  1. Rich Rollins - 1962 & 1962 (There were 2 AS games that year) Harmon Killebrew - 1966, 1969, 1970 (seasons in which a clear majority of his games/AB's were at 3B) Gary Gaetti - 1988 & 1989 Miguel Sano - 2017
  2. Been a rollercoaster of a season for sure, but at 11-14 they are on pace to win 36 games. The Vegas over/under on Timberwolves wins prior to the season? 35.5 wins
  3. The Twins got 2 decent pitching prospects, including one who was rated #98 overall in 2020, for a 41 year old DH on an expiring deal. As one of one the better relief pitchers in baseball consistently for the past 6 seasons and still with 1 1/2 years of control, Taylor Rogers should have a bit more trade value than as just a throw-in as it seems in deals #1 and especially #2.
  4. I think everyone wringing their hands about the fact that Buxton doesn't want to play for the Twins or that negotiations are over need to take a deep breath, 1. Nowhere in Rosenthal's article does it state that negotiations are over. The Twins offered $73 million guaranteed and the Buxton camp made a counteroffer. The Twins followed that up by offering $80 million and Buxton rejected that. 2. If Buxton simply didn't want to play for the Twins, would his camp have even made a counteroffer?
  5. 1. Cade Cunningham - PG not a need, but Cade might be great. 2. Evan Mobley - Fills a size need/would slot nicely next to KAT. Lineup of D'lo/Ant/McDaniels/Mobley/KAT would have a ton of potential. 3. Jalen Suggs - Again, PG not a need, but Suggs is a hometown guy who clearly is a top-3 talent in this draft. I think it was better for the Wolves to end the season on a positive note instead of tanking. 40% chance of keeping the pick by tanking vs 27% chance.
  6. I was wondering the same thing. Why is he so low on the prospect rankings? Is his stuff not expected to translate to MLB? 7. To think we started the season 5-2... 7-21 since then.
  8. Wolves have looked a LOT better now that nearly everyone (sans Beasley) are healthy. It seems that replacing Saunders with Finch as the coach was a good idea too. I know many people are wishing that they'd tank the rest of the season to try and keep their 1st round pick, but I think it is a good decision to end the season on a high note. No guarantees the lottery ping-pong balls would "reward" them anyway.
  9. John, I added Gleeman & the Geek to my dog-walking podcast rotation this season. Really good content! I also really like the music you guys play coming in-and-out of breaks. You or Aaron should tweet out a playlist!

  10. If I recall, I don't think he did great, but a cool moment was him participating in the HR Derby at Target Field and the reception he received.
  11. Admittedly, I know nothing about Sabato (or any of the other draft prospects)...Seems like ceiling could be Pete Alonso or could flame out similar to former Twins 1st round pick Henry Sanchez (RIP).
  12. How about this one? 'The 2002 Minnesota Twins: From Contraction to Contention."
  13. Loved watching this show when it re-aired on ESPN Classic in the 90's. A sad note about the show....The host, Mark Scott, died of a heart attack shortly after the lone season aired. The series was then cancelled rather than proceeding with a new host.
  14. After an off-season of Twins fans wallowing in self-pity as to why the top FA SP's wouldn't pick Minnesota, we finally have an "in" with one of these 2021 FA's! James Paxton makes his off-season home in Eau Claire (90 minutes from Target Field) to be closer to his wife's family. And he's a big fishing fan. https://www.mlb.com/news/getting-to-know-yankees-lefty-james-paxton-c303341582
  15. Joe Nathan was inducted last year, Cuddyer in 2017, and Guardado in 2013.
  16. Yeah, we all know what's out there. The options have been bandied about here for 3 months.
  17. I'd go with the Collin McHugh suggestion...Not sure why he isn't on this list. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mchugco01.shtml
  18. Umm, like who? Mitch Moreland is about the only FA 1B left that I can think of. And Cron signed with Detroit before Christmas.
  19. Doogie indicates that Tyler Duffey and Twins have settled at $1.2 million.
  20. They're also not going to throw Hill and Bailey under the bus by saying something like "We struck out on some (all?) of the players that we had targeted, so had to sign whatever scraps were left...."
  21. Here's the breakdown of Hill's incentives: $1 mill for 5 GS or 25 IP $1 mill for 7 GS or 35 IP $1 mill for 9 GS or 45 IP $1.5 mill for 11 GS or 55 IP $2 mill for 13 GS or 65 IP $3 mill for 15 GS or 75 IP
