  1. Both ownership and Falvey are to blame for the current blight of the Twins. My question or concern is that now that we have zoll budgeting payroll, is ownership going to cut payroll more? With a scaled back budget i wouldn't be surprised if some or all of Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers, and Buxton are traded.
  2. This is a sign to me that this currently constructed roster has very little chance of being competitive. If we are not going to be competitive anyway, then please trade Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers, and yes Buxton too. Ryan and Jeffers should get you a nice return. Lopez too. Plus his 21.5 million salary for each of this year and next could be better used elsewhere. Buxton should kd be traded for mercy if for no other reasons. He deserves to be on a strong contending team. Not wasting the rest of his career with a clueless organization.
  3. IMO there were many more negative moves than positive. While most, including me, were excited about signing Correa it turned out to be a big bust and a big bust. When the payroll was decent around the 150 million level Falvey did a terrible job of budgeting that payroll in part by giving too much of it to one player. The Mahle trade was a disaster. So many to mention. I am glad Falvey is gone but the timing and chaos left behind is typical of the franchise of late.
  4. Nice article Seth. Nothing new here only the same dumpster diving philosophy the Twins have pushed especially during the Falvey regime. The only thing different is the names have changed. I am going to be very curious the shape of the team and franchise takes after Falveys departure. I can make a good guess that the Twins and their payroll take a further dive. Perhaps this is a big reason why Falvey is gone. I certainly don't expect them to greatly increase payroll after the sold 20% ownership in said team to help get out of debt. So i wouldn't be surprised now that Falvey is gone that one or all of Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers and Buxton are dealt. Maybe even before the regular season starts. I was never a Falvey fan. I thought he should have been fired when Baldelli left. But Falveys departure with spring training just around the corner further questions their direction and adds to the chaos. Im so curious what if anything of any substance will be changing.
  5. Great story. Im not a Falvey fan and IMO he needed to go when Baldelli was dumped. Anyway my guess is there was philosophical differences and in particular major payroll differences that Falvey didn't agree with. This "mutual" parting of the ways comes at a peculiar time. This organization keeps shooting itself in the foot. Im guessing the payroll will stay between 100-110 This year and likely less. I would expect the Twins to actively trade all or some of Lopez, Jeffers, Ryan, and Buxton. We are going to become the Pittsburgh Pirates of the American league. Maybe even the Miami Marlins. Unbelievable.
  6. IMO the Twins should trade Ryan (to get a decent return while you can) Lopez ( to save $) Buxton (because of a good haul and because he deserves to be with a contender) and Jeffers because he will be a free agent soon and it is very unlikely they are making any long term contract commitments.
  7. Another meaningless trade by Falvey. He loves to trade for pitchers with arm troubles. Since Kaminska had Tommy John surgery in March I believe, he won't be available perhaps until mid season?? Anyway I hope he does well but I don't this and the other moves made so far are moving the needle at all on the 2026 Twins. Yawn, Yawn!!
  8. That's true why not trade Jenkins and the other so-called can't miss prospects. We have had dozens of these supposedly great prospects either regress or totally fizzle out. IMO since they dont appear to be serious contenders this season i would absolutely trade Ryan and Lopez while you can get a good return.
  9. Yes the Twins propaganda machine has been spewing it out for a while now. Did the Twins buy Twins Daily. Ive been a Twins fan forb60 years. Yes that makes me old. But the Falvey years have been a joke. Obviously ownership has a big hand in that. But I get so tired of the same thing every year. Just like your article names great prospects. They don't mean much until they can perform at the major league level. Hope and hype is what they sell every year. Ive been so gullible to believe it over the past few years. Not anymore. Twins are going to have to prove to me that they are good. They have been bad in most areas the past several years. They've missed playoffs 4 if past 5 years. IMO they have a lot more roster building to be taken seriously. They may only be contenders with the White Sox for last placenin the Central in 2026
  10. There has obviously been some animosity between Joe Ryan and the Twins over the years. I will not be surprised to see Ryan traded at some point. They should trade him while they can get something decent trade for him. It seems very unlikely that they are going to sign him to a long term deal anytime soon. Not with this ownership group and new payroll budgets. Anyway Ryan has been good the first half of each of the past two seasons and has been poor in the second half. This team is nowhere near contending. Trade Ryan, Lopez and even Buxton while you can get something good for them.
  11. Same old bs from Falvey year after year. In present form this roster is full of many has been, many can't miss top prospects that haven't come close to making it, adding players to 1 year contracts, picking up leftovers from the mlb dollar store. So far that plan of Falvey really hasn't produced much. Also when the payroll was the highest in the AL Central in the $150 million range he did a lousy job of distributing those dollars. Yes I believe they can be contenders in 2026. Contenders with the White Sox for last place.
  12. Well they did sign a few good or at least decent players late off season last year. So what good does it do to sign players other teams don't want to 1 year contracts? What kind of a commitment or indication of planning is that? Seems rather foolish. So what if you get a couple decent players and make no commitment to them or the team? They still finished 70-92 last year with record low attendance. We have missed playoffs 4 of last 5 years and played very boring undisciplined baseball. Falvey has been here 10 years. In that time we have only had one year with 90 or more wins. This is progress? Even if they sign more players to one year deals it doesn't show any commitment to winning and it's sustainability for the Twins.
  13. None of the internal options move the needle at all. Im pretty sure that's where our bullpen comes from. I do like the Roger's signing even though he is definitely on the down slide of his career. Good low budget possible good outcome signing.
  14. Leave Stanton out of any potential trade. He's too expensive even with buy downs and more importantly doesn't fit it with the Twins. Yes trade Ryan. Trade Lopez too. Lopez is good but doesn't fit in with the Twins salary structure. Kind of a luxury on a likely non competitive team. Ryan should return a good haul if he is traded before the season starts. IMO if the CBA negotiations are only leading to the lockout I can't see many teams moving much of value if there may be little or no 2027 season. Buxton should be traded too. He deserves the chance to play on a co.petitive team with a chance to win a championship.
  15. I too don't understand why the Twins haven't already traded Ryan, Lopez, Buxton, and Jeffers. With an anticipated payroll of now $108 million, too much of it is tied up into too few players. Attendance was lousy all year even when those players were on the team. And all these great can't miss prospects haven't proven anything yet. A lot of wishful thinking for 2026. I hope they do well but I just don't see it. Im expecting another record low attendance year this year. Trading this year at the deadline could be interesting if progress is not made on a new CBA. Why trade then when it's possible there won't be much of a season. Innings 2027. Trade those players now whole you can maybe get a decent return.
  16. Ridiculous idea. It's Friday. It has to be one of those sarcastic click bait articles. Hello? Anyone there TD?
  17. I think it's a great and affordable signing. Do I think this makes them a 500 team? No way, not close. Way too many holes on this team. To many top expectations from either unproven or oft injured players. Same old hope and hype. I want it all to work but for the first time in decades I'm not going to be so gullible to believe all the bs from Falvey. They are going to have to prove it to me. Attendance? I'm sure down again this year. Of the 81 home games 17 of them are in April. Not the best drawing month for the Twins.
  18. Just another in a long list of who cares moves made by the Twins. Since they are going to be awful, I still think they should trade Lopez and Ryan and probably Jeffers and Buxton too while they can get something quality prospects for them.
  19. So where has all this "patience" gotten the team? Missed playoffs 4 of past 5 years, a perpetual state of minor additions that may offer very little help, signing guys very few other teams want, signing low level players and hope something sticks and further alienating a diminishing fan base. Bottom line is its dumpster diving ad nauseum. It's the Twins way. It's boring and although you can occasionally get a bargain with left over scrubs you mostly get another boring losing tea.. its the Falvey Way.
  20. Well yet another in a long list of articles about great prospects. This has been going on for years with the Twins. And almost steady since Falvey took over. That is sell hope and hype. That's all the Twins have. It is a good article though it's the.e is so tiring.
  21. Yes trade those players soon while you can get something decent for them. The team is going to be bad anyway. Plus all of Ryan, Lopez and Buxton each have their own injury and at times performance issues. Trade them while you still can.
  22. This off season is very typical of the Falvey regime Twins maybe even more so. Don't sign anyone that can really help your team. Wait until late in off season when the prices may come down. Go dumpster diving at the dollar store for what's left over. Nothing has changed. They sell hope and hype. Both of which just lands you at the bottom of the barrel. At least the ticket sale department won't be overworked.
  23. Nice article. Since the Twins appear to have NO intention of being competitive in 2026, a decision to keep Ryan and Lopez, and Buxton and perhaps Jeffers shows how incompetent Falvey is. If the plan is to not be competitive you should trade those players while there value is at a peak. Why keep them if you don't care about winning anyway?
  24. Just another in a long line of Twins can't miss prospects and hopefuls. Just more of the same bs from the Falvey regime. Hope and hype. That's all they have to sell to the fans and it isn't much.
  25. Just more bs propaganda from Twins trying to stir up even a little bit of interest. Article is way over blown. Seems to me we have wrecked more young players development and careers than helped. Too many can't miss prospects do just that: they miss. Click bait article? It obviously isn't serious!
