  1. Just checking in....Berrios's game line looks like.....Jose Berrios is actually pitching tonight? And.....where's the offense??
  2. I don't know where I got the 6-0 score....I was looking at.....something. Very good points made.
  3. You've actually got a point here. Move Wade back to CF, Adrianza to LF and insert Cron at 1st. It seems more like over sight in a 6-0 rather than a manager who doesn't care about winning though.
  4. Because Cruz is playing today means that 2 days ago he was fine to go? If he wasn't 100% there's no reason to risk further injury to that wrist. Before the game he was deemed unavailable. It obviously wasn't the most the sought after situation with LaMarre up there in the 9th as the tying run, but to accuse Rocco of not caring about winning just seems like a low blow to the manager in a tough spot.
  5. Good news! Cruz is in the lineup tonight.
  6. Because he let LaMarre hit? If I am looking at the roster correctly the only player left on the roster to hit was Castro. What's the "care about winning" decision there? Marwin, Cruz, Buxton and Sano were unavailable due to injury. Kepler was taken out for injury in the game. Miller and Cron had already been used and replaced.
  7. On the contrary, Cleveland has lost 5.5 games to the Twins in less than a month. They went from up 1/2 game to down 5 in 25 games. They have lost ground to the Twins in the last 10 days and currently sit 1/2 game out of the 2nd Wild Card position. If this were Indians daily, I am guessing the panic button would be stuck to the table after being jammed so many times. They might be pumped, but the Twins are very much in the driver's seat while they are on the outside looking in.
  8. How is Baldelli punting? He has a pretty beat up roster right now. Twins are 11-4 in their last 15, 6-4 in their last 10. LaMarre had 1 AB, and as far as I can tell....there really weren't many options. Saying this team doesn't show up and doesn't care is pretty damn insulting.
  9. How many people are watching your 10 hour work day under a thick microscope? How many people call you out when you dog it the last 2 hours or your day? Take an extra 10 minutes for lunch? Not carry the max load every single time to a jobsite? And the real question is....does your company have people lined up to take your spot when your back is a little sore and can't haul as much? A "sore muscle" or a "tweaked back" or a "strained hamstring" is the difference between making a throw, making an extra base, 5-6 MPH on your fastball.. With professional athletics, especially baseball, there is such a thin line between being a capable major league player and not. If a guy can't run to first, he isn't playing period. If my pitcher who throws 95, can only get 88 because of something in his arm, he isn't playing. He isn't good enough too. "The shucks, you don't do much, rub some dirt on it" doesn't apply because there are people who can get it done. I absolutely hate the argument that athletes are above us and need to work harder when everything they do is live for the world to see. Eddie doesn't hustle down to 1st on a grounder to the pitcher? We light him up on the forum. A guy is held out of the lineup with a sore back? We light up him in the forum. There is no one watching me intensely right now thinking..."Wow, swainzag is posting on that dang Twins Daily site again instead of doing his work paperwork again let's get rid of him"
  10. They are on pace to win 100 games, they set the MLB HR record and players all over the lineup are having career years. We not assuming any of that is due to giving the players some extra rest during the year?
  11. What happened to Kepler?
  12. Oh the Pirantahs. Ozzie lives on.
  13. Man that's a light hitting lineup.
  14. This is the stuff the people need to know. Kid seems like a real gamer.
  15. I don't think anyone is sleeping on Tito, but the Twins have a 5.5 game lead with 21 games to play. Last night was only one game.
  16. Lot of finger pointing going around. Hard to win games when you score 2 runs through 11 innings.
  17. Our old buddy Robbie Grossman just hit a go ahead 3-run triple off of Meija in the 7th.
  18. The last 6 series that have went to 5 games, no team used more than 12 pitchers, and 3/5 used 11 or fewer. Give me a speed guy off the bench over a 9th reliever anytime.
  19. In a 5 game series, do you really need 9 relief arms? I'm trying to come up with a situation where Thorpe would get a chance. In a blowout maybe? I'd rather see a 4 man rotation, 8 pen arms and an extra bat off the bench.
  20. I didn't get to see the game, but looking at the box score and game log, it seemed Jose did a decent job with everyone outside of Betts....then ran out of steam in the 6th. Am I off on that? I guess if you get beat it's better it's an MVP caliber player than a scrub. Either way, take the series tonight!
  21. With who they had up and who was coming up, I don't mind the decision. You have speed on the bathpaths, a guy up hitting .222 and Betts and Devers coming up, all you need is a single to tie.
  22. Man, no hits since the 5th inning.
