    Seeing Jenkins play in left field is interesting to me. Makes me think his debut might not be all that far away after all. And it sure was fun to see Lackey’s name in the box score. They got a good one with him

    Yup, arguably both of them are guys that would have a hard path to finding playing time in the majors here. Wish them well, but this is a deal you make every day for a good reliever at the deadline.

    Billy Amick and Bruin Agbayani to the Mets for Minter. Minter certainly is now in the mix with Morris and Gomez for higher leverage use. Good deal

    I don't know that I want an overpay for Arraez to come back. Someone else will probably offer more, and that's ok with me. I'd prefer a middle of the order type more. I hope they are active this deadline.

    Culpepper was hurt and just came back and hasn’t played in the field since coming back. Jenkins I do think is close. If this is September 1, and both of them are playing well and not hurt and also haven’t been promoted then I can see your point maybe. But at the same time, no one knows for sure what the next cba will include. So trying to manipulate time when we don’t know how time will be counted doesn’t make sense to me

    If they do trade Jeffers now, regardless of return, they had better have another deal in place for a right handed hitting middle of the order type bat to come back and replace. That is, if they do want to actually try for the playoffs. For example, if Houston decides to sell and we can get Isaac Paredes from them, then I'd be more open to listening on Jeffers now. I also wouldn't prioritize Ben Hess in a deal, and I like him. I just do want SOME of the focus to be on the remainder of 2026. Or at least, that's what Tom and Jeremy Zoll have been saying all year. To sell Jeffers for a prospect return now would go against everything they've been saying, but I can see him doing a prospect return IF other moves are also happening.

    Agreed with all of this. He probably also is at the lowest his value will ever be IF he does get back to form

    Oh man, Gausman would be so perfect here for the next two months. What do you think Toronto would ask for in a Gausman trade? Or better yet, a Gausman and Jeff Hoffman deal? Could enticing them with any number of AAA or mlb level outfielders as a starting point work? (Not named Jenkins.)

    Just for reference, this year he is hitting .326/418/457 against left handed pitching. If that continues, that could certainly help a team that has been dismal (without Buxton) hitting left handed pitching. To me, it would also mean that the deadline would have multiple outfielders traded away. Without multiple outfielders traded away, I definitely don't see a fit. Otherwise, he also was born in Burnsville if people do care about guys from MN.

    I would very much be open to a move like this. Would be fun to have him at the top of the rotation.

    That could be, and if they add pitching without giving up Prielipp I'd be good for that. Mostly for this season alone, I just assume he'll be shut down at some point. That's all.

    I would too. I also saw the Angels traded O'Hoppe and the reliever Silseth for a young rookie level infielder from the Rangers. I know Detmers is worth a lot more, but Silseth is a solid reliever and O'Hoppe has been good and probably needed a fresh start. Just saying, maybe the Angels value one of our DSL players or Fort Myers players more than rankings do? Anyway, I do worry most about the offense, and even more about the rotation. I'd prefer a good starter and even a hitter in trade now, while also adding a reliever. This team isn't finished, but they do have Culpepper and Jenkins on the horizon too.

    Detmers last year was kind of what Prielipp is this year. Actually they had the exact same whip (1.30) for Prielipp this year and Detmers last year. Detmers whip this year is 1.10. I don't hate that Detmers has 2.5 years team control remaining, and he just turned 27 earlier this month. Prielipp will turn 26 in January, so it's not like he's a LOT younger, and I also get that left handers take some time. I brought up this idea more because I think they will try to be creative in how to improve the team. I don't think they should worry about the 2029 season right now for the rest of this year. Getting Detmers, who is team controlled through 2028, would help. And if Prielipp can stay healthy and become what Detmers currently is, then I wish that for him.

    That was a bad miss. He also had a great backup of the ball off the wall in right. I do think Keaschall is learning, and I like his speed, but I'd much prefer his defense to be in a corner instead. I think Jenkins' time is coming, and probably soon.

    Detmers is a lot better than Prielipp right now today. I don't know how anyone could argue that. Prielipp does have potential yes, but I'd argue Prielipp's best is what Detmers is today.

    Expected era is 3.39, and his k to walk ratio is really strong. Plus, based on savant, his extension he gets about middle of the pack. To me, that is all the things that Pablo was doing prior to coming to Minnesota. I think IF the Twins got him, they could get him pitching closer to that expected era.

    In Dan Hayes trade scenarios article, he did mention that the Twins have liked Reid Detmers for some time. With that said, what about the idea of packaging Prielipp in a deal for Detmers? Heck, maybe even Keaschall too, or if not Keaschall, someone else in the high minors? What do you think it would take for Detmers to be a Twin?
