Guardians 5, Twins 3: We've Seen This Ending Before
SanoMustGo replied to David Youngs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yeah, but the bullpen has gotten worse and worse as the season goes on. If something doesn't change, this team will not be in contention by September. There is NO WAY the Twins will stay in this with this bullpen.- 103 replies

Another close loss giveaway that you can't get back. It's easy to win 11-1 or 6-0. These types of losses will be felt after 162 is complete.

This is a team made of glass...too fragile physically and mentally...including the FO and coaches
-
Honestly, lucky win today. Once again, this team tried everything in their power to lose, but Cleveland wants to save the sweep for next week.

I think Rocco has proven to me he can't handle a pitching staff(If he is really making these decisions). I think he is a puppet for the FO.

Kiriloff will grow to be a solid(not great LF) Much better than Larnach
-
I was wrong about the FO being stupid. Urshela is a good 3rd baseman, Correa is a stud, and so is Polanco. I think Sano will be better this season. Jeffers is improving and we have good depth with Sanchez, Miranda, Lewis, Gordon & Arraez. I think the infield is in REALLY good shape. Buxton, Kepler, and Kiriloff could be really good offensively and overall, above avg defensively. Depth is not as good as the infield with Celestino & Larnach of course, but perhaps Lewis or Gordon could also serve in back-up roles. The bullpen was pretty darn good by the end of last season, and I think with all the options available, we find enough pieces to have at worst, an average to slightly above avg bullpen. We need one more really good starting pitcher, and have enough quality prospects, and enough MLB depth to make a trade to get one more high quality SP. I don't think the FO has come this far not make a deal for that final piece...one more quality starter. The team is not perfect, but other than the Dodgers, who is? This, with one more top starter, is a 90+ if healthy.

This is all about the highest paid players, and highest revenue teams. Period. They don't care about any level of competitiveness. Just effing greed. They all suck, and I will never pay to attend a baseball game ever again.(I haven't for years) I'll follow like I have the past few seasons. I hope eventually the league is damaged severely in some way. I say threaten to fold a half dozen teams, and lets see what happens...LOL

The Twins Bought Low on Austin Martin
SanoMustGo replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How many mlb teams would pay Berrios $30 million per? I know it only takes one, but it surely is less than 5(maybe only the Dodgers). There are so many horrible contracts in baseball. Look at the top 30 paid pitchers in baseball. How many of those contracts are are just God awful, ridiculous? I counted at least half, if not a bit more. -

Did the Twins Win or Lose the Trade Deadline?
SanoMustGo replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
LOL..good one. Almost every player in MLB history was in the minors at some point. Almost 100% were not guarantees. Apparently you do not like the way the game/business is structured. Based on what you are saying teams should never bring up players from the minors, since we don't know how they will perform. And, just about every player that comes up for the first time(some times multiple times) has some struggles. That last statement is down right silly, honestly...LOL- 60 replies

José Berríos Traded to Blue Jays
SanoMustGo replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
You could be every bit as wrong as my take on the situation. You have NO IDEA, NONE. Making alot of assumptions, all negative. Ohh and the team I love and follow has never been about ONE player. If that's the case, become a Blue Jays fan. In essence, that is what you are saying. Berrios is more important than the rest of the team. He is an above average starting pitcher, he is not Johan Santana, not even close.- 304 replies

José Berríos Traded to Blue Jays
SanoMustGo replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This is how the game/business works. Teams do this all the time, every year. How do you think Cubs and Nationals fans feel today? Two teams with recent world series rings, better records than the Twins, dismantling their teams, more than the Twins did. Unless you are teams like the Dodgers, you have to live with this. Look at how bad the Astros were for so long. The Padres, The Rays, Royals, etc...I could go on. How did those teams rebuild? The same way the Twins are. Will it work? Maybe, but holding on to players in order to win a few more games in a lost season, just to satisfy a few fans is not the formula that will work for an organization like the Twins. Unless ownership decides to carry a 220 million payroll. As far as wishful thinking goes, this isn't the NBA, where one or two players wins anything. Ask the Angels, who have had the best player in baseball for years.- 304 replies

José Berríos Traded to Blue Jays
SanoMustGo replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How in the world can ANYONE know this team will be worse in 2022? With all the prospects in the pipeline, young guys showing promise this season, and the money they will have to spend in the offseason, I wouldn't assume ANYTHING. Not directing this at you RpR, but anyone who is making assumptions about 2022 in late July 2021.- 304 replies

I think the FO is doing a really good job of filling the system with prospects. If they can get more for Maeda, Pineda, or if someone sells the farm for Buxton(and I mean SELLS THE FARM) go for it. Screw the 2021 season, I could care less if they win another game at this point. Ohh, and they will have plenty of money to spend in the offseason on FA's.

Game Score (Game 2): Tigers 5, Twins 4

Wheeling n' Dealing in The West - Dodgers and Padres
SanoMustGo commented on Tim's blog entry in Tim
We are losing now, and even if they return, I expect this team to lose next year too unless the entire pitching staff is gutted and the FO is able to rebuild it completely in ONE offseason. That will cost alot of money. If this team is bad again next year it just pushes the entire process back another season. This is going to happen one way or another in the next 1.5 years, so do it now. If the FO tries to patch this thing together the same way they have in the past and it fails again...you will have one pissed off fan base. Ohh, and the team defense needs an overhaul too. -

Game Recap: Twins 7, Mariners 2
SanoMustGo replied to Andrew Thares's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This whole thing about teams dealing with injuries is changing the game. The size of the contracts has alot to do with it. The Twins(and other teams obviously) are trying to protect their investments. They are thinking sacrifice today and think long term. The problem with this thinking is it becomes a perpetual cycle that never ends for some players(Buxton). There is a difference between paying injured, and playing with some pain. If Buxton tells the team he is ready to play, put him out there and find out. So what if he experiences some soreness, it's ok. As far as WS titles go, lets get the FO and management to build a damn team that can win a single playoff game first...LOL. 18 playoff losses in a row, and what is the common denominator? -

Ober did a good job against that Houston lineup too. He is not going to win a Cy Young, but he could be a decent starting pitcher down the road. Just because the guys mentioned above didn't turn out doesn't mean Ober won't. Time will tell. -
