  1. In most threads after 13-14 posts into the thread one does wonder if anyone read the article beyond the title
  2. Half of what gold caretaker is to be ad free. The promise a more in depth article. Parker is the analytics techie guy. I am not sure who else writes “in depth” articles. I wouldn’t hazard a guess unless maybe Seth is writing up prospects
  3. Holliday has a similar minor league trajectory as Delmon Young, Rocco Baldelli and Mike Trout. Which one is he going o be? Or is the .736 OPS at AAA indicative of his talent? If Baltimore thought that Raya and Soto were going to be top of the order pitchers and they could get them for Holliday he would be gone in 60 seconds. When they looked at careers, the success rate of the top 10 was around 50%. And it went down from there IIRC their definition of success was 5 or 10 career war. The bar was low
  4. That is why prospect lists are for entertainment purposes only. The ranking means nothing
  5. Last year 32 different reliever were used in St Paul. They have to keep trying to find someone viable
  6. Danny Santana used speed to beat out infield hits. That was easily defended. His regression should have been anticipated.
  7. Judging by the values of free agents posted I don’t think anybody should be worried about them signing another Bundy or Hill type. No, for the price they would want to spend the team would get much worse. Trade a 10 million contract of a 2-3 war player to sign a pitcher at the about 10 million level is a possibility. Would a recycled Paxton be any different than Bundy? Look for a trade.
  8. So basically you do not know if there is a successful 2 swing approach that is any different from how a batter normally swings the bat. There should be some sort of magical thing that works
  9. But, if you don’t walk much you still may be just unsuccessful at working the count
  10. What is the successful outcome rate with a”2 strike approach” versus a not 2 strike approach? Statistical, not opinion.
  11. ‘Twas the week before Christmas’s in the Twin’s house a frontline starter was need but not this louse
  12. Montas has shoulder issues. If it was fixed he might be fine. If anything a one year contract
  13. they gotta crank out something They didn’t try bad poetry like twas the week before Christmas Twins’ news was a dud didn’t know what to do So lets slop some mud
  14. What would the trade look like? Will Warren, Clayton Beeter and a low level prospect. I don’t think Breslow is going to overpay
  15. Injuries. That is glossed over. What has changed that he is not going to be injured yet again. How many years in a row has it been? Why would you sign yet another player with so much time missed by injury unless it is a team friendly deal. Wherever Garver plays the team would have to have a near ready plan B. He is a luxury item for a team
  16. The article outlines Seattle moving players to shed salary. Why would they take back salary. Rodriguez and Lee would also need filler prospects. Starting pitching at the front of the rotation is still more expensive than BTV thinks.. When the trading was done, the Reds had 3 mlb players from Mahle. I think people think Gilbert may be bettter than Mahle and around longer
  17. https://www.axios.com/2023/12/18/amazon-diamond-sports-group A lot would have to depend on the bankruptcy judge. Amazon Prime is 14.99 a month. It is hard to say how much Amazon would have to raise their price to pay for it
  18. Trading for him would make sense if what the team needed was a back of the rotation starter. That is not the case Trading for a back of rotation starter would make sense if your only goal was to barely win the division. Most would hope that is not the goal. If just winning the division was enough Terry Ryan would still be the GM
  19. All you need to do is click on the 2024 article and see how pointless these projections can be
  20. I looked at the list of available fee agent pitchers and saw James Kapprellian. I looked to see what went wrong stat wise with his 2023 season. There was a link to see who the Bucs should pick up as minor league free agents. Sounded like a good idea. Nope. There was a link to the story on who they should trade for from the Twins. If their list of minor league free agents was a collection of mediocrity, curiosity took over. So many trade suggestions here look absolutely reasonable by comparison.
  21. Thought that some folks could use a laugh. Look at what fangraphs had to say about the prospect, then look at the proposal. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/quinn-priester/25977/stats?position=P pre 2021 he was rated in the 50 or 52 for all prospects and went down from there. https://rumbunter.com/posts/pittsburgh-pirates-three-bold-trade-proposals-to-address-pitching-infield-needs/4
  22. Hoffman was used mostly in low leverage situations last season . Coluombe was also by the end of the season To have used those two for the season who would have you removes from the 40 man
  23. I would rather the Twins have the best pitching duo than hitting duo. See Dodger post season success
  24. Regress back to what he was before 2023. Even then a Quick Look at Washington had for a bullpen last year Floro would be an upgrade. 2.25 million with incentives
