  1. This doesn't change much. Now instead of needing more than 5 runs to win games, they just need more that 6.... maybe 7.
  2. And/Or.... convert relievers to starters............
  3. High A prospect that is already pitching to an inning eater mid 4 ERA?? At least Meyer was AA. Washington really needed relievers. I can't believe that this is all the Twins could get. All future, no now. But Kintzler will be a better set up or 7th inning of a 7-8-9 closing team. I just think they didn't get much. But being a Twins' fan, I have felt that they have since the A.J. Pierzynski for Nathan,Liriano,Bonser trade.
  4. "Colon has given up seven runs on 16 hits in his 9.0 innings pitched for the Twins over two starts." Yup. Can't wait for another start...............
  5. I agree. I love watching him remind me of Ben Revere throwing it in from center.... and that baseball IQ for a guy so young........
  6. Thanks for the update. Early someone said he had a homer and a single. I get migraines, and a more fun type called ocular migraines with out the pain. I understand what kind of headache it is, and I do become high maintenance, and I don't find it insulting to say it.
  7. Naw....... better to talk about wives waking up, oyster juice, fork jokes, shameless plugs, concerts, when I wake up, mornings, my wife's sleeping habits, taking my car for granted...... but alcohol dependency and being brockmired in deep baseball during a game........ truly too heavy. I am getting with it. How about that clutch Dozier!
  8. OK. I'll move on to what I ate or am drinking. I guess here is a good place for that. No problem.
  9. I totally agree that your tangent is true. It doesn't change that players with a good eye at the plate or the perfect pitch have to be screwed forever. They earned the right call. We only had umpires guessing because we had no other instantaneous option that was better. We do now.
  10. Yup. Should have never moved on from black and white TV. I get it.
  11. Not the point. And there is no evidence to back your statement. None at all, because one will never know how the games would have turned out if they were called correctly. It is going to happen. And it will improve the game to have a true strike zone, like the game was designed to have.
  12. Really? Not what I see. I know you are trying to minimalize what I said, but I don't like any of the wrong calls, even when they go in my teams favor. I hate them all. I don't like the "they all even out" acceptance. Because they don't. They all change every game and produce a different result than what a good eye or pitch earned. They are all cheating the game.
  13. Dozier screwed on that one. Once more.... time for tech to call balls and strikes. It affects every game played. Should be bases loaded. Instead .... side out. Not a game goes by that isn't compromised by the wrong calls behind the plate. Not a one.
  14. Cuzzi... a name a Twins fan will never forget.
  15. Damn. Could have used that up here. We needed to keep Granite's incredible baseball IQ in the lineup, I guess.
  16. Pathetic. This is just how the Twins are playing now.
  17. That was ball four bases loaded............
  18. Granite couldn't get a bunt down in LA either.
  19. Can't find a update report on Buxton anywhere. Any news, anyone? Still migranes. High maintenance?
  20. Thanks for the summary. I must be looking at the wrong games to see him catching. I know I saw some DH spots, too.
  21. Exactly what I was thinking. Every time I look at the boxes, he is either a DH or in left field. Hard to get improvement defensively, it you don't catch.
  22. Every time I see Kohl Stewart's name now, I think of #4/2013 Kohl Stewart, or #32/2013 Aaron Judge. I wish I could stop doing that. The whole league missed it.
  23. And it can spiral right back on top! Nothing a 10 game winning streak doesn't cure. I don't throw in the towel, yet. It is going to happen to one or two of the teams in the Central. It already happened to KC (who are my pick to win the division), and got them right at the top. Hey....... the Twins had a 9 game run of lost one/won one, and basically played .500 ball coming out of the All-star break, and then ran into the LA Dodgers, who are only 34-6 in their last 40 games! It isn't just the Twins failing when the Dodgers have landed on their schedule. This has been happening to all the teams that are playing the Dodgers. These guys know how to win, and when the rally starts, the buzz is on, and everyone on the team emotes it and expects to get a hit and continue it, and every one in the stands feels it. It is quite remarkable what is happening right now. This is a team that has a ton of earned confidence. The feeling is infectious to all in its presence. I am glad the Twins didn't take Jose De Leon. Just like the Nationals pawning off Meyer for Span, there is a reason the Dodgers insisted the trade for a second baseman would be De Leon no matter who they traded with. The Dodgers felt he was not elite, and wanted to move him. Check out how his season has been, even if you don't consider he was out for a month and a half. For this FO to be successful, it is important they make the call and identification early with prospects, make early choices and prune redundancy, rather than holding them, paralyzed by hope, while they stall in AA or AAA and lose their value. Mauer can't lose anymore value, and could just gain some with a burst that has been coming for years (right? it has to be coming......). Garcia is a cheap rental, and could really help, and I don't see how he could hurt. Dozier is due to get hot..... and Santana can too, and often, in his career, has the mid season lull and comes on again. Plus, the guys need to gel and perform as a team. I think there is a new manager next year, just because Molitor's contract expires, and the FO guys made a deal they are honoring in his case, but can pick their own guy after this year. I don't throw in the towel at this point, that is for sure.
  24. Not that it matters, but Wood is 11-1, not 10-0, and got bombed his last outing for his first and only loss of the year, skyrocketing his ERA from 1.56 to 2.17, giving up 9 runs (7 earned), and not making it through the 5th inning (sound familiar). He was finally relieved of his misery when the Twins new pitcher, Jaime Garcia, lofted a Grand Slam to finish him off.
