  1. Low and outside with two strikes to Buxton. Imagine that.
  2. Dozier goes to work.... on his junk.
  3. Wow. I didn't expect for that to be let drop without a play.
  4. Buxton mini slump. 0 for last 11.
  5. Watching the Polanco no doubter off the bat double again, coupled with the lollipop throw in from the warning track, I am amazed that Mauer could not score from first .... on a double...... on that play.
  6. Dozier had at least 10 junk touches between each pitch, with a high of 17 separate touches/adjustments (that was on tv, anyway, so i might have missed some) between a pitch during that first at bat. He is definitely rivaling Nolasco, now.
  7. 76-67 sure would look nice coming out of KC. I hope the "leader" shows up more than he did at Dodger Stadium (the worst team in baseball since August 26 at 1-11 ) I like logjams. They always sort themselves out. Depth is not a problem. At least I don't think it is. I haven't really seen any quality depth here for a reference. Or, give up on him, cast him off, and let him be another former Twin that wins a batting title in Colorado.
  8. Watching Boshers come in, nibble out of the zone, (actually, his third pitch was a perfect strike in the very upper inside corner of the zone, and the umpire, as usual, mis-called it as a ball even though he was looking right at it at about eye level in his crouch over the inside shoulder of the catcher) and then after going 3-0, got the count to 3-2 with a couple of good sinkers, but then threw a no movement no sink sinker right down the very middle of the zone at all of 90mph. Blast off. Hard for me to make excuses for him at all, past present or future. YUK! At least Pressly didn't blow it up today. He came close, but survived.
  9. "It feels like a [make-or-break series], but I don't think that's the reality," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "I think a team can suffer through a couple of series losses, losing two out of three, and still be capable of putting together eight wins out of 10, or nine out of 10, and find themselves right back in the mix." Wow. I guess that inspirational training is paying off, eh? arrrrggggghhhh.
  10. Duffey comes in....... 4 runs score. Damn. Molitor just concedes the game when he puts Perkins in.
  11. So I was a couple pitches off. I am still taking a "called it". 3 inherited runs scored. Somebody will try to defend Duffey in the future by saying this was an appearance that he gave up no runs, I am sure. Whoops..... while Duffey starts to give up his own runs as I type......
  12. 1-2. Duffey to throw the meat now.....
  13. Yup. Duffey provides no relief.
  14. Curtiss was in..... Too bad he isn't having the same success as he had in the minors. I was really rooting for him. Now I am just being tortured by having to see Duffey again.
  15. Looks like Dozier has surpassed Sano in RBI, and tied him for the team home run lead. Good thing he is not competing for the K lead.
  16. Unless they put him in the game........
  17. Wow. I hadn't noticed that. I couple weeks ago it was a 22 game lead. Hey... I live in LA. I pay attention, too, but hadn't realized how many games they dropped.
  18. what the **** is Perkins doing on this roster! Can I say that here?
  19. Twins have 3 hits. Hard to win ballgames on three hits. Maybe if the bases were walked loaded 3 times and the hits were 3 grand slam home runs......
  20. The Dodgers are the worst team in baseball since two saturdays ago. All good points you make here. But the point I and a couple others are making to you, and disagreeing with, is Tampa is not the "dregs". A 10 game winning streak, and they are the second wild card.
  21. None of you that have fashioned yourselves as self made writers through blogging need to do anything but do what you do. Personally, I feel you are not respecting yourself and work enough when you want to disparage other writers, and make your story about another writer instead of just doing what you do. Just as it is tragic when the umpire becomes the news instead of the game and players, so it is with writers writing about other writers. If the musician needs to tell you what the song is about in an introduction to the song, or how to hear the song, the song needs work. It should all be in the song.
  22. Serioulsy? Tampa still in the second Wild Card race! Hardly "dregs".
  23. Berrios just can't keep the ball down.
