  1. If the FO isn't serious about improving the club through trades/FA, would rather let the kids play and lose 95-100 then watch a bunch of washed up retreads(Gallo, Pollock, Turner, etc...) lose 85-88.
  2. Turned down 13MM per season? If that's the case, spend and extra 5 mm per and sign Bientendi.
  3. don't want the hitters too comfortable in the box
  4. that's my heater...4 seam with alot of late movement
  5. If they need bullpen help I'll sign for the league minimum. I'm 57 and can hit 75 on the gun.
  6. yeah, there was somethIng about signing signing Scott Klingenbeck for bullpen help.
  7. Gallo sucks...period. I would rather have them sign Butch Husky than Gallo.
  8. Joey Gallo? FFS...this FO sure likes their low contact, no position or corner outfiled players. If they sign him, I will root against this team. What a joke. Where will Turner play? Probably a good clubhouse guy. AJ Pollock? again, now we will have what? 8 corner outfielders. The only outfielder I would even consider is Bientendi, as he is actually a good player. If this is who they are looking at, gut this team and start over.
  9. This team, as constructed, is not a contender. They are full of injury prone, unproven players. There are some players with potential, but most of them are slow, plodding marginal corner outfielders or players without a position. We can only bat 1 DH per game. The pitching staff is a surgeon's dream...LOL. At this point I need to see evidence in order to have confidence.
  10. Richard Dawkins once said "Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence". This seems to fit perfectly with the state of MLB for organizations like the Twins. I think the only way organizations with owners like the Twins can compete is for such owners to sell to another group willing to invest. This is a family business for the Pohlad's and that means maximizing profits before anything...including investments back into the business. That includes investing in the scouting/player development, which I'm not sure they are doing in a way that makes up for the inability to play at the top of the FA market. For these reasons I have come to the conclusion this organization is going to put out a bad product for some time. So the question is after 2 losing seasons, and not seeing any legit reason to think our injury prone prospects and players can compete, is "when does the real rebuild begin?"
  11. surprise...I hope his shoulder blows
  12. With 2 knee injuries ALREADY. I am not counting on Lewis to ever be the player we all hoped he would be. Most likely more knee problems going forward. Trade him now for pitching while he still has some value.
  13. With the financial climate of the sport, how do you legitimately compete now without an overpay or two? No, we are not Tampa, no one is.
  14. I frankly don't care what the FO does, as long as it doesn't lead to a 3rd consecutive losing season. No thanks to re-living post 92 to 2000 seasons again.
  15. They spent some money signing Bell, which worries me greatly regarding the Twins chance to compete. If they go into the season without making some important moves, we could be looking at the basement like 2021. Unless, that is, all the prospects take a big step forward, and this team can stay healthy(not confident)
  16. Question is, are the Twins doing a good job of developing players? If you have good development, then you fill in the gaps with trades/FA. I'm going out on a limb and say if this season is like the last 2, we go full rebuild. Also can't have more of your productive roster on the IL than on the field. We have a few top prospects who are probably at a cross roads.
  17. Then raise the payroll to 170 million, and we can get everything we want.
  18. Almost 0% chance of that. Sano...gone too expensive to get nothing in return. Sanchez will probably get 10 million out of someone, guessing he will be gone too. Correa, odd are he will be gone. Bundy and Archer...next. Pagan...goner. Garlick and Cave will get minor league contracts at best. And there most likely be a trade or two. So no chance of everyone coming back the way teams turn over today.
  19. 42 runs allowed over 150 games? That's probably the equivalent of 10 more wins. So, now the record is 83-67 instead of 73-77. That is a HUGE difference.
  20. If they finish 75-87 or 76-86, which is bordering on likely, that's 2 consecutive seasons more than 10 games under. I think next season is the fork in the road which may determine the direction in 2024 and beyond. What I mean by that is great improvement AND health, or potentially massive changes everywhere.
  21. Well, it could easily get worse before it gets better. If next year is like the last two, clean house, and start over.
  22. They are one of the worst teams in baseball now. I see 2-3 more wins. Year 2 of the rebuild is almost complete.
