  1. This turned from a Wright thread to a McKay thread pretty quickly.
  2. I agree that most casual fans don't know what the future holds. I mean, we don't even know what the future holds, and look how brilliant we are!
  3. I noticed that in his last outing he had no walks. His K rate is down, but his K/BB rate is up. Looking forward to this game!
  4. The evidence that something has changes is right there. He has fewer K/9 but his K/BB is higher. He walked no one in his last outing. Maybe that's what they are looking for. (I'm grasping at straws here) Pitch to contact?
  5. If Wade can keep hitting I sure hope they move him up mid-season. We really could use a backup OF should one of our guys get injured. He made the adjustments he needed to pretty quickly. Really glad Park is back in the lineup. Rather doubt we'll ever see him in a Twins uniform again, but I'm glad he is healthy.
  6. Buddy Boshers has a lower WHIP and a higher K/9 in his MLB career than Wilk. We already have the incredibly talented Justin Haley who must be great because Flavine picked him up in a Rule 5 ‘coup’. . I don’t understand how anyone can defend this move. If he comes in and is a great pitcher out of the bullpen, well that would be nice. There is no statistic anywhere that suggests that is likely to happen.
  7. Wilk to the pen. OK. Here again though, they show no interest in the players in this organization. We have Baxendale, Busenitz, Fernandez, Hildenberger and Rucinski all posting a lower WHIP in AAA than Wilk is. Businitz, Hildenberger and Rucinski are posting a better K/9 as well. So why are the guys being called up the ones Flavine pick up? It’s starting to occur that there is a huge ego problem with this FO.
  8. I don't want to write what I really think. It would get me a warning point. I'll just note that I think this occurs as almost childish.
  9. Question: Hector has been sitting for a long time now. He only has 70 pitches. Do you bring him back out?
  10. We sent Butera to the Dodgers and received Miguel Subaran in return. Sulbaran pitched for the NYY AA and AAA teams last year. He wasn't very good at it, though I don't know why we gave up on a 20 year old in A ball. Did we trade him?
  11. In 1991 Jack Morris pitched a 10 inning shutout in the World Series. It wasn't the first time a pitcher had pitched into extra innings in World Series. Long ago a very talented young pitcher named Babe Ruth pitched a complete 14 inning World Series game and won 2-1. Ruth (career 89-46 record to that point) was relieved of his pitching duties and moved to the outfield 4 years later (by some other team). It will be one or the other. Not both.
  12. I thought Thorpe had been abducted by aliens. This is good news. Thanks Seth.
  13. There is no way they draft McKay 1/1 as a position player. If they take him it will be as a pitcher.
  14. Dozier did roll his ankle but he stayed in the game. Yes, extra innings played into it. I'm guessing Molitor values Joe's 1B play highly.
  15. I was at the game and I was very annoyed that Kennys Vargas pinch hit for Dozier. I mean, yeah, Dozier isn't hitting, but he's at least a home run threat, right? I thought Molitor should have let Dozier bat and let Kennys pinch hit for Mauer. So much for my idea. It was great.Really a fun game.
  16. If Kranson can keep hitting he would certainly be one to push, as he's already 23 years old. Any word on what his defense looks like?
  17. It's all so damned depressing I'd almost do the stupid-ass wave for a distraction. You had me until the last line...
  18. Thanks for the feedback. Question: Doesn't Smith have a bunch of stolen bases? If he has speed then I would think his bat would profile well in a corner OF position. Thoughts?
  19. Dammit! I met you downtown and didn't know it was you!
  20. Me too, but only because they would never leave me in that long.
