  1. My take on 2B is that we are perpetually drafting SS’s, trading for prospects or signing FA’s in the hope that one turns out to be an allstar 2B man. Its been decades of this and we have never really hit on one. The next man up thru the draft is Luke Keaschall. The immediate placeholders are Julien/Gasper. Martin already has been sent to AAA to learn more OF. The long play this season is LK. He has more solid potential in all 5 tools than any other current infielder except C4 but we know he won’t be playing 2B. Bet on LK. He is going to be fun to watch.
  2. I just read that Gasper and Kiersey are making the opening day roster!! I'm definitely rooting for these two underdogs!! Lets find that last RP for the roster and get to kickin butt in St. Louis!!
  3. They never rush anyone so when Keaschall shows up, it’s because he is ready. He played DH until august with a torn ucl and they planned his surgery so he could play defense all/most of this season. His bat already plays in MLB so we shouldn’t have to worry about wrecking him. I would not be surprised if there is a long debate about him or Martin on the opening day roster.
  4. We pretty much don’t do well getting productive 4th OF’s that can play CF. Bader might be solidly average but we got better options going forward. It’s cool to have him as a bridge to erod/jenkins but he probs won’t have a large role after this season. Hopefully his defensive chops last into his mid 30’s. Doubtful his bat can be counted on. On the bright side, we have in house replacements that are developing that have a higher ceiling.
  5. Canterino is going on the 60 day so a 40 man spot opens up. Preillip would be a great addition!
  6. Looked like he rolled his left ankle badly when he and Winoker collided at 2B fielding a soft ground ball. He got stepped on with his foot rolled in. Ugly in slow motion! He walked off the field but then limped into a golf cart to get checked out.
  7. Im not saying LK is Nelson Cruz or Otani (who did DH all of last season after TJ surgery). Frim what I read, LK should be playing defense by May’25 so whats a few weeks if he is basically a full time DH/PH while he is finishing up his build up. Playing in the field for an inning or three every couple days is what he would be doing in the minors anyhow. If his bat is MLB, he is a much better option than Martin.
  8. Gasper just left today’s game with an injury. He was playing 2B and had hit a leadoff HR.
  9. Trade Martin to philly for Castellano? Could Keaschall be rostered to be the DH? He is right handed and can also fill whatever roll Martin would have. …. late inning PH and Emergency break glass defensive utility guy until his arm is full strength. That would also allow a steady defensive line up with Miranda at 3B and Castro at 2B. I know that doesn’t work well for Baldelli who likes to play bingo balls with his day to day roster.
  10. Welp, Lee is going to be officially starting the season on the IL so hello Mickey Gasper and welcome back Eddy Julien. This is gonna be head scratching. Maybe Kiersey gets the 5th outfield spot so we can have someone to root for! Also read that Castellano won't be on the 26 man so who will get the last bullpen spot??
  11. Wallner is just getting to the point of becoming a regular OF. Sending him to 1B is probably premature. The FO was counting on AK to be 1B before his retirement that just happened so there is gonna be some transition time involved. Hopefully France is back to his allstar status vs. injury plagued barf of 2 seasons.
  12. I remember that time when they actually taught Josh Donaldson a different way to run….
  13. He pitched 49 innings for the twins last year. He wasn’t very effective and it turned into a lot of garbage time as a SP. I do agree they should have moved him to the bullpen sooner but HE insisted at trying to be a SP. If that had been more successful, we would’ve not seen SWR as much and certainly less of Festa and Matthews. Now that he has accepted his bullpen roll, he understands that max effort is how he gets people out. His stuff will always play and the bullpen will be better with him in it. If he can got 2 innings per outing, he could become a legendary stopper.
  14. No doubt we will sign another fa OL before camp. We will be lucky to get 2-3 viable players in the draft. Previous recent history suggests possibly one but I think Kwesi may have enough experience finally to do average or above in this draft.
  15. I expect Varland to throw 98mph gas, a wipeout curve ball and a drop dead change up. He should be good for up to 6 outs per appearance and have. Sub 3.0 era and 1.2 whip. Probs make the all star team in ‘26.
  16. Depth on the Twins is good/great until a couple guys get hurt at the same time. It gets really thin if both Lewis and Lee start the season on the IL. Yes we have guys but its not the same. They may have to trust a rookie to DH and eventually play in the field. Hopefully Lee gets back in the lineup this week because the depth is real thin if anyone else goes down.
  17. A bit early. He hasn’t even played a regular season game for the Twins yet.
  18. I missed that. Thanks for sharing it again. I can’t speak for other posts but “too strong” or “too much muscle” hasn’t been my issue. Its the type of muscle development and that simply building muscle mass adds different issues. Lack of recovery, soft tissue brittleness, over training syndrome…. Lots of ways to gain strength but it seems certain programs aren’t working for some athletes very well.
  19. I am 💯 % sure they are cutting edge smart but whatever program they have going… It isn't keeping Lewis healthy.
  20. Well lets consider that every human body and personality is different. For example, In the last 4 years, Royce and bulked up probably 35-40 lbs and supposedly changed his training over the last off season to be leaner/faster. How would anyone not in his inner orbit have a clue what has and hasn’t worked for him. All we see is a non stop string of injuries. Now take that one example and expand it 30-40 years and how training methods have changed n an industry that barely existed in the 1970’s. No one in this forum is qualified to answer any questions about why so many soft tissue injuries happen. Thats why I read a couple well published studies. I stand by my previous statements.
  21. It just means fangraphs thinks 16 other people are better prospects at this point in time. No body cares. Jenkins is barely 20 years old and isn't MLB ready yet or should be at this time. He said he wants to bust the MLB door down in the next year. Ok, sty healthy and play great. Bust down the door. Time will tell with all prospects.
  22. You don’t think trainers bend the rules, look the other way or just flat out cheat things? The whole steroid era had absolutely nothing to do with trainers 🤡
  23. I was simply passing along information thats been studied and published. I don’t care if you believe it or not.
  24. It’s not my research. It only took me a minute to find the info. Im not gonna hold your hand. I can out lazy you all day.
  25. National Institute of Health disagrees with you. They have published sports injury data from studies for decades. The data is not hard to find or understand.
