    Let’s say Larnach is elsewhere as is Jeffers. I’d be curious where the focus would be to add. I very much think they need a real middle of the order bat, and am excited for promotions of top prospects. But getting a legit bullpen and getting Pablo back (and maybe more starting pitching too depending on how other guys progress) would be nice. But yeah, if Jeffers doesn’t accept the qo, and Larnach moves on, then they will have a lot of money to spend if they truly are going to raise payroll

    I always get thrown for a second when I see Cory listed as saying something I didn’t say. Had to remind myself which Cory said what. At least he spells his name correctly :)

    Gotta say, it would be nice to have someone who could defend at 2b like Massey does. Clemens is such a good story and has turned into a good player, but the entire infield defense just doesn’t compare to KC

    Yup, that starts again in the next month plus. Rugby and futbol are also huge, but lots of people here love golf and basketball as well as netball too (basically basketball without the backboard). But I haven’t found many that love baseball yet. Doesn’t mean I don’t

    Like a #3 starter, but actually have 2-3 pitchers ahead of him in the pecking order

    Ryan looks bad still. Ugh. But I also would prefer Jenkins defense in left or in center compared to who is out there currently

    Get Buxton healthy and get Royce actually rolling (if possible) as well as get Jenkins up, then this won’t be an issue

    I mean, I'd prefer actual reporters would work for major news networks and ask hard questions about real life things that matters of our elected officials instead of just generally being stenographers. Such is life I suppose.

    I also wouldn't truly hate if Rojas is optioned to give him time to lengthen out a bit again. If you have Zebby and Rojas at AAA lengthened out to potentially start as needed, that's a good thing. HAVE to think Prielipp either gets shut down or starts every 6th or 7th day ongoing, and I don't know how much both Ober has in the tank left. The more options to start, the better.

    I do hope this offseason Keaschall can throw a LOT of focus on a defensive position that he will play ongoing. If it is outfield, great. If it is 2b, great. It is hard to learn on the fly, and he is athletic enough to handle any number of positions, Corey Koskie and Justin Morneau were just as bad at their respective positions when they initially debuted, and Keaschall appears to be someone who is a "gym rat" of sorts that will try and learn and become better. With good coaching and a focus this offseason, I do think he can become better at a spot that he can focus on. We'll see if that ultimately is more outfield or more in the dirt. Beyond all else, I hope they do extend Keaschall ongoing. He feels like someone (along with Jenkins and Lackey, and maybe a few others) who you want for the long haul.

    100%. I'm not advocating for him to come up and immediately be in the #3 hole for the next 10 years. But I do think his production AND defense AND speed would benefit the team. As he grows over the years, then I can also see his production improve.

    I think they can be good enough to win in the playoffs with the additions they made, not trading Jeffers for prospect(s) and also assuming that Ryan finds his form, Buxton can come back and be close to the first few months of the year production wise, Jenkins and Culpepper and both come up and produce, and they have good health in the rotation. That’s a lot of assumptions most likely. If nothing else, it’s interesting and they will be playing fun baseball the next few months. I also hope there isn’t a long lockout after the season. Hopefully, if Tom is “go big or go home” this shows up over the coming seasons when roster planning. But for the moves they made now and the upcoming debuts, I’m certainly more excited to watch the next two months compared to last season at this time

    I do think over time as he ages he will get more and more power yes. And I don't want Wallner in the field defensively again for this team. Even if he has power, his best defensive home is the batter's box alone, and even that feels like it's only about a month a year that that's true.

    Not in the last month plus he isn’t. Since June 1 he is hitting 331/396/545. And he plays good defense. And he runs the bases extremely well

    Super unpopular to me, at least with regards to Mendez and Gonzalez. Their lack of defense, or at least it not being a strength of theirs, makes it so they absolutely don’t get called up. Rodriguez, sure, I can see it if he is healthy. But he needs a lot of time to get back in the swing of things before that were to happen. Jenkins is the easy call up for me though of everyone you mentioned because he a) is hitting really well, and b) would provide solid centerfield level defense, along with speed on the bases. Both Gonzalez and Mendez’s best defensive home is probably DH, so I don’t see a way that they jump the line

    And maybe this is a bigger thing before next season. Maybe it just plays out for this year and we go from there. I just figure, Jenkins probably will be up soon, and the hope also is that Buxton is back and can be what he was to start the year. Those things might not happen

    I'd argue Keaschall's bat should be in the lineup every day. Since May 1, 287/396/409 with an 11.8% walk rate and a 14.7% k rate. Wish he could stick at 2B too, but it appears to be Clemens spot now unless you just want to make Clemens your super utility.
