  1. Love this list Jamie. It's fun to read through, and the Twins will add some really good prospects to the organization this July. :) A thought for you; I really am excited about the potential of Kyle Teel. I would rank him behind Crews/Langford/Jenkins/Clark, but not a LOT behind them. And if the Twins took Teel at 5, I would be excited for his bat and his arm coming to the Twins. My question for you; let's say the Twins take Teel and is able to save (possibly) some draft allocated money. Who is someone that you would pursue to over-slot pay to get to 34 in that scenario?
  2. Ryan's velocity dipped quite a bit at the end of the 6th compared to the rest of the game. If you are assuming that he would give you another full inning, while throwing 87 mph fastballs, then I don't know what to tell you. I would argue that keeping in a tired pitcher is more stupid than not at that point. Lopez is a good pitcher, and Eloy got him for a homerun on a pitch 8 inches inside. Sometimes you just tip your cap. And, lastly, just because bringing in a reliever in a specific spot didn't work in this specific game DOES NOT MEAN that doing something different would yield a different result.
  3. Agreed here, I am not at all saying that Gallo is the perfect leadoff option. I just don't see how Kepler is the best option here in my opinion.
  4. I know Nick Nelson mentioned it in a different thread, but I have a hard time understanding why Kepler is batting in prominent spots in the lineup. It doesn't make sense to me at all. The way they are hitting, I'd prefer for Gallo to hit leadoff and Kepler 7th. Or, really, I'd prefer to have Kirilloff up and not have Kepler starting.
  5. Ober's most likely going to start on Sunday. That would be his regular turn, and so far the listed starter for Sunday is tbd.
  6. Ok, so before the trade deadline, who does everyone hope to target to help the offense?
  7. This is great! And I still can't wait for a Mahle extension! Hopefully that comes soon.
  8. Teel is having a GREAT year, and his arm is exciting. Is he someone you could see them taking at #5? I don't see him falling to #34.
  9. I have a feeling it's going to be Winder taking over the Sands role. I'm not certain what happens with Maeda, but I can't see him going to the bullpen yet. It is good to have solid depth though.
  10. Kepler is the obvious answer here, barring health.
  11. I think it's Maeda who we are talking about. Mahle's stuff is too good, barring health.
  12. I find it fascinating that Ober is 8 months older than Pablo Lopez. But yeah, hopefully he can stay healthy and hopefully he gets a shot because either he earned it (which is probable) and not because of injuries.
  13. So the minor league report from yesterday (4/13) lists Connor Prielipp as the potential starter for Cedar Rapids Friday night, but then Friday night comes around and he wasn't the starter for Cedar Rapids. He also is not listed as the projected starter for tonight (Saturday) or tomorrow. Anyone have any word why?
  14. Now all we need is Teri Hatcher saying that the win was real, and yes the win was spectacular :)
  15. I feel like Kepler is going to be fighting to come back if everyone else is healthy. I also think that Royce Lewis might be in this mix come June. But yeah, hopefully health is good for this group.
  16. Best targeted (real life) ad I ever saw; I was golfing at Hidden Greens in Hastings years back, and I sliced my drive on hole one into the trees. I see a sign on a tree as I walk to find my ball, and it read "If you can read this sign, call this number, I'm a golf teacher and I will fix your slice." I didn't call, but I still remember the ad :)
  17. I clicked on Kyle Jones' link as he is listed as the pitcher for Cedar Rapids above. It lists Kyle as a 2b/ss still in college. I think the starting pitcher isn't that player. FYI
  18. Dullard is such a great burn. That one needs to be used much more often.
  19. I see the Rangers have the 4th pick, but the 16th most draft slot money to use. This is due to losing their 2nd and 3rd round picks with the signings of DeGrom and Eovaldi. Jeremy, what do you think the chances are that the Rangers take a signability player at #4 due to this? I'd have to imagine the odds of that are fairly high, no?
  20. Most scouting reports I've seen on Salas don't believe that he will be a SS in the majors. Stay there as long as you can, but he more likely will flip to 3b eventually. As far as high A goes, I hope both of them have healthy and productive seasons. They both are exciting for different reasons.
  21. I wish Steer well. He seems like a good dude, and he has an opportunity to make his place in MLB. Good for him. IF he becomes a 5 time all star, I'd be shocked. I suppose every team has to have an all star, but the pitching in Cincy looks pretty bright for a few years now. I'm not going to lose sleep over him being traded to bring in Mahle though. I'm excited we have a pitcher as quality as Mahle is.
  22. Both of them have a LONG way to go to get there. A LONG way. Heck, they'd have a LONG WAY to go to make our roster right now, right? If they get a chance elsewhere and even become mlb regulars, good for them. Wish them the best. Also hoping for a Mahle extension at some point. You make this trade every single day of the week when you were in the position Twins were at that point.
