  1. I disagree completely. They’ve said all offseason they want a right handed hitter with thump. Bell is a good hitter against right handed pitching (hitting left handed) but has been fairly poor or at least below average facing left handed pitching (hitting right handed.) There is still room to add a right handed hitter with some thump to the lineup. Doesn’t have to be Mayo, but adding someone that can play 1b is easy in this lineup both for 2026 and ongoing
  2. I don’t think Baltimore would want Ober. I could be wrong. And I’d be willing to bet the Twins wanted Abel for a reason and aren’t itching to trade him this quick. I do think taking a swing at Mayo would be a fun gamble. They have said they need right handed pop and his September last year was solid.
  3. I don't know. Maybe Bell plays more there than he has in years. Clemens actually graded out fairly well there defensively. I mostly just am coming back to the quotes that they want to add more right handed thump to the lineup what with all the lefties they have to help balance. I'd argue Bell doesn't do much/anything really to help with that as he hasn't performed well facing lefties. So I THINK there is still room to add a right handed batter. With that, frankly, 1b/dh positioning makes sense too.
  4. He is a good hitter against right handed pitching, and had a strong year last year. Sounds like a good clubhouse/mentor guy too, which doesn't hurt. He doesn't add to the pop they said they wanted with adding a right handed hitter, even though he is a switch hitter. His numbers historically against lefties is below average. I hope they still go for a good right handed hitter with pop. I'd prefer not as a platoon necessarily because I think Bell will DH often.
  5. I'll just say, both Bader and France both had a track record of better defense than Bell has shown.
  6. The headline should add "as currently constructed." LOTS of changes, and I don't at all expect that Bell will be here to play defense at 1B full time.
  7. I think Wallner and especially Julien are getting to a place where they have to show they fit on this roster. LOTS of moves coming this offseason in my opinion, and that's why they got this one done earlier than they typically start to make moves. I also get the sense that Keaschall is going to be in the outfield more than the infield this year. Curious how that makes the infield shake out.
  8. Certainly doesn't strike out anywhere near as much as Sano or Gallo or Wallner.
  9. Just wanted to say I always appreciate and love your writing Parker. Thank you!
  10. All of the names you listed below I’d be good with. Specifically Mayo and Casas is who I’d love to target. I don’t know that Mountcastle would be my first choice but I would go that route before at least half of the free agents listed here.
  11. This tells me the trade route is the smarter path to take
  12. I'd be interested in Mountcastle to help for a season. I'd even think about Ober going there, as salaries are similar, if Baltimore attached a decent prospect. I'd much prefer Mayo, and I'd be curious what the ask would be. Lopez and Ryan are non-starters in my opinion, but I'd at least listen after that. I do think he is close to ready to be a middle of the order bat the Twins have been missing since Nelson Cruz left.
  13. It really does sound like Keaschall is going to get run in left and some center field. Certainly he can also fill in at 2b and even 1b, but I get the sense from quotes in the last week that he may be playing a LOT of left field.
  14. I would LOVE Ha Seong Kim on this team, either at SS or 2B. Up the middle defense he would bring would really help here.
  15. Is this on the table? It's a fun thought experiment. I guess generally I want to see if Lewis can get back to his 2023 and early 2024 levels, but Abrams would be fun to see at SS.
  16. Burress is growing on me a bit, but I would love to see how Flukey or Peterson do this year to see if they pop up. But Lebron's tools are intriguing. MLB has the top 9 in this class all 60 or higher (Cholowsky at 65.) In the 2023 draft, Skenes and Crews were 65 and then Langford and Clark and Jenkins were all 60. It is exciting that the Twins will get a high end prospect at #3, as well as some really good pieces with round 2, comp b and round 3 in July.
  17. I’d be curious what it would cost. That’s all.
  18. I'd shoot for Mayo, but whatever works.
  19. He wasn't great compared to the league he played in, but it is interesting. We'll see.
  20. Bobby Nightengale is reporting the Twins are trading Susac to the Giants. More to come
  21. Bobby Nightengale is saying the Twins are already trading Susac to the Giants. More to come.
  22. Catcher with a decent offensive game. Maybe they are thinking of moving Jeffers? Interesting
