  1. That didn't take long for Funderburk to give up the thunder.
  2. But it was Lopez against the Yankees. Lopez only had to throw 5 pitchers in the 6th.
  3. Does a pitcher lose a quality start, if they have it through 6, but come back out and pitch longer, and give up more runs?
  4. I can remember Baldelli being late before too, and getting the challenge, and the call being overturned. But yes, best to get all the calls correct that you can, and let the players decide the game, and not the umpiring.
  5. 6 innings, 3 earned for Lopez. A certified "quality start". HAHAHA!
  6. It was a second or two past. I am sure Baldelli has gotten the slack a couple of times, too. The point is, they got it right. Jeffers was out and it was called wrong. It shouldn't have been called wrong in the first place. I hope we can beat the Yankees because we beat them and not cry about something like that, which needed corrected.
  7. Amazing. 10 hits in 5 innings and only 3 runs for the Yankees. We would be some pissed posters if that was our boys.
  8. Lopez putting on a clinic on HOW NOT TO PITCH WITH 2 STRIKES! I hope the rest of the staff is paying attention to his leadership.
  9. Wow. 5 of the 8 hits with 2 strikes. Pablo Day Lopez.
  10. I like to see correct calls, and making them right. Balls and strikes. Calls on the bases. Even if it goes against my team. I hate wrong calls, of all kinds.
  11. 8 hits in 14 batters. more than gross. amazing there are only 3 runs scored.
  12. 6 hits in 12 batters. Come on Pablo Day. This is just gross.
  13. Bases loaded and no hits. No-hitter through 2 for Stroman. Weird.
  14. Make that 5. 5 of 9 batters with hits to start the game. They all count.
  15. I hope Lopez isn't turning into "First Inning Radke". He seemed to never get out of the first inning without giving up some runs.
  16. Wallner went 0-5 with 4Ks. And the team scored 13 runs and had 11 hits and 9 walks and 9 Ks (Wallner almost half of them). Pretty sad.
  17. I think there should be a Hall of Shame in the Hall of Fame, and all that deserve both, should be in, and in it. Rose, Jackson, Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, Canseco, Clements, etc. All in the special Hall - an actual hall and not a room - in the HOF. They are part of baseball's notorious history, and some of the best players of all time. Would it be an honor? Well, kind of. They don't deserve their behavior to be hidden. They don't deserve to be in without the caveat. So make a special Hall of Shame. Tell the sordid story of peer pressure, greed, and bad choices that taints their greatness. It is part of Baseball's story, and it certainly is famous. And another thought. To pretend there is an equivalency between notorious cheating and not being a total saint is intellectually dishonest and historically irresponsible.
  18. That game had no energy at all. Throw that piece of meat away. Even its imaginary lifespan has run its course and is now rotten.
  19. Yes. I guess he had a ton of money he didn't need. That was a pretty ridiculous time to make a self moralizing stand on something so insignificant, in my opinion. $1 million for one more inning, 3 more outs? I bet his wife didn't think it wouldn't be right.
  20. NOW Okert and Jackson come up with some good innings....... with mope up pressure.
