  1. Great point...... I think you are absolutely right!
  2. Get rid of Colon. It sets up fine to just skip him. Forever I hope. And Please, if the Yankees fall in the Wild Card Game, leave Colon off the playoff roster. He can pitch batting practice. @CLE 9/26: Mejia @CLE 9/27: Gibson @CLE 9/28: Santana DET 9/29: Berrios DET 9/30: Bullpen game - with Gibson taking an inning or two depending DET 10/1: Mejia AL WC 10/3: Santana ALDS G1 10/5: Berrios ALDS G2 10/6: Gibson ALDS G3 10/8: Santana
  3. Great to see Kepler heating up. We need him. Hell, we need ALL the bats to be alive with this pitching staff that has no real consistent shutdown starter or reliever. The offense has to be able to outscore the opposition. I hope they get a chance to come from behind a couple times in late innings and win, especially against Cleveland, and build confidence for the playoff game(s).
  4. Sure would have been nice to have Verlander pitching for the Twins.......
  5. Weakest pitchers lining up for Cleveland. Not that Berrios and Santana have been so consistent lately...... but still. And do we really have to see Colon again?! Really?
  6. Impressive game for the boys. I am really impressed by winning close games more, but a win is a win is a win. And especially now. I hope they have saved some runs for the rest of the series.
  7. Best for all pitchers to where Gibson's number when pitching now.
  8. Gotta be a twit to vote on the poll. That leaves me out. 83. Hardly deserving the playoffs with that record, but thems the rules.
  9. It's Doug Mientkiewicz' fault.
  10. Live from New York! Staring the "Not Ready For Prime-Time Players!", our Minnesota Twins! Brutal. Embarrassing. Pitiful. But..... someone has to go to NY and play the Yankees (probably) in the Wild Card Game. Whether it is the Twins or the Angels (who have 2 more against Cleveland and 3 against Houston) .... they are limping in. Neither can compete with the other playoff teams. It almost isn't fair to have a second Wild Card when there is so much distance between the 2nd and 1st. Nothing entertaining to me about Colon. It was so obvious that he had been lucky. Even when he got a few wins and results. But some fans were easily impressed, and the Management was too. Pressing the luck. He deserves one more start. Me.... you retire him before he gets the chance to fail three games in a row down the stretch, dont' push the luck. (My personal hell, Colon and Duffey). So here we are. With a cane. And we might just limp into the Wild Card game. Somebody has to.
  11. Watching the 8th again... Dozier was a let down. The leader, hunting a walk. Had the count at 2-0, and watched meat right down the heart of the plate, to go to 2-2. Plus, more hind sight. Granite could have very possibly/probably worked a walk too.... and not given the Yankees a free out there. Bunting again. Traditional, for sure, but if Dozier is going to test the wildness for a walk instead of trying to drive in the tying run from second..... why not give Granite a few pitches to see if he gets the free base, and moves the runner, without giving up an out.
  12. Season series tied 2-2. Yes. We. Can.
  13. Well, we had 'em with the bases loaded and the game in two hot hitter's hands. Mauer and Buxton. It was right there.
  14. At least Duffey ins't giving him meat.
  15. And just another way for Duffey to give it up.
  16. Buxton hit the fly ball for Mauer.
  17. At least Grossman is still in defensively at DH.
  18. Should have bunted. Squeeze. With speedy Grossman. It was set up perfect.
  19. I would rather have 1st base open. Recipe for a DP without.
  20. Lead foot Grossman still on second. That is a big mistake.
  21. And only 36 pitches thrown by Garcia after 3. And 7 Ks. How can that even happen? And Santana is going to have around 60 pitches after 3 if he is lucky.
  22. Just onboard today.... Am I reading this right.... 7Ks .... GARCIA HAS STRUCK OUT 7 OUT OF 10 BATTERS?
