  1. Here it is.
  2. I can't grab it right now, but there is video of Pedroia reassuring Machado from the dugout as Machado is reeling from almost being hit. He said "You know it wasn't me" and then sent a text and had a quote about how he didn't agree with what happened. I'll try and snag it later, but yahoo had it all embedded in the story.
  3. Part of the issue here is Pedroia and Machado seemed to have an understanding. This pitcher decided to be a hero for his team. At the very least, shouldn't the guy that got supposedly spiked have a say in whether the other guy gets beaned or head hunted? Too much vigilantiasm in all this. And it comes with all the same problems a vigilante does. (Unfair, overly harsh, above the law thinking etc.)
  4. Pedroia also told Manny, on the field as it was happening, that he didn't agree with it. Stupid. Just stupid. Baseball should be ashamed of this kind of nonsense.
  5. My god....a 13 man pitching staff and we're throwing position players out there. I just....wow. That nice start feels like 4 years ago already.
  6. We're in a crisis right now and we aren't even to the inevitable point at which we replace Hughes and his 48 mph fastball..... This is going to get ugly.
  7. That's one loose definition of "play" ya got there....
  8. Pfft, don't get fooled by OPS or any of that. He cut his K rate down to only 16 in 44 at-bats!
  9. Leave him in the rotation, getting the first overall pick again next year seems like our only way to add pitching.
  10. If you're going to hate Boshers, the only thing to possibly argue was for another bat. Berrios isn't going to pitch, so why call him up to sit in the bullpen? I could have sympathy for another bat though.
  11. Calling up Berrios at this point doesn't make sense. But when we need to go back to a five man rotation, I certainly hope it's him that we get.
  12. Pressley is fine to have in your bullpen. The problem isn't him, it's that he's being miscast as our best reliever. Which may may not be false, just really, really sad.
  13. Well, I suppose that depends on how close to "league average" he is. If he's above or below, how many teams are in the races, injuries, and so many other things are factors. But I think he'll have significant value.
  14. He is absolutely one of the most positive parts of the start of this season.
  15. They are going to have to be creative, that's for sure. I meant "big" as in "critical"....some serious tweaking has to happen.
  16. Fun game, typical Minnesota ending. Big offseason coming.
  17. I disagree that reliever depth and starter depth are the same or that one will affect the other. Breslow, so far as I can see, should have no bearing on that.
  18. I referenced starting depth, how does losing Breslow change that? What scenario do you see impacting that?
  19. I guess I'm not sure how cutting Breslow (for example) changes this?
  20. Right, our depth right now has to look something like this: Duffey Berrios ....... Haley? Tepesch? That could get real ugly, real fast.
  21. Maybe this joke has already been made, but every time I see this thread i read the title like I'm Sloth from the Goonies.
  22. They have been amazingly resourceful over the years, I wouldn't count them out, but age and depth are now both starting to wear on them. (Plus all those extra postseason games) We may be seeing the beginning of the end of their run.
  23. We outlasted the Hawks......season successful?
  24. It's fine to say replace Santana, I'm good with that, but that doesn't fix the issue this thread is about does it?
  25. The problem is that Santana supposed versatility is allowing the Twins to run a short bench. Swapping Santana for Vargas doesn't solve the problem. We need another bat.
