  1. I think the high priced mercenary for a short term will fit well for several years to come.
  2. Who cares what the payroll is if we have a group we are excited about running it back with? I been saying, its the most talent Twins fans have had to look at in a long, long time.
  3. Probably not a trust thing, more a live ammunition in the pen thing. The pale hose game could be anything, maybe Boushey or Varland. I've been hoping the Winders and Canterinos et al would get healthy in enough time to see what they can do out of the pen. Just one of them being solid is a big deal. Need to get a look before the deadline. I wouldn't expect to see the sheriff before the all star break.
  4. From the looks of the radar it would time for a quick inning.
  5. Just checking in after playing golf. Good lord some of you are miserable. It's a game of failures folks. Never forget.
  6. Trevor Bauer is only doing the minimum you would expect in the Mexican jumping bean league. Remember, Falvey knows him well. Don't hold your breath.
  7. I mean...but in the spirit of the question. The only non-mercenary position they would be likely to aquire is a high level controllable starting pitcher. All others get in line behind the kids.
  8. He's looked this way for years. Watched him in Wichita a bunch, his pulse is slow.
  9. He's different. He just looks so comfortable already. No plays in the field yet. 🤷‍♂️
  10. With Vasquez in the on deck circle behind him it kinda looks like a beer league softball squad. Lee is thicc.
  11. Got rained out after 6 holes. Stuck in a bar in North Platte of all places.
  12. Festavus and BLee day together. It's the futures game a couple weeks early.
  13. I would agree, he called it very tight but rulebook correct. However, speaking from lots of unfortunate experience, when you either bone a call or make a tight but right controversial call your odds of boning another skyrocket.
  14. At once doing a lot of work on that play.
  15. 11) He fails to return at once to first base after overrunning or oversliding that base. If he attempts to run to second he is out when tagged. If, after overrunning or oversliding first base he starts toward the dugout, or toward his position, and fails to return to first base at once, he is out, on appeal, when he or the base is tagged; Rule 5.09(b)(11) Comment: Runner who touches first base in overrunning and is declared safe by the umpire has, within the intent of Rule 5.08(a) "reached first base" and any run which scores on such a play counts, even though the runner subsequently becomes the third out for failure to return “at once,” as covered in Rule 5.09(b)(11).
  16. Beat me to it. I've been working on a song while I'm base umpiring. Think Rudolf the red nosed reindeer with 14u travel ball names. Everyone has a Jaxson, nobody spells it the same.
  17. I'm reliably informed they have history.
  18. Farmer and Margot, lefty assassins. As expected.
  19. It's interesting how an organization, sports or business, can unintentionally drift away from something due to lack of emphasis or trends. Then when the need arises it takes an old timer to say, hey, remember when we did xyz? It then takes time to spin back up that old technique. No idea what the Twins are emphasizing in Louies case, but fortunately for them this is a relatively easy issue to solve for sports teams. We can complain about payroll all we want but that's usually only for one player. Smart money spent in the player development/support organization effects everyone at a fraction of the cost of a middle reliever. If Louie needs help developing a sinker, that specific coach/guru and tech is available for a very reasonable price, especially if the payoff is a controlled front line starter. The rest of the org might benefit as well.
