  1. In his latest article on The Athletic, Ken Rosenthal lists the Twins as one of the six teams that are in on 32 year old FA catcher Christian Vazquez. Other teams listed include Cubs, Cardinals, Padres, Guardians, and Astros (albeit in a platoon role). View full rumor

  3. Really like The White Lotus. The second season is a tad slow, but I am looking forward to the finale next week. Love Aubrey Plaza.
  4. I just can't watch it. I was interested, but the trailer was disturbing enough for me to say no.
  5. Hasn't been made official, but all signs are pointing towards Mahle making his debut start on Friday against Toronto and Jose Berrios.
  6. Two catchers in a row! Twins just drafted this guy in the 12th.
  7. We got a catcher! Andrew Cossetti - St. Joseph's (PA)
  8. Twins have signed 2 relief pitchers to minor league contracts: Brock Stewart (pitched in 36 games for LAD from '16-'19 and 10 games for TOR in '19) https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/stewabr01.shtml Ben Heller (made 31 relief appearances for the Yankees from 2016 to 2020) https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hellebe01.shtml
  9. Hey, another SS! Dalton Shuffield
  10. Totally agree with this assessment. I really enjoyed Obi-Wan! Was it pointless? A bit, yeah....We all knew that all of the main characters had to survive and live to fight another day in A New Hope. But I think McGregor is outstanding as a younger Obi-Wan and it was cool to see him in that role again and to find some way to incorporate Vader as well. I'm hopeful as well that Disney can find some new stories to tell that resonate with fans.
  11. I've enjoyed all 3 episodes, but yes, REALLY liked the 3rd episode. Some of the suspense is obviously lost though knowing that the main characters are all fine in A New Hope.
  12. Switched phone providers recently and got HBO Max for free. Watching 'Barry' with Bill Hader. It's pretty good! Seems to be a lot of good shows on HBO Max that I haven't seen but want to watch like The Wire, The Newsroom, West Wing, Big Love, True Detective, among others. I'm open to suggestions from others who have the channel!
  13. Did anyone else watch The White Lotus on HBO/HBO Max? It was only 6 episodes...Considered a dark comedy. Good cast. A little slow, but I liked it!
  14. Rich Rollins - 1962 & 1962 (There were 2 AS games that year) Harmon Killebrew - 1966, 1969, 1970 (seasons in which a clear majority of his games/AB's were at 3B) Gary Gaetti - 1988 & 1989 Miguel Sano - 2017
  15. Been a rollercoaster of a season for sure, but at 11-14 they are on pace to win 36 games. The Vegas over/under on Timberwolves wins prior to the season? 35.5 wins
  16. The Twins got 2 decent pitching prospects, including one who was rated #98 overall in 2020, for a 41 year old DH on an expiring deal. As one of one the better relief pitchers in baseball consistently for the past 6 seasons and still with 1 1/2 years of control, Taylor Rogers should have a bit more trade value than as just a throw-in as it seems in deals #1 and especially #2.
  17. I think everyone wringing their hands about the fact that Buxton doesn't want to play for the Twins or that negotiations are over need to take a deep breath, 1. Nowhere in Rosenthal's article does it state that negotiations are over. The Twins offered $73 million guaranteed and the Buxton camp made a counteroffer. The Twins followed that up by offering $80 million and Buxton rejected that. 2. If Buxton simply didn't want to play for the Twins, would his camp have even made a counteroffer?
  18. 1. Cade Cunningham - PG not a need, but Cade might be great. 2. Evan Mobley - Fills a size need/would slot nicely next to KAT. Lineup of D'lo/Ant/McDaniels/Mobley/KAT would have a ton of potential. 3. Jalen Suggs - Again, PG not a need, but Suggs is a hometown guy who clearly is a top-3 talent in this draft. I think it was better for the Wolves to end the season on a positive note instead of tanking. 40% chance of keeping the pick by tanking vs 27% chance.
  19. I was wondering the same thing. Why is he so low on the prospect rankings? Is his stuff not expected to translate to MLB?
