  1. High expectations or unreasonable ones? See the part of the comment on Hicks
  2. Other than the Indians overpaying for a closer , it does not seem the returns are more than high ceiling, high risk prospects. Dozier traded or not, the player is not likely to crack the Twins top 20, Dozier getting hot, or not.
  3. Dozier this year is playing about league average second base. Of course one ****ty game and the pitchforks come out.
  4. 22 years old playing in AAA in an era where plays really don't hit their stride until much later. Drian Dozier at 22 and 27 days was in rookie ball. Aaron Hicks was just finishing his AA season
  5. The Eddies did do what Dozier did not.
  6. There are a plethora of options for 2b, don't count Dozier as gone. In the hypotheical world Sano comes back and Escobar plays second. It doesn't do Gordon much goos to come up and hit less than his weight.
  7. A bad start skews the statistics. Since April 30 his K% is 25.2% His numbers may not be as good as the Astro's relievers but they are similar to them in the same stage of development.
  8. Call it what you will, the statistics sites list it as postseason. The game happens after the season ends. What is undeniable is that for the argument that Dozier does not have post season to be a valuable argument is that someone else available does have post season success.. That is not the case with the OP selections of 2b available players. Kinsler has done well,4 years ago when he was a better player than the last couple of years. With the number of 2b available the price may well be cheaper than a fill in reliever. The Reds, Marlins or Angels may well take a warm body. Manny Machado has a post season OPS of .588. I do not think very many people would hold that against him.
  9. Dozier has no postreason experience? That was such a forgetable game last year. What would the postseason statistics of Castro and Lowrie say about them versus the SSS of Dozier's wc game last year? Hint Casro and Starlins OPS are about .500 after each has played in 22 games. It makes a case that these two choked whereas Dozier shined.
  10. Houston's revenue last year was estimated at 347 million by stastica, It was good for 6th place. Winning was worth 150 million more than they made in 2014. It was also 90 more million than the Twins made last year The revenue per fan for the Twins was 45 per fan Getting back to selling out would get them close, but the Astro still could afford one more superstar player than the Twins. Any of the teams it still goes back to having a deep core from within. Even the Cubs did not start adding the talent by free agency until it looked like they had a strong core.
  11. What do the Twins have that resembles Rizzo, Russel, Casro, Soler at that time, Hendricks and Arrietta with prospect as good as Bryant and Schwarber?
  12. He might not have had anu clue as to what the player's flaws were
  13. The opinions expressed are not like material in insight nor do they inspire further discussion, nor are they so bad that you can resisted nor does any comment seem like much more of the usual rehash
  14. A prospect that is low level but has a tool or two is not a non prospect. That was the minimal level for a prospect. I stated at the outset. No tools, not much of a chance to make it
  15. Those few players on the cusp are September call ups. No need to clear a roster spot for that
  16. So, do you put a fourth grader getting b grades in a college prep class? Sure they will fail, but what a learning experience. If a player is ready to be called up in July or August they will likely get the call. If not, for experience, a September call up works. If Cave fails Wade will get a chance with or without a trade. Rooker is likely a September call up. I doubt he would get the cal before then. He hasn't even faced AAA pitching. AA was an adjustment at first.
  17. What players have ever benefited from the late season call up and who is the equivalent player now in Rochester
  18. If the return is a non prospect there is not much point in trading the player. A prospect that is low level but has a tool or two is not a non prospect. Balazovic and Moya may be in the same range as prospect ratings go but their ceilings are far different

    No More Rebuilds!

Where is it that anyone associated with the Twins stated they brought back for leadership for the young pitchers? What young pitchers in the bullpen 27 is not young. Belisle the second half of the year pitched to a fip of 3. That is better than most of his bullpen this year. There is nothing wrong with hoping you could get that again. There is also nothing wrong with moving on when you can't get him to do whatever it was he did last year.
  20. When you have a team that has 3 batters hitting above league average and maybe 2 position players playing better than replacement level, complaints about lineup construction seem petty It is not like there is much down in Rochester to help. Wade is looking like on paper he is figuring out AAA. When Cave falter I would guess he will get his shot. Molitor and bullpen usage. Molitor uses his bullpen like he has no concern for yesterday or tomorrow. He is trying to win that day. The problem is which pitchers he trusts. Rodney, Reed,. Others fall out of favor when they falter. Hildenberger, Rogers Presslyand Duke fit the profile. Is it the coaching or the pitcher's ability? Questionable bullpen, questionable usage goes hand in hand. It is the easy shot to take.
  21. Total zone says that Kelly's team were poor fielders. They did not make errors, they did not make plays, either.
  22. Jeff Banister, John Farrell, Mike Matheny, Don Mattingly, Bo Porter, Dave Roberts , Scott Servais Ron Washington say hello. Most of them picked it up just fine with no previous managerial experience.
  23. The cru that the team played better fundametal baseball under a former manager and not now is one of the great I have no statistics to prove it arguments that show up when teams lose that have won in the past.
  24. Don't think so Kody is from Az. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1997-08-06/sports/9708050755_1_funderburk-love-orlando-twins
