    If I read one more article about the value of pitch framing, I think I will scream!!! Calling Balls and Strikes should be done by technology. Its almost 2017 for goodness sakes. There is no reason balls and strikes should be called the same way it was in 1917.

    Luke Bard. He is back pitching. He has great bloodlines. Everyone has forgotten him. Sounds like a breakout candidate to me.

    Somewhere between 75 and 100 wins is most likely. It depends on if we win enough games against top starters.

    options to screw things up. If Buxton isn't the Starting CF out of Spring Training, it will be Molitor's fault. These CF Options should be irrelevant.

    Never ever ever trade an everyday player for a pitcher. You will end up the loser most of the time

    Remember Carl Pavano ? He signed a good contract with the Yankees and struggled with injuries for 4 years. Then he signed a contract with Cleveland, he pitched pretty well and the Twins traded for him. We got 3 good years from him. It never pays to give up too soon.

    !) About the Twins being closed mouthed about signings and trades, it is frustrating. But that is why we read Twins Daily >>> to speculate & rant. 2) With Iwakuma out of the league, the Mariners are a much easier team to beat. 3) With so many of the Twins minor League players on the cusp of being Major League ready, why would the Twins invest heavily on a reliever ? but I wish the Twins had gotten Chapman anyway 4) On MLB network, Terry Ryan just said that "perhaps the Twins brought Buxton up a "tad" early. "

    Bring back Revere ? Bring back Span ? Rosario takes one OF position for sure. Buxton has a history of starting slow on a new level and then catching fire. He already has proved himself in AAA. Unless he is completely lost in Spring Training, I expect Buxton to start the year in CF. Don't forget Danny Santana. He became a passable fielding CF in 2014 and he could do so again. I'd like to see him start in LF. and do we really want to give up on Arcia ? His bat should play. I don't see room for Revere or Span. Use the $$ to extend the contracts of Sano and Rosario and Berrios and anyone else who looks like they will be Twins Fixtures.

    As I read this I started to laugh with delight. It is so purely logical, that no Major League team would ever do it. Then I laughed some "And if the team is out of it, bring in the take-one-for-the-team guy: Nolasco. (I’d actually consider Nolasco over Meyer for the fourth spot in the relief quartet, but it’s not a real TwinsDaily post without taking a potshot at Nolasco, so I’m using him here". I loved it

    I think Duensing should get another year in the Twins bullpen. I think he is due for a healthy year in 2016 and will be better than most experienced relievers we could sign to a one or two year contract. He'll be worth the money.

    Good riddance to Hicks. I doubt if he will ever fulfill his "promise". I predict he will self destruct sooner rather than later. As for Murphy, we will see what we have once he starts playing for us. Twins fans are spoiled by so many years of outstanding catchers (AJ & Joe). Lets hope that Murphy can be an adequate placeholder until Turner or Garver are ready to take over.

    Park better be out of the Park We already have Sano, Arcia and AB Walker, what the heck do we need with another power hitter.

    We expect these things for 2016. - Nobody will be happy with Ryan's solution to the Twins Catcher weakness. - Mauer to continue his batting decline. - Dozier to produce in the same fashion as 2014/2015 - 3rd base confusion...Plouffe?? Sano ?? who plays where ? - Escobar to be the regular SS - Rosario, Hicks, Buxton, Kepler, Arcia is too many promising Outfielders to keep playing regularly. - Our 7 starter candidates will be slightly improved over the 2015 starters. - The bullpen will be overhauled before the season starts. - Molitor will be the same semi-competent manager he was in 2015 Anything else will be a SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE!

    Kubel & Bartlett could un-retire. That would make fro a wonderful reunion. Where is Baker, Slowey, Blackburn & Pavano ? Surely there is something left in those old arms ?

    During 2015, before a game, I never felt our starters were over matched. After living through 2011 - 2014, that was a significant improvement. Each of our 2016 Starter candidates has something positive to be said about them. The biggest problem that acquiring and Ace would do is that it could delay the progress of Duffey, Berrios and other pitchers coming up through the system. Nolasco's 4 year contract seemed a fair deal at the time. However, after 2 years of difficulties, the prospect of having Nolasco for 2 more years is not easy to After 2 years of limited success, the idea of pitching Nolasco instead of Duffey, Berrios or May os frustrating for Twins Fans. In my opinion, the Twins need to risk their future on the development of their young pitchers. Acquiring an Ace might help get the Twins into the post season, but no guarantees come with that.

    I'd sign Robinson to a minor league contract in January and not before. I'd also give him an opt out clause, if he is not brought up to the Twins by a certain date.

    I'd replace Molitor with Gardy in a heartbeat. Sadly it will not happen.

    Trade target ? The Twins don't need any trade targets. A trade target takes up roster space. The Twins have development projects. They have enough development targets to fill 2 lineups. Lets find out who we have and what they can do. Santana, Vargas, Buxton, Sano, Hicks Rosario, Arcia, Kepler, Walker, Berrios, Duffy, and the whole dang 2015 Twins & AAA pitching staffs need to be developed or discarded

    How lucky the Twins are. In almost all organizations, Max Kepler would be #1. With the Twins he is #3. The next few years are going to be fun fun fun.

    Navaretto at #20 means the Twins are almost tragically weak at the catching position.
