    That could be, and if they add pitching without giving up Prielipp I'd be good for that. Mostly for this season alone, I just assume he'll be shut down at some point. That's all.

    I would too. I also saw the Angels traded O'Hoppe and the reliever Silseth for a young rookie level infielder from the Rangers. I know Detmers is worth a lot more, but Silseth is a solid reliever and O'Hoppe has been good and probably needed a fresh start. Just saying, maybe the Angels value one of our DSL players or Fort Myers players more than rankings do? Anyway, I do worry most about the offense, and even more about the rotation. I'd prefer a good starter and even a hitter in trade now, while also adding a reliever. This team isn't finished, but they do have Culpepper and Jenkins on the horizon too.

    Detmers last year was kind of what Prielipp is this year. Actually they had the exact same whip (1.30) for Prielipp this year and Detmers last year. Detmers whip this year is 1.10. I don't hate that Detmers has 2.5 years team control remaining, and he just turned 27 earlier this month. Prielipp will turn 26 in January, so it's not like he's a LOT younger, and I also get that left handers take some time. I brought up this idea more because I think they will try to be creative in how to improve the team. I don't think they should worry about the 2029 season right now for the rest of this year. Getting Detmers, who is team controlled through 2028, would help. And if Prielipp can stay healthy and become what Detmers currently is, then I wish that for him.

    That was a bad miss. He also had a great backup of the ball off the wall in right. I do think Keaschall is learning, and I like his speed, but I'd much prefer his defense to be in a corner instead. I think Jenkins' time is coming, and probably soon.

    Detmers is a lot better than Prielipp right now today. I don't know how anyone could argue that. Prielipp does have potential yes, but I'd argue Prielipp's best is what Detmers is today.

    Expected era is 3.39, and his k to walk ratio is really strong. Plus, based on savant, his extension he gets about middle of the pack. To me, that is all the things that Pablo was doing prior to coming to Minnesota. I think IF the Twins got him, they could get him pitching closer to that expected era.

    In Dan Hayes trade scenarios article, he did mention that the Twins have liked Reid Detmers for some time. With that said, what about the idea of packaging Prielipp in a deal for Detmers? Heck, maybe even Keaschall too, or if not Keaschall, someone else in the high minors? What do you think it would take for Detmers to be a Twin?

    Agreed. I was only talking about the guys you listed. I want Jenkins up, or even Emma, of the guys you listed. The others, I don’t. But I think Gray is gone soon too

    I am very much enjoying seeing Kendry start to piece it together. I’m also excited for what the major league team will look like after the trade deadline along with some prospects debut. Should be a fun last few months of the year

    I’d only count Jenkins of the players you mentioned. MAYBE Emma if he can stay healthy too. I don’t want others who can’t provide at least average defense.

    Same question to you, but for owners or literally anyone who treats anything that is shared as a tear down for private equity?

    But the owners would have to fully open their books to show that players would get 50 percent. That will never happen

    It sucks, but this version of Ryan isn’t a playoff level starting pitcher. And they can’t hit a good quality aaaa pitcher in Dobnak. Hopefully they add in more places than just the bullpen.

    Hopefully he stays on the list until he feels as close to 100% as possible. He hasn't been right for a few weeks now. Get him better asap. And agreed with others, I'd much rather see Jenkins up now instead of Gray.

    Oh man, Royce is so much fun to cheer for. Good to have good vibes. Also fun to see Bradley when he is on. He can be so dominant. The double plays today felt like back-breakers. Sometimes that happens. Glad they pulled it out. Fun win for sure. Keep it going! My hope is Joe Ryan looks solid tomorrow. Doesn't even need to be spectacular, just solid.

    That's true, but I still think it would be a pretty massive downgrade with the bat from Jeffers to Caratini full time. But maybe they would be ok?

    Curious people's thoughts on this; After watching today's game, Taj Bradley to me would 100% be the guy I would want to start game 1 of a playoff series for this team. This is due in part both A) How dominant he can look when he is throwing strikes, as well as B) How Joe Ryan has generally faired in the 2nd half of seasons for the last, well, ever. Do people agree? Disagree? And frankly, in my opinion, if they can add a starter before the deadline, I'd very much want to add someone who is able to start a playoff game as much as I'd JUST want an innings eater type. I guess we'll see how much that would cost. Fun win today, but overall, how would you rank the rotation options for the team currently as of today?

    I think any paragraph talking about trading Jeffers and the risk in not getting something for him after the season ALSO should include the risk of trading our #3 hitter in a year they are apparently going for it to a team that also will have playoff aspirations. These last 2 months of ball for the Twins, when they are trying to win, (along with a probable work stoppage next year) has to be worth quite a bit if they are going to trade their #3 hitter in Jeffers. So what the person above mentioned, if someone like Emerson Hancock is available, that is the type of move that would make moving Jeffers ok. Still would suck to face Seattle in a playoff series then, but theoretically there would also be other moves

    Sounds good to me. I'd love either Brazoban or Weaver (or both) in a deal with the Mets. Curious how much that would cost, but I'd be all for it. Good article!

    I agree. I'd prefer, very much, someone like Gausman if it is a rental. But mostly I just don't want to not do anything.

    Really? Zebby had one good start against Oakland and now you're certain it's smooth sailing for him? Prielipp is already past his innings limit and will probably be shut down, and Paredes is hurt. This rotation is held by duct tape no? I certainly would trust him in a playoff start right now over Ober as the 3rd starter, but to each their own. That said, it would be more fun to go younger. I'd be curious how much they are willing to trade. I don't anticipate moving TOP prospects though.
