  1. Hrmm.....Toronto trades for Scott Feldman from the Stros instead. Thinking that probably kills Santana to the Jays.
  2. Wow! Good call, I am following them both...well I was.
  3. Buster Olney ‏@BusterEPSN Source: Ervin Santana to Blue Jays. Waiting to hear back on return. A lot of smoke....
  4. From everything I have read he has been a total butcher at SS. I know Nunez wasn't great, but to say Polonco will be an improvement is probably just complete guess work at this point.
  5. That's the problem, even when you have a board chalk full of people who want to rip the front office about advanced statistics, you still get a hoard of people who will say, "he gets no RBI and always looks for a walk!" Joe is getting on base almost 50% of the time with runners in scoring position. That should be extremely valuable!
  6. Is this year's trade deadline really going to be considered "franchise altering"? I would like to see them unload some vets, but franchise altering might be pushing it.
  7. I prefer Roy Hobbs. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y260/fritschcards/royhobbs.jpg
  8. Unless they have another business proposition on the table, why? Sports franchises are booming right now and with the recent woes on the Twins, you would think even at that high value they would be selling "low." Unless they just want to get out of the business, it seems like a bad time to sell to me.
  9. I think the real question is how much reign he will actually have. I don't think anyone knows how close or not close Ryan and Antony are. They very well could have had the majority of the same views on how to run the team. Antony has been with the Twins for 17 years? I think they probably know what they have in him. I highly doubt ownership is going to let Antony step in and just start wheeling and dealing, especially if the plan is to bring in someone from outside the organization to take the job.
  10. Why would they fire Ryan now if they were going to give Antony the reigns then? Why not wait til the end of the season, make a deal with Ryan and let him go out "on his own terms" and then name Antony the GM? With an in-season firing, it just points a huge arrow and going outside the organization. I would say there is a much bigger chance Antony is let go at the end of the season rather than naming him the GM. Just my thoughts. Edit: spelling
  11. Or it could have been a foregone conclusion made by the ownership group. Ryan isn't getting any younger, results aren't here etc.
  12. Hitting .321 and on pace for 28 2B, 22 HR, and 41 SB. He's having a really nice season.
  13. I could more see Park hiding an injury than using it as an excuse. Player in a new country trying to fit in, trying to succeed, trying not to let down his country. Before people berate the trainers, it could be as simple as that.
  14. Let's not act like there were a lot of choices. Banged up Buxton, banged up Escobar and Suzuki.
  15. I suppose they could have used Suzuki, he's been swinging a hot bat
  16. "Rosario might have just swung at Ball 4." ~A's Announcer Wasn't the first time and won't be the last time.
  17. I kind of want to pick up one of the hats they have on today
  18. Dick said during the game last night they are only doing 1 of the 3 broadcasts.
  19. Here is what Rotowire said: Buxton is out of the lineup Monday due to general soreness after running into the outfield wall Friday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Spin: Buxton is available off the bench. He was also out of Sunday's starting lineup due to the issue.
  20. Pound for pound the Twins have to have the biggest corners in baseball. During a 5-3 putout today the ball will transfer from well over 500 pounds! Either way, excited to get a look at Kennys again!
  21. The guy pitched pretty damn well last year, no one enjoyed any of it? I remember a late comeback against the O's where Jepsen came in and struck out the side for the save in the 9th. Probably his most memorable moment for me.
  22. Meh. If Rogers or Kintzler would have given it up someone would have put "why they send him out there for an another inning when you have an 8 man pen?" or tomorrow when Rogers is unavailable because he threw 2 innings tonight you would hear, "Thanks Mollie, great job wasting him yesterday."
