    As far as selling, I feel we will end up there without a big reveral of form (we still have 4 - 6 weeks to figure it out). Problem with selling this year is from the standings their are going to be fewer buyers and they can choose to be picky. That is a bigger issue here.

    My comment about the manager was because Twins need the Latino core to stay and be competitive in the 2020 - 2025 era. If they cannot be extended (or do not want to be) that would speak volumes on their long term plans. Escobar, Polanco, Rosario, Sano, Berrios, Romero. These are players we cannot afford to lose or you may be talking rebuild sooner than you like.

    I would be looking to trade with with clubs like Boston, NYY, Houston, Milwaukee, Cleveland. These clubs have decent farm systems and we have players they need. I would be looking for players with upside who are blocked with their current clubs. Aim high, twins should be able to get multiple offers for their starters, and some offers for their relievers.

    I would start by firing Molly and hiring a Latin manager with some fire. I would then trade Rodney, Reed, Duke, Pressly, hopefully Cleveland will give us something decent for 2 of these. Trade Lynn and Gibson to either Boston or NY, they both need starters. Trade Dozier if you can get a decent offer. Otherwise will probably have to give a QO at end of year. Try and get the young core to sign longer extensions, consider trading those who do not sign in the off-season. All offers must be reasonable, not giveaways or salary relief.

    The question is quickly becoming how much do you tear down, or do you try firing Molly first. Season is probably lost. Next few months will determine how good this FO is.

    Lynn, Gibson, Ordrizzi should all bring a decent return. Many of the top clubs need extra starters, twins seem to have better than most. Position players will be Penny's on the dollar. A lot of those to be had.

    I agree about this next series. Losing the series would put us a minimum of 7.5 games out and would for me bring out the FOR SALE sign (open for business). Best news is that our pitching is decent and that may well be the commondity most in demand this selling season. My guess is that position players in contract years will not yield much in return. Return may be better if done early, but hard to see this team doing that.

    Escobar and Magill

    Remember Magill faced KC which is one of the worst hitting teams in the league. Call this small sample size.

    Problem with that is if he hits around .200, that makes him a 4th outfielder. If this is your belief. trade him now before the league draws the same conclusion and he has no trade value. That is the Twins quandary at this time.

    Right now I am guessing it would be an interesting but not a top prospect. Maybe in the 5 - 10 range in a top rated system or maybe even less. I am sure Twins have gotten a number of buy low offers on Buxton this year. It never hurts to ask.

    I think you could trade him, but return would be much lower than his value. Only way I would is if I was convinced that we had seen all that he was at this time, before the rest of the league caught on. I for one do not believe this is the case.

    I feel you have another 5 - 6 weeks to figure this out. Too early to make this decision. It will be made for us in a few weeks. If the Indians run away, then we will be sellers outwise let it play out.

    Odds of the 74th draft pick working out are extremely low. Catching in this draft is supposed to be light, so this could just be depth. Am more concerned that the Twins need a better relief staff and more hitting. Our window is now so this trade is "meh" to me.

    Couple of points. 1. If you trade Sano, you are going to have to sign Escobar as Twins do not have a thirdbaseman close to the majors. 2. Message is worse, if you trade your best Latin player, what does that say to the rest of the group. I am hoping to keep most of them long term, this could be a special group, don't mess this up.

    If this is the case, put May in the pen and cut Hughes. I know this is painful moneywise, but the division can be taken if we can put on a hot streak. Other side of the coin, if this club continues to not preform, trade everything that is not part of the future in June and July. You have 1 1/2 months to figure this out.

    Kepler is playing his way into a long term piece here if he wants to be. I am hoping that is the case.

    The factors mentioned above is why Jackie Robinson became the first black ballplayer signed. Because he had a thick skin and did not let things get to him. Can this kid do it, only time will tell, but he will not get a third chance if he screws up, and I also mean reacting the wrong way to the fans who will heckle him.

    Ramos may be available by midseason, and maybe the Twins will not be in the race and won't need the upgrade. Waiting is my best option, and if the Twins are still in the race a month from now, maybe the Rays won't be and you can get Ramos for a mid level prospect.

    Do not see May in a starting role. Whose place does he take and what do the Twins do when Santana returns. Plus Twins need starters to go 6 - 7 innings Santana and Berrios will give them that at least some of the time. Rest of the staff has more issues getting there though I think Romero will give them 6 most of the time. If May is a starter, seems strange to move Lynn to the pen and cut Hughes. I am assuming Hughes will be cut at some point in time, just do not know when.

    All that says to me is that Bard is about equal to Curtiss, neither has enough command now to pitch a lot at the major league level. Whether either or both will ever be effective at the major league level is still not known. I would come closer to betting on Bard,

    This sort of feels like some of my experiences where a new manager is hired over a department, and in about 6 months to a year you see some of their people coming from their old company, and people the new manager does not like leaving. This was the point I was making. It could be entirely baseball judgement, but the fact that Chargois is already on a major league roster, Burdi is on the DL, and Bard was just returned seems to tell me that other GM's have different valuations of this players.

    I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Chargois and Bard both seem to be as good if not better than Curtiss. Burdi could be the lottery ticket. At the current time, do not see Curtiss having the necessary control of his slider to be effective at the major league level. Will keep an eye on this and could be wrong, but am worried about the trend.

    Let's see, Chargois, Burdi, Bard(returned by a club in the same boat as the Twins(though he could have been claimed by kept on the 25 man roster of a bad club). These are all pitchers taken in the last year. Jury is still out, but this could still go very bad.

    Maybe the new FO has decided to move on from TR's boys, so they can't be compared.
