    This scenario playing out would be fun. If they made the Peralta trade I would hope Tom would ok an extension. I don’t see Gunnar coming here without Jenkins going out. So that would be a non starter for me. What do you think of Isaac Paredes as a 1b target instead? The twins were listed as an option in the athletic trade rankings and his pull power at target field would be really beneficial in my opinion. Thanks!

    Agreed on this, but it does also depend on the other games before the deadline. I’d be open to selling Ryan and Jeffers if they truly go into a tailspin, but otherwise Larnach going and then adding some arms makes sense

    Detmers doesn't really do it for me, but I get what you are saying. I know he has team control and all, but I'm not as much in love with him. That said, if they like him, I support the coaching.

    This game FELT like a game they would not have won in 2025. Fun to see. Good defense, and Ober looked more than solid. Fun atmosphere on the road too. Keep it up!

    I wouldn’t platoon Lewis, especially with someone who isn’t part of the long term core. I’d give him a chance to fully grab the full time 1b role. If he doesn’t, that’s a conversation for another day. Also, butt issue is funnier. I agree :)

    I get this. I also HOPE that Buxton's hip will allow him to still play CF. Hypothetically if he can't play defense as well, who's bat do you want in the lineup more; he or Bell? I guess that was my line of thinking here. That's without looking at the number of other outfielders they have.

    Another thought; when Buxton comes back, it's very much a numbers game. Even if they trade Larnach (for example) the outfield then is Roden/Martin, Buxton and Keaschall right now. That's perfectly fine, right? But IF Jenkins comes up (which I do think happens at some point) then you do have to think about the idea of moving Bell to ensure that the outfield mix can all take turns dh'ing right? Not that they have to move Bell, but I could see the idea of it depending on the return. Anyway, lots of moving parts too, so trading some guys with the intention of making room for players that are ready also makes sense.

    If they do start losing and flip to selling instead of buying because of it, trading guys that are in their last year of their deal or have one remaining is perfectly normal. Arguably they have a ton of guys at AAA who are ready for their spots anyway, which is also perfectly normal. It doesn't mean they would have 11 trades like last year IF that is the case. But IF that is the route they do go, it's perfectly reasonable to expect some additions to their organization via trade. That absolute worst case scenario is both not buying or selling. That would be a disaster. Hopefully they pick a lane and go down that lane. My optimistic view is they continue to play well and do add instead of sell. But I'd be perfectly fine if they can move a few pieces who won't be with the team in 2027 while also buying some help for this year in positions of need.

    One idea I just had while daydreaming; IF Toronto does fall out of it, what are the chances that BOTH Kevin Gausman and Jeff Hoffman could be part of a deal centered around Emmanuel Rodriguez? Toronto, IF they sell, certainly would want young talent back. And Rodriguez is out of options after this year, so even with massive power potential and a good eye at the plate, along with the ability to play center, he does have a lengthy injury history that any team would have to figure out. Not saying EXACTLY that would be the deal. But this one FEELS like a type of move that 1) would show that Tom Pohlad is serious, 2) would add good players to 2 different spots that are needs, and 3) be a pretty massive gamble trading someone with Rodriguez's ability for a rental in Gausman and a reliever who is only signed through 2027. Hypothetically this deal would help 2026, but it would be a pretty massive risk with a top 75 global prospect with pretty major injury concerns in his history. Hate it? Love it?

    He did just get the Brewers to sign Cooper Pratt to a long extension before he was even called up. That's one of, if not, the most recent contracts his agency has helped with, and that contract is for 8 years/50 million. Pratt may never be a star, but he wanted a long term deal and his agency helped make that happen. Not saying they are exactly equal. But I don't think Royce would need Bobby Witt Jr. money either. At the end of the day, isn't an agent's job to make the player they represent as happy and secure as possible?

    I think Kaelen Culpepper would have debuted already if not for his IL stint now weeks ago. That is the reason Tristan Gray is still on the roster. Once he is back and has had a healthy 10 day stint in St. Paul, I think then he is called up. I don't think there needs to be an argument on whether or not Jenkins will come up. If he truly is ready, he will come up then. It's not rushing him if he shows he can be a top of the order type bat in August. If he isn't showing that, then he won't get promoted. Simple as that. I have no idea what to think on Rodriguez. I do think in April he was close to getting his chance, but then he got hurt again. I tend to think, especially since he can't be in the minors again after this season since he is out of options after 2026 that he could be an option to trade now or this offseason (if there is a 2027 season.) I also have a really hard time calling Ben Ross or CJ Culpepper prospects. Maybe they both can help in a middle reliever or utility role at some point, but they don't appear to be needle movers. IF they are continuing to put themselves in playoff position, I'm excited for a trade deadline that has ownership's blessing to add payroll and talent.

    He is already signed through 2028. My guess is these talks could start after a new cba is approved. Hopefully that means no lost games in 2027 but I’m expecting it to. I’d love to be wrong

    Soriano had a really great start to the year. Since May, or even since April 28, he has an era north of 5. I don't know that Tait will be a catcher long term, but I'm not itching to trade him either. He doesn't even turn 20 until the end of August. Hopefully he gets fully confident at high A and then maybe finishes the year as a barely turned 20 year old at AA.

    I was really confused on the description of Turner being a 2nd baseman when next to his name he is listed as a right handed pitcher.

    He would very much cost more. I also think that (if there is a season) Pablo will be back. And if they aren't trading Ryan, then that top 2 with Bradley is fun to dream on. Mostly I want to add for this season only because I don't know if there will be a 2027 at this point. And trading for a non-rental is a LOT more expensive. Not that I'm against it, but I'd focus on rentals in the rotation first.

    And I’d be fine just adding depth more than a playoff starter. I’m worried that Prielipp will have to get shut down at some point, and there are always injuries. I think adding at least to get to the end of the year (knock on wood) makes sense. That’s what he would be to me
