Why in the world would the Twins take back the trade? Steer and Encarnacion Strand don't have a place here with the Twins, and Mahle (when healthy) is a #2 starter. He certainly looked it last night.
When the Twins have a playoff rotation that includes Lopez, Mahle and Ryan, would you still take back the trade of a couple prospects we don't have space for?
What a roster! This one may be the most interesting of all affiliates for prospect fans.
Don't love reading that Marco Raya has any sort of shoulder issue though. That's concerning.
When Berrios was traded in 2021, at that point he was leading the AL in innings pitched.
When the Twins have had good/quality starting pitching, they've let them do their thing.
That was a fun survey! I have a really hard time assuming who will be a relief pitcher to start the year, so that one (to me) is anyone's guess.
Thanks!
Hypothetically, if Miranda were to flip to 1b, with Royce Lewis at 3b (just roll with me here) where would you put Miranda in the 1b pecking order?
Inquiring minds.
I'm in the 84-88 range, and IF health is solid in July, then I anticipate addition(s) will happen to better the team come playoff time. IF things truly break right, I can see low 90's in wins. I also think the floor is very high, and I don't see a way that the team wins less than 80.
I guess I care about him being healthy in September and October a LOT more than I do in early/mid march.
I'll worry a week to 10 days from now if the number is still zero for him, if that makes sense.
Ok, let's say there aren't injuries between now and opening day, how would you lay out your pitching rotation?
Here is a thought...
1) Lopez
2) Mahle
3) Ryan
4) Gray
5) Ober
Bullpen
Maeda
Moran
Alcala
Pagan
Thielbar
Jax
Duran
Lopez
This would mover Megill and Cole Sands to AAA, but it lines up ok right? The order of the starting rotation could change, Thoughts?
DH against righties, and where does he play against lefties when the DH spot is PROBABLY (at least my guess) going to Buxton?
That could work though, I like the thinking. Julien's bat certainly looks ready, even if there are questions for where he can help the team defensively.
Yeah, for me, if one of Dollander, Crews, Langford, Clark or Skenes is there at 5, that’s my pick. This is obviously subject to change, and certainly fun to follow
