  2. Comparing Suzuki (or any major leaguer) to Collabello is a fruitless task.
  3. Yes, it would be a conflict of interest for sure.
  4. You should contract someone out to specifically deal with the networks. Give them like a 10-20% commission and I bet you will see a nice increase in CPM (Revenue) and zero more auto play ads. And no, I am not nominating myself. The network game is depressing and dirty.
  5. Try to extend him for 2015 for 2.5 mil or so. Even if he reverts to his career norm he is a nice piece to have on the team as a part time catcher. If Pinto can be the every day guy and someone from the minors steps up as a capable back up, then you can always trade him.
  6. That was never us running those ****ty ads, that was the stupid ass networks we sold the remnants ads too. There are networks out there that actually will not run auto sound ads. I'd suggest leaving USA Today Sports period, it's a sinking ship. You guys obviously know that landscape better than I these days, but is SB Nation or Fan Sided an option? At least you don't get stuck with the crappy ads.
  7. Stop. Running. With. Crappy. Networks.
  8. To be fair, I posted a thread about 6 weeks after the original one saying I was very very pleased to be so wrong. This thread was put up after I attended the Twins vs Royals game (it was KC Royals home opener) http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KCA/KCA201304080.shtml Dozier absolutely stunk up the joint that game, 0-4, 2k's and a GIDP. It's nice to see him truly turn it around 180 degrees and not only become a capable every day guy, but into a potential all-star level 2B. I agree with the sentitment that it is way too early to give up on Hicks as well, who is only 24, a lot of these guys don't hit their stride until 26-27-28 (See Gomez as well). Hopefully the Twins don't give up on Hicks because of a rough start to his career.
  9. I'm certainly not a troll...
  10. +1,000,000 and greatest game of all time.
  11. Sigh http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/81053-cubs-may-send-derosa-to-twins
  12. 2b- Dozier SS- DeRosa 1B- Mauer C- Pinto 3B- DeRosa CF- ReRosa LF- Arcia RF-DeRosa P-Derosa
  13. jk it is fine, however the ads are really really annoying. The bottom rail ones.
  14. BRUTAL way to lose last night. However, gotta be pumped moving forward, we took the champs to the brink and this series could have very easily went the other way. I'd still prefer to trade for Kessel. Vanek and Moulson both have their worts, but if it came down to it maybe Moulson would be a better value as we wouldn't have to give him too many years. We already have Koivu-Suter-Parise-Pominville under big contracts, need to have some flexibility moving forward to lock up key guys like Granlund etc Also, I wonder if it would be worth shopping Koivu (who I still think is very great) however if you can get a scorer and another blue liner for him I think you have to consider it. Especially since it looks like Granlund could easily be a number 1 center, and Coyle/Haula can be your 2/3.
  15. I don't even think Paneuf is a very good player, this team is pretty solid on defense with all the young talent etc. What they lack now is a scorer IMHO
  16. No way, costs way to much money.
  17. DeRosa can play CF...just sayin
  18. Yes! That was the one I forgot, I knew his real name but forgot his screen name on here.
  19. I would stay away from Callahan, he is going to break down sooner rather than later, if you could get him for 3 years or so, yeah go for it, but the Rangers or some other team will be dumb enough to give him 6+ years. Vanek sounds intriguing, but I don't know if handing out a huge contract is the best thing to do. You could always bring Gaborik back, but not sure if that makes sense. Moulson could be interesting to keep around, he has laid a turd in the playoffs but apparently he was playing through injury, maybe you bring him back as a scorer and give him far less years/money then Vanek. Defense should be fine, I really think they are solid from top to bottom there. Goalie is going to be a big concern moving forward, at this point there is nothing but question marks: Harding- Great goalie, zero reliability health wise. Backstrom- Broken down? Good goalie when healthy. Keumper- Inconsistent- Has the size though, but also...health! Brzgalov- I dunno. They have some depth and could always try to make some trades as well, Phil Kessel would look nice in a Wild uniform, and the Laffs may be dumb enough to trade him away without robbing us too much of our youth. Either way, the Wild, no matter what happens the rest of this series look primed to make a really nice run in the coming years.
  20. Who are the other failures? Garza pitched well when he was here. Loshe pitched pretty well when he was here. Dickey...knuckleballer Liriano- Is who we always knew he was (even if people like me didn't want to admit) Worley- Let's see him actually produce before we start jumping off bridges.
  21. I'm not sure how you can place blame on the Twins for Worley, they had him for over a year and he did squat for them, people can bemoan the fact that we signed Pelfrey all day long, but the fact is if Worley actually pitched even halfway decently he would have earned a roster spot (just like DeDuno and Gibson) FWIW: Liriano is in classic Liriano form again.
  22. Bridgewater is actually probably pretty close to NFL ready (especially when compared to some of the other QB's) while I think you roll with Cassel in week one, I wouldn't be shocked (nor upset) if Bridgewater is the starter around week 6 or so for the rest of the 2014 season. Right or wrong, the days of letting a QB sit on the bench for a year+ is probably behind us. Any thoughts on that RB they got in round 3? Don't know much about him but apparently he might play CB if RB doesn't work out?
