  1. As you have not listed a team with a better record with similar talent then Molitor has more than done his job
  2. Bote would be considered a nobody as the Cubs brought him up as a utility player. Utility players do not get ranked. That is unfortunate because the first player off the bench is as valuable as any other player. Relief pitchers do not get ranked as prospects very often. That Bote was not ranked doesn't mean the scouting services disliked him. I did find a couple spots mentioning his bat and lack of position. I don't think the Twins have any minor league players other than Rooker who are bat first, figure out a position later kind of player. Astudillo isn't the hitter Bote is. Molitor did use him. Although not a first year player, Tyler Austin is getting played most every day, Cave is playing in 2/3 of the games. Grossman had a season and a hlf of big league play when he came to the Twins, Molitor shoved him out there. Grossman does have Bote's bat control, just not the power. The what would Molitor do in a pennant chase is a debatable idea.
  3. 2015 Eddie Rosario 474 Byron Buxton 138, Sano 335 2016 Max Kepler 447 Park with an ^ 244, Polanco 270, Centeno 192 2017 Granite 107 2018 Cave, LaMarre,
  4. Reputations and repeated phrases becoming truths. Molitor does not play rookies and prefers veterans is one of them. In a poor hitting offense , Molitor would play Bote. . The guy hits. An OPS over .800 Why he doesn't show up on prospect lists is that that hand to eye thing doesn't work so well with leather instead of wood. Those players do not get ranked as high unless they are huge HR hitters. What player in the Twins organization that hits like that has and sat? You hit like Bote, you play. The thing is, other than Sano, what rookie in a Twin's uniform has hit like that?
  5. I hear that the Chicago starter last night throws pretty hard. hmmm Austin sits. Rodon not as hard, Austin plays
  6. If you look up baseball lotery ticket, Chalmer's picture might be there.
  7. http://oaklandclubhouse.com/oakland-athletics-2018-top-prospects-dakota-chalmers-rhp/ https://www.mlb.com/news/top-draft-pick-dakota-chalmers-adjusting/c-141551706 https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/dakota-chalmers-rhp-oakland-athletics/vp-BBLJnKb
  8. Austudillo appears to like to eat. That might be difficult to lead the good life in Saint's' wages.
  9. Luis Castillo. No. Luis Rivas and Nick Punto, before that, yes.
  10. The Yahoo twitter feed has led to this. Barrie was released after one season of play . Looks like he got his amateur status back and played for the University of Northwestern Ohio. He will be a senior next year. http://www.unohracers.com/roster/15/3/4111.php
  11. Optimism from the Chief that the Twins will be in contention before the All Star break before Pressly retires. I would rather be optimistic that Alcala would be more than capable of providing what Pressly has.
  12. Luis Rijo – 18-years-old, RHP – The Yankees signed Rijo in 2015 and he has one year of DSL experience under his belt and is playing well in his first taste of the GCL. He has a 3.75 ERA and 49 K : 9 BB in 48 innings this season. He’s a low velocity guy, sitting in the high 80’s, low 90’s right now. He has good secondary pitches though and at his age should add some velocity as the years go on. from http://bronxbaseballdaily.com/2017/09/whos-hot-on-the-farm-rookie-leagues/
  13. So you look at the batting average and not the result of the batting which shows him to be near the top in run production. RISP to talent suffers from SSS and that SF do not count towards RISP but do count towards run production
  14. You said runs are what matters. Dozier scores runs and drives in runs. Runs were your stand and Dozier has number that are very favorable for run production.
  15. from 15-now Brian Dozier has scored the sixth most runs in baseball. He has had the 18th most RBI. If it is all about runs the Dozier would be a superstar
  16. High expectations or unreasonable ones? See the part of the comment on Hicks
  17. Other than the Indians overpaying for a closer , it does not seem the returns are more than high ceiling, high risk prospects. Dozier traded or not, the player is not likely to crack the Twins top 20, Dozier getting hot, or not.
  18. Dozier this year is playing about league average second base. Of course one ****ty game and the pitchforks come out.
  19. 22 years old playing in AAA in an era where plays really don't hit their stride until much later. Drian Dozier at 22 and 27 days was in rookie ball. Aaron Hicks was just finishing his AA season
  20. The Eddies did do what Dozier did not.
  21. There are a plethora of options for 2b, don't count Dozier as gone. In the hypotheical world Sano comes back and Escobar plays second. It doesn't do Gordon much goos to come up and hit less than his weight.
  22. A bad start skews the statistics. Since April 30 his K% is 25.2% His numbers may not be as good as the Astro's relievers but they are similar to them in the same stage of development.
  23. Call it what you will, the statistics sites list it as postseason. The game happens after the season ends. What is undeniable is that for the argument that Dozier does not have post season to be a valuable argument is that someone else available does have post season success.. That is not the case with the OP selections of 2b available players. Kinsler has done well,4 years ago when he was a better player than the last couple of years. With the number of 2b available the price may well be cheaper than a fill in reliever. The Reds, Marlins or Angels may well take a warm body. Manny Machado has a post season OPS of .588. I do not think very many people would hold that against him.
  24. Dozier has no postreason experience? That was such a forgetable game last year. What would the postseason statistics of Castro and Lowrie say about them versus the SSS of Dozier's wc game last year? Hint Casro and Starlins OPS are about .500 after each has played in 22 games. It makes a case that these two choked whereas Dozier shined.
