  1. I don't think anyone said they were the same. There are 11 games til the break. May pitched yesterday. Which means if they went to a 6-man rotation until the break, everyone would get 2 starts. I really don't think it's going to throw anyone off. Go to the break, make a decision to send someone down, trade someone, send someone to the pen, etc. 6 starters, 7 man pen. Go with it.
  2. When is Hicks eligible to come off the DL?
  3. 4 HR in a game for the Twins?!? What is this?!
  4. You could make a pretty long highlight video of the White Sox play while playing Benny Hill music after this one.......and I'd love every second of it.
  5. If Kennys could have squared that one up and not hit off the handle it was probably headed 400+ feet
  6. So......that's an error on Cabrera? WTF call is that? If anything give it to Ramirez!
  7. I'll go out on a limb and say I don't think Revere makes throw.
  8. At least he had a good AB and hit the ball hard. I really liked not seeing him chase those out of the strike zone. The pick off fooled him so badly though
  9. And I am guessing that team would immediately regret that decision. As I have mentioned in other threads where "trade for Tulo" has come up: 2015 H/R splits: H: .339/.373/.517 R: .277/.299/.438 Career H/R splits: H: .324/.396/.562 R: .274/.346/.467/.813 He simply isn't the same player away from Coors Field. Is he still an above average player? For sure.....but his overall statistics are mis-leading. Add to the fact he is on the wrong side of 30, rarely stays healthy and is owed $20M per year for the next 5 years? He wouldn't be worth the prospects, especially if we think that Polonco could be a serviceable ML shortstop in the next 1.5 years.
  10. Baseball reference has his oWAR at 1.5 on offense and 2.1 WAR overall last year and an OPS+ of 107. If you don't think you can find worse, you aren't looking hard enough.
  11. At this point I think you make that decision when Kepler, Vargas and Sano are all pushing their way into the lineup for AB's. As of right now Vargas isn't hitting, Sano has never played 1B and Kepler is still in AA. The only sunk cost is Mauer's salary this season. The $23M per for 2016, 2017 and 2018 are 100% guaranteed future costs. Mauer's OPS+ of 90 this year could be a whole lot worse for all the talk of getting benched and flat out retiring.
  12. If this was even in the plans you would assume they would shift Sano and at least give him some defensive innings in AA at 1B. I really see no way they continue to play him at 3B and then bring him with no reps at 1B.
  13. I don't mind it. Let him get his feet wet. He will be at the top of the order soon enough.
  14. I agree with this. A fairly cheap starting option in case May and Meyer both proved not ready, Pelf was the Pelf if the last two years, Nolasco and his injuries, etc. The appearances clauses make more sense that way.
  15. Duensing could and will not ever come close to hitting 98 on the gun.
  16. Mauer has also hit off the charts with runners on, and he doesn't strike out nearly 35% of the time, not to mention Rosario's OBP of less than .300 should be no where near the top of the lineup right now.
  17. But how many of those guys are prototypical leadoff guys? I
  18. If he projects as a SS and Twins management thinks he is a more valuable asset at SS than in the OF, why would sending to AAA to play SS everyday to hone those skills be a worse option than playing on the MLB roster in CF?
  19. But why? You could probably say Santana was called prematurely last year. If he continues to struggle mightily at the plate and defense stays shakey for the next 3-4 weeks, what's it going to hurt if he is sent down to right the ship while Escobar took over as the starter? If it was just fielding that concerned people I would agree, but when he looks completely lost with the bat as well....
  20. In this regard would it have really mattered? You could have still brought up this stat with him having 202 IP and a career season without his last start.
  21. Will bringing him to the majors help his control against better hitters than he has been facing in AAA? Counting today he has walked twice what he has struck out and damn near thrown as many balls as strikes, I don't see how calling him to the majors fixes any of that.
