  1. That's been my argument since the moment we signed him. I think many are missing this as the reason this signing could be a real problem once they start playing games.
  2. Bottom line is Gallo is a bad fit on a team full of players like him...ie bad situational hitters.
  3. For me it's about the poor situational hitting last two seasons by the Twins. Gallo is a horrible situational hitter...horrible. This team doesn't need any more of those.
  4. Rare is right...horrible situational hitter. AND, if you put him in the middle of the lineup..more often than not a rally killer. Unless you have great talent and situational hitters around him, and the Twins don't seem to have those..he could exacerbate last season's issues, unless everyone else around him improves. Bad roster construction by this FO.
  5. you are kidding, right? I've listed his high leverage numbers many times, and they are bad.
  6. This organization is also dumb enough to keep Garlick on the roster and trade one of the young guys
  7. That has been my complaint from minute one. After last season, I don't need to see any more of that. He most likely will make the problems the offense had last year worse. Unless he completely changes his approach to hitting.
  8. If true, just another example of his lack of situational hitting.
  9. That's not the problem..it's his lack of situational hitting. We have enough guys who are poor situational hitters. He will hit a bunch of HR's when the game is not in doubt, either way. That's not what makes a winner. He does not help a team win based on his situational numbers. In fact, he fits right in with most everyone else in the lineup. I'll only praise him IF helps The Twins win. Until then, he is the LAST thing this team needs.
  10. I'll expect the worst. I need to see him produce...He should be playing top level softball...not MLB.
  11. Well, this organization has the market cornered on these type of signings....LOL
  12. This FO can't build a balanced quality roster. They got lucky in 2019.
  13. I don't want Gallo getting ab's over those three either. But apparently the FO isn't smart enough to see this either.
  14. Maybe he needs a change of scenery. If I was him I would would want to play for a better organization.
  15. Trade veterans of value and rebuild. The delusion of this FO and these foolish signings make me believe the FO doesn't understand how to construct a roster. They got lucky in 2019 and now think that is the formula to compete. Hasn't worked in the 3 years since. No, the 2020 team would not have had a good record if they had to play games against teams other than the AL Central.
  16. That would probably be a statistical outlier. I will need to see evidence of this being a good signing before I have any confidence. I have no faith that this organization can compete. Let's face it, 2019 was also a statistical outlier for this franchise since 2010. And yes, the 2020 team was not that good. They got lucky since they only played games against an awful AL central. And that team also finished 26-24 after a 10-2 start. Other than 2019 the Twins have been average to garbage Going forward I will need to see it on the field, not just on paper or someone's opinion. Right now I see a 75 win team unless I see a better record at the end of the 2023 season. Since they signed the 19th corner outfielder on the 40 man, they will probably trade a young guy instead of Kepler, which means more of the same going forward.
  17. When he is hitting .160 in June, we will know his plan. High draft choice.
  18. The only thing we'll get from this FO "pivot" is a pulled groin.
  19. so our main competition just got better
  20. Is there a plan after "z"?
  21. Yep, straw that broke the proverbial camel's back as far as the FO is concerned.
  22. This is how he makes the Twins better...Wow, he is a career .166 hitter in high leverage situations. Late in close games he hits .156. Tie game he hits .179.
