  1. Gotta make that catch in the left field stands. Two hands while we’re learning.
  2. Wonder if there is a bit of pinch hitting lineup strategy today. Winds looks calm so the outfield should be pretty close to normal allowing flexibility in deploying Bader. With Hader and their other lefties it probably isn't a bad idea. Jeffers for Julien and Bader for the higher impact outfield spot. I liked seeing Larnach get the at bat against Hader but it went as expected. Different roles for different days and conditions. On a gusty day Bader in the outfield is more valuable than the pinch hit chance.
  3. But still a big win at this point and only likely to get better. They sent away a single prospect who slugs sub 0.200 in a wet paper bag and got value. They real question should be why did they spend such a high pick on Miller when he can't hit a lick? Good on them for getting out before the asset hit bottom but they certainly didn't get the pick value back. They did get someone who might be able to play at least.
  4. Love letting Larnach hit here. Not expecting the moon, but it’s nice anyway.
  5. 2-4 with about four of the worst swings you will see in a big league game. Dumb game.
  6. I'm digging the moves so far, I wouldn't let Julien hit there either. Larnach probably doesn't get back up and outfield defense is at a premium in the wind. Didn't pinch run for Jeffers with Kiersey because he's likely reserved for Waller after one more at bat. Most encouraging was Rocco was pressing the action on the bases when it was the L on L matchups specifically.
  7. Reminds me off my favorite chatter line, two hands while we're learning.
  8. Agreed, worth a try and Waller gets to start fresh next inning. Those are the plays that other teams always seem to pull off against the Twins.
  9. Murfee is reporting directly to kangaroo court for the France 0-2 pitch.
  10. I'll keep this in mind and not ask any more serious questions. You made a pretty strong statement and I was curious if you had put any thoughts in to it. My bad.
  11. RsBI too I suppose? I like results as well, but they have to come from sustainable data points.
  12. Well, sticking to hitting only, what are some data points you value more?
  13. OH, won't someone think of the players! This is the kind of thinking that's going to lead to a multiple year lockout in 2026. The trade offs for guaranteed contracts are not insignificant, nor should they be.
  14. On the bright side, sooner to bottom out, sooner you can start climbing. Can’t help but wonder if the new spring training was actually received as enthusiastically as was reported.
  15. I think this is the less obvious but more important trend. This guy for the Angels probably has no shot for any of the comp picks, rookie of the year etc but he's a guy they think can help. The mindset change probably has something to do with realizing that we need to use these guys while they are performing best and being older isn't always better. I think the advanced analytics mostly better informs the promotion process. They can tell right away if a pitch will play. Then check a few more boxes and get in the pen, son. Dude got shelled the first time out though. I do loath the word manipulation when used to discuss service time, thems the rules everyone agreed to, so no surprise that tweaking the rules to incentivize faster promotion helps. It's only part of the story though. The further discussion of the accelerated promotions is early extensions, we are seeing more of them as well. And unfortunately, it makes a tougher market for the solid role player vets.
  16. If I'm extending a catcher, I have to be able to project his bat playing at first base DH in the latter parts of the contract. Jeffers might fit that mold and I'd expect a step forward with the bat without the work of a catcher. It's a young man's position to hit and play defense, pick one. Reason number 47 not to invest in a long term first baseman.
  17. My goldfish is fine, I just disagree with that format. Bader and Larnach need called out as well. No wonder everyone is so negative. Meh, I like the thing on the mound less. I’m just waiting for Progressive TV from Progressive Field. Like the rivalry needed any more spice. Egregious (or elite) double dipping by Progressive.
  18. Tis, I’ve bit a hole in my lip.
  19. That would be misogyny, country style.
