  1. I'm always on the lookout for small sample sizes and all, but Julien is closing in on last years mark of total times reaching base against a lefty.
  2. That look on Ron Washington's face. Yikes.
  3. There's a reason they got him for another guy who would have been DFA'd.
  4. And without a DFA or 60 day move they are basically down to Severino until Wallner is eligible? Yunior ain't much defensive help either.
  5. I just posted in the game recap thread that I'm now wondering if Farmer is hurting or playing through an injury. He's so far from himself it might explain a lot, including why Castro is playing short over him. Putting him on the IL would be a huge roster crunch and they might just need the warm body.
  6. Farmer being injured or hurting might make alot of sense. He looks lost on both sides of the ball and is much better on defense than we have seen. If he's fighting something but not on the IL because they just need warm bodies it would explain a lot, possibly including why Castro is playing short over him.
  7. Not having Correa out there regularly makes me appreciate his defense even more. Castro is just OK and I can think over several plays where Carlos would get an out that Willis didn't. Massive difference. I know there have been a couple odd plays but the eye test says Miranda has been pretty functional at third base. He'll never be Brooks anyone over there but if he's hitting it's good enough. Margot far below as advertised. I liked the idea of less bat more defensive in this roster spot but the defense has to be plusplus. If the defense is only average, give me a masher.
  8. Man he looks soooo lost up there. I have to take hope in that it's not injury but mental. Not that that's easier.
  9. To be fair, Farmer and I would both have walked there.
  10. I looked. Maybe my search skills need help. Help a brother out with a link.
  11. I can't see Korey Lee bat without hearing I'm Kodi, Kodi Leeeeeeee. https://youtu.be/DAPkOxRnh4c?feature=shared If you haven't been down this YouTube rabbit hole, it's worth your time.
  12. Prospects are not part of the 7-13 start of the big club. There are plenty of other threads for that.
  13. Dangit, here we go again. I have no reason to believe Falvine is meeting with Rocco multiple times daily. I would love to read some articles on a day in the life of Derek but I promise, he ain't setting pitch counts. More importantly, you are very vocal in your opinion that coaching doesn't matter, it's on the players. We've gone back and forth on it multiple times. You made a case in this thread that it's the wrong players but not accounted for those wrong players performing at 50% of their career norms. OK, Santana may be old but the rest don't have that excuse. How can you hold those two together? How can the front office drive poor performance but the coaching staff have minimal effect on these finely tuned specimens? If the coaching staff doesn't matter (per you) how can these specimens operate without President Derek telling them what to do? (Skipping at least 4 levels of staff)
  14. Now that we've gotten all the same old repeated front office wailing out of the way, I have a serious question. What could they realistically have done in the offseason that would offset the poor performances of the players who were already here to the point that this article would not be written? I agree completely that they own this roster entirely, but we are talking performances several notches below even the most conservative projections all across the roster. No matter how deeply (and incorrectly) you believe Falvine are pushing the buttons on pitch count and hitting plans, day to day on the field ain't on them. This will be a good article to bookmark for 6 months from now.
  15. I wanted to stay away but I'm committed to working against cryabout clickbait as a dedicated caretaker. Were I to fully take part, I'd actually add an entry for Twins media to take their share of blame.
  16. Anything outside of players and coaches is an invalid response. Ownership and front office are most certainly not responsible for the entire squad, save a couple guys, absolutely sucking for 20 games. Ol stupid cheap Pohlads didn't get a RH power bat! What's that have to do with Wallner? Or Kepler? Or Castro? These guys suck right now. No starter added! Whawhawha. Pablo got shelled by a 3-19 team last night. I might give a little credit for injury but the solid depth has a negative OPS+. That's back on the players.
  17. Larnach doesn't hit many cheap home runs, does he? WPA doesn't reflect but that was the play of the game. Two runs are obviously nice but at that moment the Pale Hose reverted to a 3-19 team. It was up to the Twins to not screw it up after that. As for Pablo, he was at roughly the single inning pitch limit they pull everyone at. Hoping nothing more. He didn't have it, but then the long inning took whatever was left.
  18. In a tie game it's probably the right play. He has to be thinking about going 47 innings of Manfred man.
  19. Is anyone still here? Might be in for one.
  20. Whatever that thing getting all the check swings is nasty tonight. 🤷‍♂️
