  1. I wouldn’t want Ryan traded for prospects either. Acquiring players for either of them that might be in the majors in 2028 is an absolute non-starter For players that can actually help in 2026 id very much listen. Even then the bar to trade him is high.
  2. Yes, because one of them is at the height of their trade value and the other isn’t. Lopez being a high character guy isn’t a bad thing.
  3. I am. It’s me. Lopez will be on the team in 2026. Ryan on the other hand.
  4. 2nd on. I would be surprised if he is still im the rotation even during spring training
  5. Of the players you mentioned, the only 2 I think can still be on the 40 man are Pareda (they don't have other catchers ready on the mlb roster, and he can be solid depth at St. Paul) and Ryan Kreidler. I think Kreidler sticks as well for a couple of reasons. Those reasons are mostly me reading tea leaves, but... 1) Played in Detroit's system and did make his debut in Pittsburgh this year. Shelton certainly knows him. 2) Riley Greene, Detroit left fielder, is quoted as saying that Kreidler was one of the best ss's Greene had ever played with during his baseball career. His bat has mostly stunk so far, but if he does have the ability to be a backup SS defensively, then I think he has a spot here. Generally, I think they'd work hard to also bring Ryan Fitzgerald back as a minor league free agent.
  6. I agree, and I think there are probably 7 teams at minimum that can realistically offer a much better deal than the Giants can. I just figured I'd throw it out for Bailey specifically as I think he is the type of player that could help the team in 2026 and beyond with his defense. But still, a headliner also being someone not in the top 50 prospects in baseball is a non-starter.
  7. Just came back to throw out a concept of an idea. This deal alone is just not enough as listed. It's probably not even halfway there, especially when considering other teams will make offers. Let's say the Giants are ok putting Patrick Bailey on the table. His offense is just not good, but he is among the best defensive catchers in baseball. They certainly could make a play for Realmuto this offseason instead and then have Bailey available for trade. How far apart would the deal be if the offer for Ryan was... 1) Patrick Bailey 2) Josuar Gonzalez 3) Hayden Birdsong I STILL feel like it's not enough. But I will say Bailey would help transform the defense. This kind of idea would intrigue me more than the original offer/naming. Thoughts?
  8. I have to think the trade market will be looked at, and there have to be lots of options more inspiring than the ones listed here. I have a few off the top of my head, but trying to pair a 1b platoon WITH Kody Clemens is begging to lose more games. They have to find a more inspiring 1B than either the ones listed here or just going with Clemens.
  9. It’s not enough help in the near term, and arguably how you laid it out is less coming back than they got for Duran at the deadline. I don’t see an 18 year old being a headliner here in my opinion
  10. As someone who would take Zebby right now over any starter not named Pablo or Ryan, I hope he is a fixture in the rotation. I also see no point to moving Prielipp to the bullpen any time soon. David Festa, to me, seems like a great bullpen option. They will have to make moves, but they have some other talent they could try out there too. We will see.
  11. Awesome as always Jamie! Thank you! Do you see a scenario where the Twins get the #1 pick and do not take Cholowsky? Or do you see a scenario where they get the #2 pick and Cholowsky is gone and they don't pick Emerson? I guess to me that's the way it is shaping up right now. The pitchers you listed certainly are interesting to me too. I don't love hearing of preps that have swing and miss in their game this high, but exciting to dream on everyone here in different ways.
  12. For opening day 26? Or for all of time? Dan Hayes literally today said the price for Ryan is starting with two top 50 prospects, one of which is ready now and the other could be a lottery ticket. That’s the starting point, and it’s a fair one
  13. Most of the players that were traded were free agents to be. After that the others were relievers which, historically, do bring good value especially during the in season deadline. No starting pitching was traded, no prospects were traded.
  14. I think that’s pretty majorly undervaluing the players that would be coming back in a deal, especially for Ryan. That’s all I meant.
  15. You traded players but got nothing back that could help the team more than James Outman being both A) On the team and B) The dh? Did they specifically receive players via trade that are still in high school?
  16. Trades are going to be the way this offseason. Otherwise, I’m just picturing Stanley tell Michael MONEY over and over and over
  17. The Twins have liked Tristan Casas for some time. Add him to Arias and Witherspoon and you have the makings of a deal
  18. This was a super fun read and a great job down fairly recent memory lane. Thank you for this.
  19. The guy I want with Minnesota ties is Sam Hentges. He is potentially on the chopping block for Cleveland with who they need to protect for their 40 man, and he SHOULD be nearing full health this offseason following August 2024 surgery and missing all of 2025. He was SO good in 2022 and 2023 in to 2024, and I'd very much make a play for him to give him a shot in the bullpen.
