  1. GRRM: "Hmmmm....how can I minimize one of my book's greatest heroes a bit more than putting her through a series of stupid decisions.....oh, I got it! I'll come up with a totally implausible story in which I swap babies (again) so that it can diminish her claim to the throne and make Varys behind it!" Just ugh.....
  2. Right and the cost to provide just a dorm-level lifestyle for these guys would be peanuts compared to their profit margin. It's atrocious and I hope MLB gets flooded with lawsuits. One part of this I don't like, however, is that the owners will take almost all of the blame when it should be shared. The player's union is a huge part of the problem.
  3. The final episode is fine, if anything it stays too closely to the books. But it sure as hell cleans up Jon's storyline beautifully. The BS at the Wall in the book is the second most maddening thing for me in his plotting. (After fake Aegon - one of the worst decisions I've ever read in any book)
  4. That's the worst part, as much as we can talk about letting this bring us together, the actual effect might be the opposite.
  5. Not dead yet! http://blog.earthlinkbusiness.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/mp1.jpg
  6. I've always been on the Kepler bandwagon and I'm thrilled to see him coming along as well as he is. One concern I have is that this team going forward might have a power problem if bother corner OFs are looking 10ish HR guys. Assuming Mauer continues to play 1B that might mean a team with only 3 guys that can hit 20+ a year. (Plouffe, Sano, Dozier) I love all the speed and defense out there in the OF, but there would be a sacrifice to that as well. Just thinking out loud about that future lineup.
  7. Well, we think of it differently because baseball is the only sport that has a different set of rules for each league. The simple fix is to simply stop having pitchers hit, then this won't seem like a fad anymore.
  8. Well there you go, he's going to get DL'd as soon as Santana or Nolasco is ready.
  9. Well, I can, but certainly this type of kid (if a white supremicist and not just a general nut bag) isn't far behind.
  10. Really? I know that lone wolfs or small sleeper cells are a major threat, mostly because it is relatively easy to organize without an online footprint.
  11. I'm fine with keeping him, but dear god....no extension!
  12. A pretty heinous act to be certain and impossible to comprehend for me.
  13. I wonder if his stand against government invasion of privacy and his stand on over criminilization don't change that a bit.
  14. A lot can change in several weeks, but the Jays might be a team desperate enough for competent pitching to make a trade. It's also time to start badgering the Giants about Susac. Multiple times a day if need be until you find a fit.
  15. Rand Paul is the closest thing to sanity on that side of the aisle from what I can see. Maybe Rubio.
  16. I can't believe anyone who has watched this team would argue that the OF is "easy" and you can just throw any one out there. I'm seriously dumbfounded by that.
  17. That's fine, drug abuse of varying forms has existed through most of baseball history. My point wasn't just about Bonds - pick anyone you want after integration, but Ruth played baseball in a format totally unlike what has followed since.
  18. So does Delmon Young, that doesn't make it a good idea. We don't have to move Sano. We have a DH spot...so why the hell do we want to move him?
  19. It's hard for me to compare Ruth vs. Bonds given the dynamics of the game - you know, like only playing white guys from the northeast U.S.
  20. If we get Bush vs. Hillary....I would bet Trump stays in this thing Perot style.
  21. Well, you said something relating to the end of times, then took me literally when I used your same reference? Um....ok, back to Sano I guess.
  22. Um, here: "AND he has Buxton giving him a lot of cover by flanking him in CF, is it really the End of The World?"
  23. You're right, I misread that on B-ref. My apologies.
  24. Not to mention Pujols actually played those positions in the minors before he was called up.
  25. St. Louis didn't have this fancy option called DH.
