  1. Well, we had 'em with the bases loaded and the game in two hot hitter's hands. Mauer and Buxton. It was right there.
  2. At least Duffey ins't giving him meat.
  3. And just another way for Duffey to give it up.
  4. Buxton hit the fly ball for Mauer.
  5. At least Grossman is still in defensively at DH.
  6. Should have bunted. Squeeze. With speedy Grossman. It was set up perfect.
  7. I would rather have 1st base open. Recipe for a DP without.
  8. Lead foot Grossman still on second. That is a big mistake.
  9. And only 36 pitches thrown by Garcia after 3. And 7 Ks. How can that even happen? And Santana is going to have around 60 pitches after 3 if he is lucky.
  10. Just onboard today.... Am I reading this right.... 7Ks .... GARCIA HAS STRUCK OUT 7 OUT OF 10 BATTERS?
  11. Every pitcher should wear Gibson's jersey and number from now on. It seems that makes the batters score runs. We dropped a game to the Yankees during this series. But we can still sweep in NY and be within 1 game of home field for the wild card game. Plus, we are up 2-1 on the season series for a tie-breaker. Then on to sweeping Cleveland, who are due for some losses. Positive waves, man.
  12. Hey.... I can't stand Colon getting starts at all! I was screaming for his exit after 5, before he was left in to give up the second solo homer. When it was 3-1. You are pressing your luck to even start him. If you get 5 and have a 2 run lead, it is a total no brainer to get him the hell out of there. Wins are really up to the offense with this team and their pitching. The goal should be to score 5, and hope.
  13. Garver one voter from unanimous first place votes. One spoiler.
  14. I have no idea what that even means......
  15. Well I don't. Not right then. I want to watch them celebrate, and not have to listen to some blow hard announcer/interviewer ask the same redundant questions that have the same cliche answers. It always looks like the young player is totally uncomfortable, and usually it is all wound up and repeating themselves and isn't enjoying being put on the spot. " Well, I saw the pitch, and I swung at it, and got the barrel of the bat on the ball, and it went out. I was just looking for something to get a good swing on." It is uncomfortable for them, and I feel that. And the announcer is usually lame, and wanting/needing attention, trying so hard to make the question of "tell us what happened" sound different. I feel that too. But maybe I am not the typical fan. But that is what I think. It is a relatively new thing, in the last several years. Putting them on the PA and all. Play the damn Twins song and all sing together. Show the highlights. Dance. Shut the damn PA off. It's not about getting off my lawn, or anything condescending and grumpy. I miss the sounds of baseball, and dislike the ever increasing desire of the admins to shove all that incessant loud volume from the PA at us in the form of advertisements, promotions, etc.
  16. They really need to stop this stuff of interviewing the players on the stadium PA after the game. It really is lame.
  17. Hey..... it was only 0-1. Does that make it OK?
  18. All three pitches to Joe, right down the middle of the zone. Some would call those mistakes. They seem to be when our pitchers throw pitches there.
  19. To be fair, we haven't had a closer all year. If Kintzler was a closer, he would be closing for the Nats. Belisle certainly isn't one either.
  20. Well, it may. Here's to hoping for continued win one lose one...... win one.
  21. Now 6-6 in September, and all against teams with losing records when we entered the series. Gonna have to do better now, even if 6 are against playoff teams.
  22. As we celebrate this great victory tonight, I see that our Twins are 6-6 in September. This is all against teams with sub .500 records. I hope the boys can bear down and the manager can field the best team and not worry about checking out prospects for next year. Coming up - 6 of the remaining 17 games are against the Yankees (3 games at Yankee Stadium, and now 3 games back of the first wild card and home field, and in case of a tie, we lead the season series 2-1) and 3 on the road against Cleveland! After the upcoming 4 game series against Toronto at home, 10 games on the road. We have not taken advantage of gaining ground on .500 against losing teams. It will be imperative to be more than a .500 team to close out the schedule.
  23. I get that it's not prospects. But Tonkin has spent multiple years in the show for some time. I think that would disqualify him more than all the others. Thanks for the (non?) clarification, though. Fuzzzy voting, I get it, now. Thanks for the reply.
