  1. Damn. Big swing by the big fella.
  2. I'm not saying Perkins was the answer, but I don't know if I would have gone to May right away.
  3. I'll be that guy. This thing ain't over! Let's go Esco....get something going.
  4. Zobrist was the switch hitter and then they had the 3 lefties. IDK know what I would have done, probably left Santana in to pitch to Zobrist and gone from there.
  5. I've had a wonderful time watching baseball this summer over the past 5 months. I'm sorry you feel it was wasted Dave.
  6. Or smart baseball setting up the DP
  7. Get Perk out of there. Rios is hitting nearly 400 against him. He shouldn't have pitched to Zobrist.
  8. Expletive, Expletive Perkins, Expletive Expletive
  9. Eh he made a great pitch, that hit was in no way Santana's fault
  10. Pshh.....terrible way to go out, lucky hit if I've ever seen one.
  11. Bah. Surly on tap! You can pray silently while sipping a frosty Furious.
  12. Beer in one hand.....burger in the other?
  13. Anyone else wanna see a hit and run here?
  14. I'm hoping all our locals are at the game and can't post due to beers in both hands.
  15. Checking in fellas! Santana looking great so far, let's go get him the win now!
  16. If Gibby was afraid it didn't show, he had one of his best outings of the year in a time they needed him most. Both him and Duffey stepped up big time in this series.
  17. I wouldn't say that I expect the team to be markedly better, but there are a lot of good signs going forward. You have Sano, Rosario, Duffey and Buxton with some experience under their belts going into their 2nd seasons. They should have Santana pitched a full season. You have a very good pitcher in Berrios that should be with the Twins at some point and we very well might see Kepler who dominated AA this season. A bullpen with just Perkins, Jepsen and May is already better than what they started with this year. Detroit will not be as good and not to mention the Royals will lose Gordon and Cueto. I do think there was a luck factor this season, especially early in the year and sure the Twins might not be better next year, but overall I would take the squad going into next season, 10/10 times over the one they had going into this one. The only way I don't see them improving is if a combo of Dozier/Plouffe/Rosario/Sano regress heavily and injuries play a part. Then again, I might just be overly optimistic.
  18. No idea, but those are very specific numbers. I really like Eddie and he is having a great rookie campaign. Going forward though he is going to have to get more selective at the plate. Striking out 25% of the time while only walking 3.2% of the time, just won't cut it. There are 31 players in the majors this year with over 350 PA who strike out at a higher rate and none have as low of BB% and only 3 have a BB rate below 5%. Those are Chris Owings of Arizona, who has been awful offensively, Yosmany Tomas of Arizona who is also rookie and has been fairly awful as well and Jake Marisnick of Houston who is a defensive whiz. While you say...well he is only a rookie and he will improve.....his splits have actually been worse in the 2nd half. 1st half: 3.9 BB%, 22.9 K%. 2nd half: 2.5 BB% 27.0 K%. To make it even more inflated, 1/3 of his 2nd half walks have been intentional. I hope he can improve, but if he doesn't I really find it hard to imagine staying a productive player without any plate discipline.
  19. Dozier: (with less than 2 outs) PA w/ runner on 1st: 57 PA w/runners on 1st and 2nd: 18 PA w/runners on 1st and 3rd: 5 PA w/ bases loaded: 9 Plouffe: (with less than 2 outs) PA w/ runner on 1st: 66 PA w/runners on 1st and 2nd: 23 PA w/runners on 1st and 3rd: 10 PA w/ bases loaded: 13 So essentially Plouffe has been in a DP situation 23 more times and grounded into 19 more double plays than Dozier.
  20. Joey having himself a nice little start tonight. 3 innings, 3 AB, 3 hits. After Sano parks one here, it will be 3 R as well.
  21. I took a stab. I bet 43K Lune Tune's sound similar to 50K
  22. Imagine 50,000 Twins fans in the playoffs getting out their Lune Tune's when the Twins have the bases loaded. That would be something..... Edit: words
  23. I'm certainly glad you asked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MpUbRmZYR0
