  1. Colorado is a much better matchup, if we can make it to round 2 and face the Blues then ideally the Blackhawks beat them up a bit in round 1.
  2. Nolasco looked great! Now onto Hughes and Pelf
  3. No way should they bring up Buxton when he gets off the DL, nothing good could come out of that.
  4. 2008, 2010, he showed a few promising flashes last year as well.
  5. DeDuno is NOT their best starter. Nolasco, Correia and Hughes have the track record. Gibson has significantly more upside, the only one you can make an argument for is Pelfrey who also had his moments in 2013 as well. Honestly, there is really no excuse to be pitching poorly in the bullpen
  6. I think you have to let a couple months go by before you get too panicked about the FA pitchers. Some guys are just slow starters in general, Nolasco and Hughes don't worry me in the least, in fact I think Hughes starts bouncing back ASAP. The guy showed some nice fortitude yesterday after a horrendous first part of the first inning. Pelfrey.. I didn't see the game today, but I am not going to freak over a single start, maybe he bombs completely, but its not like they gave him a ton of cash, I think he ends up ok as well. The bullpen is a concern no doubt, but bullpen guys are easier to replace, and the Twins have a lot of nice young talent in the wings like Tonkin and even a guy like Guerra.
  7. There is about a 0% chance he would get fired before the season would end, I couldn't see any scenario in the Twins doing that unless they were somehow already at 100 losses in early sept, even then. Nope. Also, I think he will be back next year regardless. If the Twins had intentions of letting him go they would have this past off-season, it would be foolish to keep him around for 4 losing seasons then can him right before the next wave of talent (Buxton/Sano/Meyer/Rosario/May/etc) were all ready to go.
  8. It would be quite smart.
  9. Don't look know but a Minnesota team actually made the playoffs! It has been a real up and down year for the Wild, many of the downs were due to injuries. With Brys having the hot hand I honestly think this team can make a deep run in the playoffs....assuming they don't get screwed and matched up with the blue is round 1.
  10. I would do this, however I have found my quality of life and happiness is about 200% greater when I "accidentally" miss a Twins game any of the last 3 seasons.
  11. Why couldn't Perkins go two innings again?
  12. Great walk Burton....
  13. We need a gif of Perkins walking off the mound with donaldson coming after him with: "haters gonna hate"
  14. Good at bat by Plouffe, tough result.
  15. It really was a tough one, I don't know how Cespedes didn't catch that ball, he must have been playing very far back and still had a bad jump.
  16. You aren't factoring in that Hermann is a replacement level (or worse) hitter.
  17. Instant replay sucks. Another Bud Selig idea that screws up the game.
  18. I'm pretty sure nearly every manager in the game does the same thing in that situation. Down two, 9th inning, zero outs with basically a 9th hitter at the plate. Really a no brainer to be honest.
  19. 1. Hermann sucks at hitting. 2. It allows you to tie the game with one single if he does pull it off. Of course he didn't....
  20. Nolasco is our Jack Morris? Now all we need is DeRosa to be our Chilli Davis and we will be there!
  21. I also got $50 on the Wild at 58:1 to win the Stanley Cup a month or two ago, that one I think actually could pay off. Homer bets are the best
  22. Before today's performance I would argue he is one of the best 3 catchers to have ever played the game, but after today I think its safe to say he ranks somewhere between Junior Ortiz and Juan Castro in terms of HOF worthyness.
  23. I think this thread is at least 90 days premature at the very least.
  24. UZR and Range KILLED him last year but prior he was close to average as a SS, from the eyebal test (take with 10 grains of salt) I think he has the chance to play a solid SS. Lifetime .692 isn't going to set the world on fire, but it is probably at least .100 more than what our current SS options would give us. Plus he has a little speed and some upside left.
