civale. IF the Twins make the playoffs, they will be trounced. Sometimes you have to be a realist. Hope is not a strategy...
  16. 1991
    Blown saves that is.
  17. 1991
Absolutely could use him. The Twins are 4th worst in the league with 21 out of 40 some chances. Hader has 4. If he converts half of the Twins opportunities, we're looking much better. I don;t think Duran is ready to be a dominant closer yet.
  18. 1991
And Rendon wouldn't help much either IMHO.
  19. 1991
It is very clear that this Twins team is not a championship team. Not even close. I recommend a fire sale and rebuild with youth.
  20. 1991
To hell with the Twins - I'm turning into a Reds fan. What an exciting young team. All built from within.
  21. 1991
So, I love this because I was born in 1961 - the birth of the Twins. C - Harper 1B - Killer 2B - Carew SS - Cardenas (one of my favorite Twins) 3B - Rollins RF - Allison (he would qualify as RF and LF) CF - Puck LF - Tony O (have a foul ball catch from the Met) P - Kitty RP - Tough one - Nathan
  22. 1991
I would be a seller. The Correa contract is going to be an albatross. I'd sell Buxton too. I'd sell just about anyone on the pitching staff.
  23. 1991
I really think Rocco has lost this clubhouse. I see no energy or mental toughness. Most sports are 1/2 ability and 1/2 mental.
  24. 1991
The Twins should be able to tinker with the roster enough to remain in the division race. They currently are tied for 8th in the AL in wins. Don't see them making a big run in the playoffs, but you never know. I just don't want them making bonehead deadline moves in the hopes of a WS championship. The trades with Baltimore and Cincinnati last year seem lopsided to the negative right now.
  25. 1991
What happened? He was traded to the Minnesota...
