  1. I think it's honestly because how much potential he showed coming up thru the minor leagues and how much hype he got being such a special player. People feel slighted that he isn't a mega star or something right now. It's the same thing with Mauer, when he didn't play at MVP level, the critics were there to try and tear him down. It's why it's hard to have nice things sometimes. Sano will come around, he just needs to stay healthy.
  2. Just passing it on! Saw someone gave the link in the Twitter feed.....and yes I already made my order

  4. Generally when a guy has been in a clubhouse going on two decades a couple things will come out if he is a bad teammate or bad clubhouse guy or generally not a good guy to have around. Those things are virtually non-existent. I apologize if my post came off as rude, but the Mauer bashing around these parts over the years reached an unbelievable level, at least IMO.
  5. People just cannot stop going after Mauer. I am sure Mauer is the reason why this team is better with a great Odorizzi and Perez and the fact the pitching overall has been MUCH better than it has in years. The reason why Buxton and Polonco are actually on the field and playing like All-Stars. The Twins hit .250/.318/.405 as a team last season. This year they are .272/.340/.516. The addition of Cron has certainly helped the slugging, there is a lot going on with this team that is not Mauer related. I am sure his "non-leadership" qualities not being on the team has really pushed this team to the next level. /rant
  6. Great seeing Kepler in the lineup, even if it is at DH after the wall collision yesterday. I love, love, love the long balls but a gem by Berrios would excite me more than anything tonight.

  8. Sure overall numbers he has overtaken him, that doesn't change the fact Kepler is indeed hitting better against RHP and it's been about an 4/1 ratio from a quick look standpoint. I would agree Buxton against lefties should be hitting 1-3 with the numbers he has put up, especially since it does indeed seem that Rocco pays attention to splits.
  9. Here are their 2019 stats against RHP. Kepler - .258/.349/.508 with 22 K's in 149 PA 15% Buxton - .238/.301/.467 with 31 K's in 133 PA or 24% So no, against right handed pitching, Buxton is not outproducing Kepler while striking out nearly 10% less. Now, Buxton is crushing left handed pitching this year, the problem is the Twins have seen very little left handed starting pitching.
  10. Which is why I shake my head when I see suggestions that Buck be moved up to 7th in the lineup. If he isn't batting in the top two positions in the lineup I would much rather see him at 9 where is batting in front of those guys.
  11. 1. CF Max Kepler (L) 2. SS Jorge Polanco (S) 3. RF Marwin Gonzalez (S) 4. LF Eddie Rosario (L) 5. 1B C.J. Cron ® 6. DH Luis Arraez (L) 7. 3B Miguel Sano ® 8. 2B Jonathan Schoop ® 9. C Willians Astudillo ® Buck gets the night off. Arraez in at DH.
  12. Don't get rid of your depth during the season if you don't have to. When Cruz is healthy, how many times a week would Arraez be in the starting lineup? Once, maybe twice a week? He won't be regularly starting over Cruz, Polanco, Schoop or Sano. It just makes sense to keep Adrianza to send him back to AAA.
  13. With the way the offense is just raking, better off letting Cruz heal, even if it's just a precautionary measure.
  14. I agree and don't understand it either. Give me longer sunlight after work opposed before it. A lot more people are going to take advantage of sunlight at 8 PM vs 4 AM.
  15. For everyone looking to Kimbrel as our savior, look at him in the playoffs last year. 10.2 IP, 9H, 8 ER, 8 BB, 10K. He was anything but dominate
  16. 4 run lead at home in the middle of a 14 day streak without an off day and 4 pitchers have already been used today?
  17. By reading the game thread and not knowing the score you would think this is a lot closer game than it actually is
  18. Ducks on the pond....scare them home Tortuga!
  19. Norris only 45 pitches thru 4
  20. 11 runs in 29 innings isn't exactly "tagging" the staff. Comes out to 3.4 runs per game. Let's hope Perez can settle down a bit.
