  1. Saving Topa for the possible save.......
  2. Padres and Dodgers are fun to watch. Padres now only 2 games back. Last night the game ended on a freak triple play by the Padres up 4-2 with the Dodgers' 9 batter batting with the bases loaded and no outs and Otani, Betts, and Freeman coming up.......
  3. No link bar on top of the TD home page to the game thread. It looks like even the TD staff is tired of the season and are checking out. Must be tough, coming up with stories you want to write with hope, seeing is how ridiculous they become. Tough time to be a Twins fan. 2 games out of the best record in MLB before the start of play on August 18, Tragic.
  4. None of our guys on the field look like they even want to be there. Total despair. Total surrender. How they have played for the home crowd this last 6 weeks is pathetic. Brooks Lee appears so far overrated it is comical. Historical choke. It had to be the Twins. Ready for the bag on your head? The roster construction was so overrated with optimism. It makes the home sportswriters look pretty strained.
  5. There is no pace. It is a made up thing by pacers.
  6. A lot of words spent on what is not going to happen. No playoffs this year, even though they were 17 games above .500 on August 18. Hell, if they finish above .500, it will now be a win. Call me negative if you like, but when the prediction turns out right, well...... reality is not to be afraid of.
  7. No problem. There are a ton of drafted SS that can't play SS to watch flail in center field.
  8. All that cocky narcissistic selfie pic crap, scrap meat roll being their spirit animal, and here they are. It looks even more foolish, now.
  9. They could always enlist Tonya Harding and need an injury replacement.......
  10. Lewis used up all his "hero" last year. The biggest mistake he is guilty of, is perhaps, "I don't do slumps". Lewis is reminding me of Danny Valencia, who had an incredible last half of a season to start his career, and was toast after. Never was really given a position, but was used mostly at third.
  11. ..... only after they let the meat go by down the middle, and the close pitches on the edges of the zone looking for walks.
  12. Time to replace the starter with the dregs of the bullpen. Encouraging.
  13. Because they listened to the fancy stat guys say "RBI are a meaningless stat" and they didn't matter, and it is all luck? And were busy trying to get walks?
  14. And maybe called third strikes, maybe total called strikes. They sure like to watch close pitches begging for walks. But I have no data. Don't know how to look it up. But it feels like that watching these games.
  15. Batting practice day for Ober. 6 hits and 7 outs. Chumping it.
  16. Morneau might need a sub sometime.... 😇
  17. Pretty sure, eh? Translate: you actually have no clue and it is all repeated supposition.
  18. Neither was Santana. They both either thought the only chance was the other guy or that it would go foul. Pathetic effort. First Lopez, and now Ober. Leading the rotation. Good thing they had a day off to get some energy going. This team has turned into a real joke. Maybe the crowd should all leave early to give them a very strong message.
  19. “The problem wasn’t the decision-making—it was the options available” The options available are perhaps the largest part of the decision making, especially now. In fact, in this case, it was the decision.
  20. How about that pace? Yup. Pace does not exist. No need to ever really project it. Individually, or as a team. But hang on to it if you must, pacers. Baldelli was announced to be next up after the break on the post game, but he was a no show. Then sent out the kid, Matthews, instead. Talk about leadership. Oh well. Maybe he was in the clubhouse injecting the high paid vets and best in MLB bullpen and fearsome mostly low average and mostly mediocre OPS offense with that famous Baldelli inspiration. Or maybe he was attending to all the players that say they are better than this and trying to stop them from all choking in 28 part unison. All expanding the playoffs does is put teams that don't deserve to be competing for the championship into the mix, and tends to give us a World Series of at least one mediocre team on a streak, instead of the World Series that teams actually earned the right to be there in the playoffs AND the marathon regular season.
  21. This team would rather pop up and strikeout, than advance a runner with a bunt.
  22. And once again, they just watch a close pitch for strike 3. Pathetic. 0-30. Nice round number, eh, Baldelli?
