  1. Nothing changes with this organization. Considering keeping a washed up over hyped player like Outman because they may lose him if they DFA him. No options left. But other players may get sent down or traded because Outman has no options. There's a lot of negativity here regarding Larnach but I would take him anytime over Outman. Then you have the great Shelton telling us how great many of the young players played this spring but sent them out anyway. This team will be lucky to win 70-75 games this year as it is. Oh my. What are we doing
  2. Like always with Twins prospects it's always way too much hype. If and when he debuts in 2026 Jenkins must play everyday for better or worse as they say. Too many great prospects have been ruined as the Twins call up a player that plays full time in Minors only to play part time on the big squad. The Twins do a great job of ruining a lot of these so called can't miss prospects.
  3. I figure them to be middle of the pack. But at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. They are just suspects until they prove otherwise. We have had plenty of those the past several years.
  4. Interesting article in that it just validates what most of us have been thinking. That this team has very little chance of being competitive now and no direction for the future development of the team. I hope i am wrong but this could be one of the bleakest years and outlook in recent memory.
  5. Well you can't get much worse than Ober was last year especially counting on him to be good. 2026 is going to be difficult for sure. 70 wins? Maybe 65?
  6. The names in the bullpen, with or without Topa, don't instill much confidence. Most of them are cartoons and hopefuls that were discarded by most of the other teams. Topa is no better or worse than the rest of them IMO.
  7. 3 catchers? It doesn't seem too reasonable to me. But with this messed up roster, who knows??
  8. Is this all Twins Daily can write about? Another monthly installment of preaching to us how great Buxton is. Oh please move on.
  9. Pretty typical Lewis stuff. Great to be cautious during spring training games. I would expect that when the season is over Lewis will have wound up playing in about 75 games.
  10. Good article. Looking at all those names doesn't instill much confidence in the upcoming season. Brutal roster. But good article.
  11. OMG another example of analytics on steroids. Yes even the goofiness is affected by dreamed up and stretched out stats designed to make a player look a lot better than he is. Who cares if he doesn't have options left? Who cares if they cut him and lose him for nothing? Let him go.
  12. That list of players competing for the last roster spots doesn't instill much confidence for a competitive team. What a mess the Twins have. Plus their current payroll of aroun
  13. Bottom line is it appears to me they will be out of contention by memorial day. Their attendance will drop again this year. I just don't see where they have done anything to i.prove the team this off season .
  14. I agree with the article. Ryan should have been traded well before Lopez injury. Lopez should have been traded way before this too. He had an injury riddled season last year and with a high salary on a low budget team he should have been dealt. Ryan the past two seasons has had great first half but very mediocre second halves. He should be dealt while the Twins can get something good for him. This teams lack of any meaningful additions this off season is a clear indication they had no intention of being competitive in 2026. They should also give serious consideration to trading Jeffers as he will be a free agent soon. Ask Buxton to waiver hus no trade clause and send him out too.
  15. So sad to see Pablo go down for the season. Now we will get to see if their starting depth is as great as they have been telling us. I have my doubts
  16. Just a lot of what ifs and hopefully attached to the entire Pitching staff especially the bullpen. We have a couple of decent possible additions but mostly again it's pitchers that the rest of baseball didn't want. I do hope they do well but certainly not counting on it.
  17. Yes i agree at this point to not trade for or sign another starting pitcher to replace Lopez. They should have traded this off season. Im not saying that because of the injury per se. Im saying it because his contract is too high at 21.5 million this year. With the current payroll at around $103 million it made nice sense to keep Pablo. The money budgeted there could have been used for the bullpen or other positions. All those starting pitchers we acquired and have had are pretty much suspects or other teams discarded pitchers. This is a good year to see if any of them are any good. I also think they should trade both Joe Ryan and Ryan Jeffers to get something decent. Jeffers is approaching free agency. Ryan not long after. I just don't see the current ownership investing in any major contract extensions. Nows the time to.move them. The team will be lucky to win 70-75 games with them. May as well move on for perhaps something better
  18. Losing Pablo is a big blow no doubt. But lets face the facts that this team was going nowhere with him. This team is weak in so many areas that even with Lopez pitching once a week wouldn't have helped all that much. Just settle in for a long boring summer of some of the worse Twins baseball ever.
  19. Interesting group of bullpen candidates. Im sure one or two of them will be ok. Not overly impressed with the large number of experienced pitchers that were rejected by most of all the rest of the league. But some one will make it at least through attrition. Twins philosophy in vogue here: hope and hype
  20. The Twins reporting that they were in on Peralta or Valdez is a joke. More Twins bs. Just trying to save face in my opinion. Even if it was true their reputation lends one to question it. It makes no sense to keep a 21 million starting pitcher in Lopez when the payroll is so low. I hope hes not hurt too badly. Trade him and Ryan soon while you can still get something good for them. Ryan had sub par second half each of the past two years. Jeffers should be traded because free agency is coming soon for him. I doubt the Twins are going to sign him to an extension. The should go into a full rebuild. This team left over from the trade deadline was very poor. They finished like 70 and 92 . The roster they are putting out now anyway looks like a AAAA team at best.
  21. Oh no. Outman is out of options? We might have to DFA him? There goes our World Series championship. Outman should be out. I'd much rather have a proven major leaguer like Larnach. Although his career has been derailed or ruined by Rocco. He still had like 125 hits last year at or near the most on the team. Is he great? No. But he at least would be an improvement over Outman. Outman is just taking up space on the 40 man roster.
  22. Trevor Plouffe is good to have on the broadcasts. However he so clearly rides the fence when talking about the team, especially when it plays poorly. That's understandable. He is nit going to say much negative about the boss who signs his paycheck. I don't think too many of us would. I don't think the 2026 Twins will be competitive at all. In that vein I think it would be better if they traded Lopez and his 21.5 million salary this year and get some real bullpen help with real decent players not the scrap heap. I'd hate to lose Lopez. But the Twins need to move him and Ryan and Jeffers and Buxton to solidify a direction and some future.
  23. Let's face the fact that these pitchers the Twins have been getting are, for the most part are rejects that other teams discarded. It's the same old thing. Hoping that one or two of them make the roster and maybe make it through the season. It's just the way it's done here in Twins Territory. Sign players off the scrap pile and try to sell it to fans as a big deal. The so called closely contested American League central race will in all likelihood will be competitive for the Twins. Competitive for last place
