  1. Belle fourche represent!!! I have a dozen relatives who live there....however, kubel was only born there apparently and grew up in Cali. It's too bad if this is the end for him. Hell of a player to watch though and made a nice career for himself
  2. I don't see this as an attitude thing, I see this as a "he realizes this is prob the end of the road" type thing.
  3. Pohlad vs VodkaDave would make it all the way to the Supreme Court
  4. I think I deserve the credit, I had been calling for the twins to trade (and years later) sign Hughes for years. Saw him pitch a lot in NY, always had the stuff, just never lived up to the pressure of being the future ace hall of famer of the Yankees. I still think we could turn Joba into something useful as well
  5. That is because all the good ones were sold in strips (all three days) I guarantee you there will be good seats avail the weeks leading up on stub hub for that game. (Always check once it gets within 12 hours as the prices always drop)
  6. Our tix are in a luxury box and the legends club. They are like $2k each on stub hub right now. Unfortunately they give you the tickets at the gate, otherwise It would be a bit appealing to make a couple quick thousand by selling the all star game ticket and just keeping the home run derby and futures game one.
  7. I scored some last year on stub hub (Citi Field) the day before and they were like $10 each, I can't imagine they would be much more than that at Target Field, your average fan could care less about the futures game and the DREADFUL softball game crap.
  8. Oh god, I would never pay for them, they are thousands each for the full strip.
  9. I will be sitting in a suite, looking down at all your plebs. muahhahahaha
  10. Gardy (and the staff) get an B+ from me at this point. Dozier's continue emergence, Arcia and Plouffes improvements all are owed to him and the staff, Rick Anderson gets a ton of crap on the interwebs these days, but it should be noted that he may have helped turn Hughes into something resembling a potential Ace. The bullpen management has been pretty solid thus far as well, and I give them credit for figuring out the CF roster disaster thus far.
  11. Minnesota without a doubt has some of the worst (maybe not worst, but certainly lazy at times) beat writers around, other then Russo and Sinker (who isn't a beat writer but is great) I don't see a lot worth reading on a somewhat regular basis. The 4 guys here and Gleeman could write circles around these jokers. The timing of this article by Neal III seems suspect at the very least.
  12. I'm going to the Red Sox game on Monday and possibly Tuesday, chalk up at least one loss for that.
  13. You also cherry picked some stats. Dozier is 4th in WAR (fangraphs) in the league, and you skipped his SB fully. I did not say he should win, I say he should be considered. His HR/SB/R and position/defense he plays should have him in the discussion
  14. IMHO the Twins should have 3 all-stars this year: No-doubters- Brian Dozier & Glen Perkins. Dozier is not only turning into a top 2B in baseball, but is actually making a case for early MVP consideration. Perkins is one of the best RP in baseball year in and year out, deserves the nod anyways, but playing in his home park and closing out a hopeful AL win makes too much sense. Should be in- Phil Hughes- I think a lot of this will depend on where he comes up in the rotation (i.e. on 3-4 days rest before the game) at this point he certainly has earned a spot, however it often gets tricky with SP. Long shots- Suzuki- Has played well, but catcher is another tricky position to make it. Sanatana- Hasn't played enough games yet, but if he finishes the next 4 weeks out just like his first 4, I think he has a prayer of a chance to make the team as a super UTIL guy (after guys drop out due to injuries etc)
  15. Yeah, it's really too bad that this happened to him, by all accounts he seems like a stand up guy who likes playing in the org. Hopefully he can come back healthy in 2015 and contribute somewhere (even if it is as a 6th starter/bullpen type guy)
  16. I think Morales needed those ten days in the minors to get ready after all
  17. Absolutely fantastic, by far my favorite show on TV currently.
  18. If you want to move Mauer down in the lineup, sure I can understand where you are coming from a bit. However moving him down isn't going to "take the pressure" off of him or whatever. Mauer is a Pro's Pro, whatever is causing this slump certainly isn't pressure/expectations. I worry it's concussion related, and hope it's just **** luck.
  19. Gonna have to disagree with your police work there norm. We have Trevor Plouffe, Aaron Hicks, Oswaldo Arcia and Brian Dozier on line two for ya. The Twins let plenty of young players take there lumps in the majors. I think the reality is that Pinto, though a nice player, just doesn't hit enough to be an everyday DH in this league. However, if he can at least prove to be a somewhat decent defensive catcher, he has the potential to be one of the better hitting ones in the league. I think the Morales signing says that the Twins want to make a run at it this year, and I for one am very happy for that.
  20. No, no it is not the issue here. I get that you despise everyone in charge of the Twins org and want changes across the board...but you are really reaching here.
  21. The Dave reverse jinx works again! Glad to see KC step up last night, to the people saying he was lucky....with a lineup featuring that many home run hitters...you don't just get lucky shutting them down. DeDuno is now the one on thin ice I imagine.
  22. With the recent pickup of Morales and the slight slide the Twins are on, it is clear they need to start winning games now. If Correia goes out and throws a turd (4+ ER in 5IP or so), what do you think the chances are that we see Johnson or someone else take his next start?
  23. This thread is strange. Gardy clearly likes Pinto and has played him a good amount. However he is spot on by saying that Pinto needs to step it up either defensively (to stick at C) or offensively (to stick as a DH/part time C)
