    Great to have Sano off the bench! He seems to have lost his eye and patience, though. It seems he hardly ever works walks, now. Grossman is valuable. Best to take Colon's spot. Colon is worthless. To not consider Colon's whole season for some lucky starts is a fool's gambit. I can't believe they are going to give him a start in the last two games. Hell, may as well give Perkin's or Turley a start instead of Colon.

    Exactly. Maybe to build his confidence? Well, that didn't happen. It always amazes me how pitchers that perform well under stress, often don't do as well without it, and seem to not be quite as intense. I hope they play the last three to win. I hate not keeping an intensity that will be required to win and go past the Wild Card game. Gardenhire let the team "rest" and tune up for the playoffs for the last 11 games in 2010. They were never the same, as they limped home @ 2-8, and lost the best record first seed. I am a firm believer in momentum and a winning culture (regardless of what happened in '87, and they lost the last 5 games of the season).

    The Twins currently have the longest winning streak in MLB. At 4. Take that, Cleveland. Take it while you can. Colon is getting the start. And Cleveland is 1.5 games back of home field if they get to the World Series, and only 2 up on Houston for ALCS home field. Do you think they want to sweep this series?

    There are others that could pitch the filler games. Besides, when Gardenhire decided to rest the troops after clinching in 2010, it started the culture of losing. Stay hot, stay focused, and try to win every game. It is good practice.

    Great points. But when you are playing a team that is as amazingly hot as Cleveland has been, it seems it doesn't matter who pitches against them. It might be best to not have any of them pitch against Cleveland in the upcoming 3 game series! Oh wait.... we still haven't clinched the Wild Card! Realistically, it is going to take a best of season pitching performance against the Yankees and Cleveland to have a chance. And you have to go with the best we have, even though, including Santana and Berrios, unless they are absolutely on their game, it will take the bats to win any games.
