I realize it is 36 degrees, but he's only at 80 pitches. Go for the perfect game!

Is there anyone battling a minor injury right now that might possibly start the season on the IL and buy us another 2 weeks from having to make a final decision on another player?

He's not too thrilled about it. There were multiple retweets from him last night including one that said "Who gets more slaps to the face, Chris Rock or Lewis Thorpe?" He responded with "Lewis."

I'm not a fan of Boras, but do have to give him some due. I think Correa/Boras could have gotten this deal from a number of other teams, including some that more likely contenders, but chose to reach out to and agree to sign with the Twins.

Here's another article from Sports Info Solutions from May 10, 2019 that updated their info from that April 2018 Athletic piece I posted: https://www.sportsinfosolutions.com/2019/05/10/home-run-robberies-are-up-at-least-recently/ Home Run Robberies (from 2004 - May 9th, 2019) Carlos Gomez - 13 Torii Hunter - 12 Adam Jones - 11 Mike Trout - 11 Ichiro Suzuki - 10

Welcome! I thought your question was an interesting one as well and tried to do some digging. Unfortunately, the only info that I could find on this subject was from an April 2018 article on The Athletic. It was written by someone by the name of Mark Simon from Sports Info Solutions. They did a study on the number of home runs robbed from 2004 - 2017 (15 seasons), so Puckett is obviously not included and only a portion of Torii Hunter's career is included. The top 5 players with "Home Run Robberies" during that time were: 1) Carlos Gomez - 13 2) Torii Hunter - 12 3t) Mike Trout - 10 Ichiro - 10 Adam Jones - 10 https://theathletic.com/300720/2018/04/05/everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-home-run-robberies-as-tracked-by-sports-info-solutions/

    Rich Rollins - 1962 & 1962 (There were 2 AS games that year) Harmon Killebrew - 1966, 1969, 1970 (seasons in which a clear majority of his games/AB's were at 3B) Gary Gaetti - 1988 & 1989 Miguel Sano - 2017

The Braves signed 32 year old RP Michael Tonkin, who last appeared in the majors with the Twins in 2017, to a minor league contract.

The Twins announced today that Ron Gardenhire, Dan Gladden, and Cesar Tovar have been elected to the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame and will be inducted during Hall of Fame weekend, which will take place August 20-21, 2022. https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/twins-class-of-2022-hall-of-fame

I think the article is pretty spot on, but it's not necessarily an indictment on the Timberwolves. He was fine here, but they needed him to be more than that. He's a very good player on your team....if he's the 4th-most important player.

Zimmer is trying to save his job. I don't fault him for not wanting to develop Mond if he feels Mannion gives the team the best chance to win.

LHP Keith Garagozzo was chosen by the Twins from the NY Yankees in the 1993 Rule 5 draft. Garagozzo appeared in 7 games for the Twins in April 1994 putting up a 9.64 ERA with 3 K's and 13 BB's before being returned to the Yankees on May 4th, 1994.

Bernardo Brito aka "El Pupo." Slugged 105 HR's in the Cleveland system from 1981-1987. Released and signed with the Twins. Brito hit 193 HR's while in the Twins system from 1988 thru 1995, 5 of which were at the major-league level among his 76 AB's, Released following the '95 season and spent 1 year in Japan (21 HR in 56 games).
