  1. Since the Cotts trade that put them at 4 lefties in the pen, they have went 7-1. And if you are referring to the ARod Grand Slam, it was in the 7th inning off of Graham, not the ninth.
  2. 4 combined K's for our 7th and 8th inning relievers. Business as usual for the Twins.
  3. What about in the mold of Frank Thomas? Of course he would have to cut back on the K's and keep the the BB% up, but he was constantly hitting the ball hard.
  4. I agree and think his plate discipline has a lot to do with it. How many times this year did we see Santana swing and bat pitches and put himself constantly in 0-2 and 1-2 counts? This was usually followed by a strikeout or a very defensive swing resulting in a poorly hit ball and easy out. Sano has been much, much more composed at the plate than Santana ever was.
  5. Can someone explain what the hell happened there?
  6. Maueskii. Knock him in Sano!
  7. Hughes at Yankee Stadium.......presented by Brad Radke https://youtu.be/f2b8R6P7WBU I Still can't believe he agreed to be in that commercial like that.
  8. I agree with you here, if they make that game they more than likely are fighting down to the last day of the season and it will be whoever is rested.
  9. While his power hasn't dropped off like last year, he is striking out 31% of the time in 2nd half and that's killing his production.
  10. Great read, thanks for sharing!L Love this quote, "And we are: The Twins.” He announced it as if they were about to launch into a choreographed dance, or maybe a tumbling routine. Instead, we all shook hands."
  11. Take out Tulo's 1st game as a Jay where he went 3/5, 2 2B, HR, 3 RBI it skews things too I wasn't trying to insinuate that Esco is a better option now or going forward, just thought it was interesting.
  12. Since Tulo trade: Esco: 74 AB, 8 2B, 3 HR, 9 RBI, .270/ .333/.500 Tulo: 97 AB, 4 2B, 3 HR, 10 RBI, .237/.339/.371 Reyes: 97 AB, 5 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 9 RBI, .258/.284/.392
  13. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fZMCZ64lLpo/T9fUj1diuAI/AAAAAAAAhtw/2jcfvCo6cos/s1600/DGBKateUpton.gif Needed to be done.
  14. http://gwally.com/avatars/images/ohhellsyeah.gif Mmmmmm 6 game road winning streak is longest since 2007! OH HELLS YEAH!!
  15. That was hammered.......Duffy can't fall behind to hitters like this, it takes away his best weapon
  16. He cleared. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/08/james-shields-clears-waivers.html
  17. Well after this year he can be sent to the minors. I am wondering if he won't go to Rochester next year and be tried as a starter. I'm fairly certain that players on the active roster and 15 day DL on September 1st are eligible for the playoff roster, but I'm not certain.
  18. To be fair that was Baker's start, but he was used in Game 163
  19. So if the Twins struggle it's 100% on Ryan and if they succeed it's 0% on him? Makes sense.
  20. Richardson has done great work! Give the man an extension already!
  21. I highly doubt that one play was the only reason that people aren't more excited about Polanco.
  22. Joe in zero way, shape or form was blocking Sano from coming to the majors. Sano is the only Twin on the roster getting on base at a higher clip than Sano is, isn't a guy you would want hitting in front of Sano....? What good is your best on pace threat going to do hitting 8th? I understand he isn't what he use to be, but he still has value for the Twins.
  23. So many nightmare scenarios include not upgrading the catcher position. The reality is there are just not that many great catchers out there. How much would it be worth to go from a below average catcher like Suzuki to an average catcher? Willing to give up multiple prospects? Kurt Suzuki's line this year: .238/.293/.313. 65 wRC+ These two have been discussed a lot of the boards this year. .241/.310/.347 78 wRC+ .237/.269/.360 70 wRC+ Both are better defenders and have thrown out about 10% more runners this season. I know both of these guys are having very down years, but when taking out the names and just looking at numbers, it's pretty telling. This season unless you have one of a small handful of catchers you pretty much have an average-below average backstop.
  24. 700 Home Runs?! I really thought the goal was 800 11 down, 789 to go.
