    Celestino has exactly zero PA above A ball. Unless you are going to start punting the season, he has no business being on the Twins right now. At least Larnach has shown success at AA ball, but neither of these guys should be called up right now.

    Who should Broxton made the roster over? He is 30 and has a career ML slash line of .209/.286/.388. He hit the ball well in ST, but other than that I don't think he moves the needle much if any. No one is trading a relief worth anything for Cave at this point. That's a pipe dream.

    Ideally you offer that Buck this year or this offseason before he gets to free agency. If they wait until he is a free agent he is as good as gone.

    That contract was signed 12 years ago. $23M in 2009 is ~$28.5M or so in 2021 dollars. Offer him a Mauer-esk contract.

    If the Twins trade Buxton after this whole ride of seeing him mature into the player he is right now, I am not sure I can continue watching Twins baseball....and I've been a fan for 30+ years. It's a slow start, but after the years or losing and with the core they have right now and the way ownership has let payroll rise the last few years....a tear down, especially mid-season might break the camel's back for me.

    The platoon was more based upon Alex vs lefties than Sano against righties. That .841 OPS against lefties is certainly better than the .634 OPS Alex had against AA pitching. I totally agree that running him out there everyday would probably be better for Sano, it might not be better for the Twins when Kiriloff is hitting like has this week.

    Were any of them desperate signings? Shoemaker is on a 1 year $2M deal brought in as depth starting pitching. Colome is coming a very good 5 year stretch and a 2020 where he was near un-hittable. He does have some control issues, but this was a move to bolster the bullpen. Robles was a buy low $2M signing after a pretty bad 2020 following a very good year in 2019. So far he has only allowed hits in 3 of his 11 outings and seems to be a decent signing. I don't see how any of these reek of desperation, they all had their purposes.

    Which young arms from the minors are you referring to?

    Pretty SSS for Alex in the majors. In 2019, which was is his only competition above A ball, the splits are pretty pronounced as he only hit .244/.301/.333 against lefties compared to .302/.363/.452 against right handed pitching. A healthy Sano makes a pretty nice platoon partner with Alex if he continues to hit.

    How is Rogers awful? He gave up a soft hit single that probably should have been an out and Gallo somehow muscled a 95 MPH fastball that was 6 inches inside and could have possibly hit him over the fence? That was much more a wow piece of hitter rather than an awful pitch. I have preferred a 3 run win over a 1 one run win, but they count the same in the standings.

    Wasn't he only up for 1 day until Simmons came back? If Arraez does need a week off having Willians as the only player that that backs up SS and 2B is pretty worrisome and I'd probably get Gordon up.

    Not the prettiest ending, but a win is a win that is 4 out of 5! Really nice to see Jorge hitting the ball hard and Alex continuing to smash. Very nice to know that Buck can have an off night at the plate and they can still pull out wins. A little worried about Arraez, hoping the concussion symptoms go away. They will surely miss his bat atop the lineup if he has to miss any extended period.
