  1. I was responding to the comment on the last Correa at bat.
  2. Miranda didn't look like he would make it home after he came around third. Gassed already.
  3. I always wonder what the ump is thinking in a 3-0 count, where the pitcher wasn't close at all on any of the pitches, and the guy gets closer, but still outside by a couple inches --- "well alright. that's better. close enough I guess" or something? I think he just gets tired of calling balls or something. It's a pisser, though.
  4. If only Martin would have jumped higher and caught that Raleigh fly ball in the 7th....... it was just a little thing...... “Obviously, we've played the last two weeks of really clean, really good baseball,” Okert said. “So I feel like after watching that for the last two weeks, it looks even worse. We've just got to clean up those little things and move on to tomorrow.” Funny how when Lewis hits a grand slam he is the stud and hero, but when the other team does it to the Twins, it is just our pitchers fault, and not the batter's glory. The 3-2 slider is a strikeout if the batter swings through the ball, ala Devers a couple of days ago (albeit, that one was low midde and just below the zone and this one was a middle middle hanger, but many batters miss, just the same).
  5. KC and Cleveland both winners already today. Time for the boys to get rid of the sausage and selfies and rely on focus and skill instead of superstition and narcissism. After a rough start to the year, Kirby is on his usual roll, with a 0.50 ERA his last 3 starts. Margot in left. Ouch. Well, that is the handicap, I guess, (like we need to be handicapped).
  6. Yet, 3 errors already this season. And some that weren't called errors only because official scorers are charity workers. Sure, there are some plays he has made that are very fine, as most first baseman should. Reputation doesn't make his fielding better this year.
  7. I love it when people say "I was there" at the game in person, inferring that because of that they have a better take on what happened. That they can see the nuances of the pitcher better. That that makes their opinion more valid. Ha. When I go to games, I have a single view, no close up replays from multiple angles, and am seeing the game, even if close up in great seats, from a distance. There is no way I can fool myself and pretend I get to see the game better if I am in the stadium. I go to be there, in the community of baseball, enjoying the ballpark and the game, sure. I love to go to games. But there is no way I see the game better or with more acuteness. In fact, just the opposite.
  8. Margot should never have been acquired. Cut him NOW! Jackson, Margot, Santana, Olkert. Strangers for a year, or in Margot and probably Jackson’s case, until they are cut and have caused even more loses. They don’t have to play every game. Innings eater at 6 ERA is foolish. Jeffers losing that 2nd out pop up in the 7th sure didn’t help. Baldelli said he had a well rested bullpen in the post game. When can Ober pitch in the 90s for pitch count?
  9. Oh. Okay. Say he caught it, and there is one out (and would you call it a real fine play then? A great catch? Do you call it a routine catch, a ball that almost made it out of the park and bounced off the top part of the wall?). Then how does the game end? Big difference, eh?
  10. I can't believe the management of this game. Even with all the other eggs Baldelli has laid, this one is really a pisser. Sucking the momentum out of the recent good play.
  11. That was a tough play to make. Even if it had hit his glove, it would not have been a error. That play was not why we got here.
  12. Baldelli just has it in his mind that Alcala is going to be a long relief guy. Not reading the room/game. He is basically throwing in the towel and sacrificing this game. First with Jackson, and then with Alcala
  13. Absolutely. That is where it all started. Just like the game Ryan pitched.
  14. Watson was telling Kepler to go for home way sooner. Showed on the whole field replay.
  15. More than odd. I'll chime in as it is just stupid.
  16. This game is now nauseating. Farmer is just desperate.
  17. And that is why Baldelli is not a manager I want to keep. Over and over and over and over he does this. Takes out hot hitters for our scrubs. Yep. I said it. Comparative scrubs. The last picked on the playground. But Julien, the guy hitting .202 and striking out at an unbelievable pace? Yes, even Julien. After all, Farmer is hitting .145 against mostly opposite side pitching. His forte, eh? Edit: and Farmer doubles! Ha! Score one for the stat sheet and Baldelli.
  18. Raleigh a .206 hitter. Like giving up a home to Julien 😇 Baldelli calling all the right shots today, eh? The two bullpen picks of Falvey. Ouch.
  19. Learning that sometimes they just don't belong was useful when I was teaching people to hang glide. Sometimes people want it very bad, but just don't have the right stuff. At least playing baseball, the consequences aren't gonna kill you. Probably.
  20. That totally sucked for the Twins and Jeffers. Could very well affect this ball game greatly. That would have been 2 outs. Gotta see the ball to catch it. Would have been routine pop up to catcher. Morneau always has such compassionate excuses for our guys.
  21. Ryan and Ober get the B pen. Both close games, Ryan behind by 2, Ober ahead by two.
