  1. That is where the trust in Zimmer comes in for me IMHO. The fact he basically switched from RB to LB and di pretty damn well is a nice sign to me. Clearly they knew who they wanted and they went and got him, gotta love the upside, reminds me of Patterson a bit who also was knocked for being "raw".
  2. That was a straight up domination across the board, other than that soft goal Bryz gave up the Wild looked pretty freaking good tonight. I know "momentum" doesn't mean a lot in the NHL playoffs, however the Wild have to feel good going to back to Chicago scoring 7 goals against Crawford these last 2 games (should have been 8 on the Granlund no goal). Cooke back in the lineup is huge, that 3rd line is real, real sexy all of a sudden. Little Spurgeon has come up huge these playoffs as well.
  3. Phew...for a minute I thought this post was by my folks in reference to the day they found out they were pregnant with me.

  5. Bridgewater went from being the consensus #1 (or #2 if you liked Clowney) for the 2nd half of the football season and early into the "drafting season" all the way to the end of the first round because of his pro day.... and because his hands are apparently small-which is BS and pointless IMO (1/8th smaller then golden boy Bortles, and 1/8th bigger then Kaerpernick) I think the Vikings got an absolute STEAL in him. The guy played in a pro style offense in Louisville, went 31/4 and completed a good % of his passes. The fact that they worked him out privately 3 different times and worked well with Norv are all very positive signs. Barr is interesting, if it was anyone but Zimmer who made that pick I would be concerned, but I think the upside is huge. There is a very good chance that in 4 years we look back and say not only did the Vikings get the best QB in the draft, but also the 2nd best defensive player in the draft.
  6. I actually ran into this problem with itunes in the past as well for an app, you just have to take the words MLB/ Minnesota Twins out of the meta data...it sucks especially for the search in itunes but MLB/Minnesota Twins are indeed trademarked. It is annoying, but it is what it is, if they allowed everyone to use those terms in the metadata the searches would be a disaster to navigate. However it is pretty damn annoying that they simply remove all of the podcasts from itunes completely, they easily could have just removed all references to MLB/Twins etc in the meta data, while allowing people who already know the podcast/search for the podcast to find it.
  7. Go Get Him Jerry Ryan! [video=youtube;wighvyxg5d8]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wighvyxg5d8
  8. A .683 OPS isn't world beating, but it certainly isn't that bad. Does he hit worse against LHP? (Yes, just as most LHB do) Is he a liability against them? Absolutely not. He also can hit outside of Fenway (Which is only his 8th best park, 6th best when you take away the very SSS)
  9. Your list is incomplete. #FreeDeRosa
  10. Knew it.
  11. Non story. Not a big deal, I remember when people were freaking out about Kaepernick wearing a Dolphins hat or something. He is wearing the hat for the style/color/look, not to support the Dodgers or whatever. I could see people getting a bit upset if he was wearing a White Sox or Tigers hat, but the Twins and Dodgers aren't exactly rivals (unless you are still upset about 1965) which I am sure Chief is as game 7 ruined his 40th birthday party that day
  12. Slightly NSFW...but not really. http://www.jibjab.com/view/hhy6Bj4KQJ-ZfMaFbUYTag http://www.jibjab.com/view/hhy6Bj4KQJ-ZfMaFbUYTag
  13. For overall walks? yeah a little. For each hitters swing rate? Not so much. That inning was more or less just one at bat for each of the guys, ntm several of them swung at other strikes in the at-bats.
  14. Not to mention Mauer has been slow out of the gates as well, Arcia/Hammer and Mauer will make up for a lot of the regression out of the Suzukis and maybe Cola. I don't think they can maintain top offense in the AL, but if they can keep it in the top 5 and the pitching can be league average they will have a shot.
  15. Is it too late to draft Prior or Tex instead?
  16. Yeah, also Suzuki has been playing pretty well overall. Defense has been solid, Gibson has been good (may have nothing to do with Kurt but....who knows) and he has been getting on base at a .375 clip. No real reason to pull him from the spot when you are still able to play PInto so often because of the reasons you mentioned.
  17. The Twins clearly have a pretty solid rotation of: Nolasco, Gibson, Hughes, Correia at this point. 5th starter has about 5,000 options so not super worried about that. The lineup appears to have a nice amount of guys who look like major league hitters: Dozier, Plouffe, Mauer, Kubel, Cola, Arcia and Pinto all look at the very least to be legit every day players. Ditto with Willingham if he ever figures out to be healthy. Why not take the time now and sign Stephen Drew to that lovely 3 year deal we know that he would absolutely take in a heartbeat? Again, still prob not enough to legitmately give the Twins the bullets to compete for the playoffs...this year. But maybe enough to get us to the 74-80 win range to get us primed for a real nice run next year once Buxton, May, Sano and MORE! hit the scene.
  18. I think if AJ was going to come back he would have came this year, by next year we will know if Pinto is going to be a full time catcher, if he isn't the Twins will need to aim higher than AJ IMHO. Liriano- As much as I would love to get him back, I don't see it happening. I think he gets snagged up by another NL team. Hardy- Yes I would welcome him back in a heartbeat. Money talks, I think he would come back. Torii/Cuddy- I actually think Hunter would be a perfect signing for this team. He would be a great mentor for Buxton/Hicks. Hunter-Buxton-Hicks with Arcia as DH next year gives you a pretty nice defensive and offensive OF (assuming Hicks can stick)
  19. remember, it always could be worse [video=youtube;Q3b5aOelFL4]
  20. Yes, that would be some of the "luck" involved which honestly happens in every sport. However, if a driver qualifies near the front, and continues to stay near the front he is exponentially less likely to be involved in "the big wreck" the majority of those wrecks are started in the mid to the back of the pack. As much as I hate Jimmy Johnson, there is a reason why he is involved in maybe only one or two big wrecks a year, it's because he is always near the front. Meanwhile someone like Danica (not picking on her, she is just a well known name) is involved in a ton of wrecks because she is usually running someone between 15-30 in a race.
  21. I know you jest, but that actually does exist.
  22. It creates 4 guys going for the championship on the last race of the year (whoever finishes first wins)
  23. Yes, under the new playoff format that would be the case....and it would be awesome.
